Hi o.o/ EwPeople here. Magic Ninja (got lost and ended up in the den of the tanks qwq). Just making another pointless build XD.
Alright, I think I finally finished this set XD
Weapon: Genius (unreleased special sword)
Armor: Deceiver up
Additional Gear: Zweig Shield re up
Special Equipment: Aegis Ring
Crysta: Iniliba x 1
Al Crysta: Malti, Leviam, Altan, Vurushemu (unreleased)
Ability: Full Rate Cut
Stat Total:
Melee r +25% (no buff)
Equipment DEF: 54 (max, no super refine)
Magic r +88% (with Aegis Ring buff, no passive)
Rate Cut +89% (no buff)
According to a research done here in the forum, equipment DEF directly translates to melee r+%. This means that we'll have +99% melee r if we activate Guard.
In case you have at least a Cleric to buff you with Aegis, switch to any spec without -resist/rate cut. Your passive Resist skill should provide enough magic r to reach +95% cap (or does the skill only add magic defense?).
Divine Aura should give enough rate cut+% to reach +95% cap.

{SPOILER: Click to show/hide.}
So a few months back I learned about a spec called Scholar Ring. It gives +10% Melee/Magic Resistance if your INT/VIT > 199. I thought "whats the difference between DEF/MDEF and resistances?" So Google I went, and results I found!
It seems that DEF/MDEF from stats is subtracted directly from the enemies' ATK/MATK, while DEF from gears divides damage (need confirmation on xtals, al xtals, abi, and MDEF on gears, xtals, alxtals, abi). Resistance, however, reduces the damage you take by %. Which means if somehow you were able to get 100% melee/magic resistance, you would take only 1 or 0 damage. That's not possible, however, as I just discovered that the cap is 95%. But 5% is still pretty awesome, don't you think? So lez try achieving just that *^*.
Some things I need answered, listed below:
1. Are elemental resistances applied after melee/magic resistance?
2. Rate cut is for crts, hp% attacks or both? (Since crts are hp% based too)
3. How is damage cut thingy calculated? Like from Pale Reaper and Mirage Stone. Is it after the resistances?
Do note that I've never had/used a pally before so please correct anything incorrect.
Pros:
-Very little damage received
-Works with low heal
-That's about everything LOL!
Cons:
-Party reliant
-Hard to solo
-Pots are useless
-Low HP
-Low damage
Stats:
1) Scholar Ring build
INT - Minimum 200
VIT - Minimum 200
Rest - whatever XD. I say STR tho, for damage with swords.
2) Other build
Any pally build from other guides, but VIT DEX STR recommended.
Gears:
Weapon:
El Avenir
-INT+7, MaxHP +3000, Hit +20, Magic Pierce +12%, Melee Resistance +16%
Why: Because of the high melee resistance o.o/ also sword mastery
Armor:
Licht (Strengthened 1)
-DEF:16-22, DEF and MDEF Increase Depending on the Level, Physical and Magic Resistance + 7%, Delay -0.5 seconds, When Defending, Probability of Skill Delay Decrease (Hidden Performance: When Defending, Skill Delay Reduced for 10 seconds, Probability if ATK rise by 1%)
Why: Nice DEF, skill delay just enough for Guardian spam, has both melee and magic r
Additional Gear:
Lucioscudo (Strengthened 1)
-DEF:20-23, MDEF Increase by 50% of LVL, DEF Increase by LVL, Melee & Magic Resistance +14%, Range Mitigation +5%, Rate Relief +15%
Why: Double Licht's resistances, nice def, rate cut owo
Special Equipment:
Scholar Ring
-If VIT> 199 Magic Resistance +10%, If INT>199 Melee Resistance +10%
Why: Resistance XD
Catura Talisman
-abnormal tolerance +5% Range cut +5% Rate cut +5% Melee and Magic R +5%
Why: free, always slotted, full of resistances, gosh why not? *^*
Necklace of Mortification
-MaxMP -30%, Melee & Magic R +8%, Rate cut +8%
Why: resist and rate cut o.o/
Crysta:
Morbeelzem
-Physical and Magic res+5%, Rate relief+5%, Items recovery-15%
Why: Resistance and rate cut o.o/
AL Crysta:
Leviam - MaxMP +10%, Magic R +10%, Magic evasion +5%, Cast defense +5%.
Abilities:
Provoke - low damage = low hate, recommended if you don't have a Servant or Assassin in your party
Rate Cut - With above classes
Calculation Thingy:
Say you got the best of everything, here's what you'll get:
Weapon: 16% melee r
Armor: 7% melee r, 7% magic r
Add: 14% melee r, 14% magic r, 15% rate cut
Spec: 10% melee r, 10% magic r
Crysta: 25% melee r, 25% magic r, 25% rate cut )2s weapon, slot spec)
AL: 9% melee r, 19% magic r
Abi: 15% rate cut
______________________________________
Total: 81% melee r, 75% magic r, 55% rate cut
Now if you have a bishop in your party:
Aegis Lv3 - +50% Magic R owo.
Quick Lv1/2 - -1.5/-2 sec skill delay
This means you can drop Leviam and go for:
Malti: Rate Cut +10%, Melee Pierce + 10%, Abnormal Res. + 5%
Vurshem: (not released) MaxHP + 5%, Neutral Res. + 3%, Rate Cut + 10%
Rate Cut I/II: (not released) Rate Cut+2%/4%
You can also replace Licht with Iron Armor (Strengthened 2)
DEF:25-31, MaxHP+4000, HP Natural Recovery +24%, Stun Time -1.5 seconds, Melee Resistance +10%
With the above adjustments, your total resistance would be:
84% melee r, 99% magic r, 81% rate cut
Now that looks awesome owo. That's not all, we still have:
+9 refine armor/add = 18% damage reduction
54 def from Iron Armor/Lucioscodo which divides the damage we take
Guard skill o.o
Fortis skill = 60% Elemental resistance *drool*
Resist skill
Parry skill o.o/
Divine Aura skill = more rate cut
Now my "other classes" knowledge isn't very great, so I'll only recommend to party with Bishops, Servants/Assassin for they will serve you well.
Once again, I've never had/used a pally before, so do correct every mistake you see.
Maximum Resistance Set
- this set was made with immortality in mind XD. Super low damage with this set, but that's not the goal. The goal with this set is achieving the maximum resistance and rate cut percentage. Nothing more, nothing less owo. Some items might not be released as of this update
MRRC Set
- this set was made based on Yazmat's claim that "Pally already takes very little damage from melee attacks." I completely disregarded Melee Resistance and built up just Magic Resistance and Rate Cut on this set. Some items might not be released as of this update.
