Finally! The Balance Patch has been release! So that means its time to update the damage formulas for Alchemist! Sadly we didn't get any awesom buffs like some of the other classes, but soon we will be getting a buffed skill called Grief Chain which i was able to do 1.2m dmg with on the JP Test Servers, when they were up.
For now though, i have updated Poison Bomb dmg, Poison aliment dmg, and Burn Dmg.
In a nutshell Poison bomb is now based on Matk instead of atk and can get up to 100k+ at level 4. This is the only buff we got, but was much needed since my poison bomb only hit for 6k before rebalance.
As for as the Ailment dmg, these were both nerfed. Poison and Burn still do the same damage as before at level 1, but now it only increases by 66% of lv 1 dmg instead of 100% per level. Yea goodbye 400k poison dmg until new skills are relased.... T^T
Well no time for crying; We will be just as strong as before, if not stronger, once new skills are released.... i just wonder when that will happen.....

We are still kind of weak against bosses because of some ailments being disabled, hopefully Grief Chain makes me change my mind on this matter.

We are still kind of weak against bosses because of some ailments being disabled, hopefully Grief Chain makes me change my mind on this matter.Grief chain depends on ailments and high matk for big dmg. Bosses with immunity to certain ailments will still hurt our dmg with grief chain, but we do get another ability that adds blind and paralyze to our arsenal of ailments. So it should be easy to get 3 or 4 ailments on an enemy with this, bleed, and drain. At 4 ailments and 9k matk you should be able to hit 500k+ with Grief chain. Adding freeze and poison wouldn't take much longer for more dmg(650k+), and if your in it for the long haul, you can add burn and dizzy(800k-900k). Dizzy adds 10% to all atks and matks, including grief chain, which is worth the effort. And don't forget about spell boost and burst for your biggest dmg. The biggest down side imo is the 30 secs of exhaust that prevents you from casting it again. I hope this gets reduced, in the future, by at least 15 secs. I'm going to have fun with it either way.

whats the new formulae after balance patch ? It's already been updated in the original post, but to answer your question in short poison and burn dmg was reduced by roughly one third and poison bomb was turned into a magical Atk instead of a physical Atk. Also, bleed now proc on kill stick throw without needing use bloody throw first.

I'm working on the grief chain dmg formula atm and this is what I got so far...
The initial hit from grief chain (the amount of dmg grief chain deals with 0 ailments on the mob) is pure matk. I'm getting about 10.5-11.5 times my matk after I subtract the base magic you get from mana mastery(5 times your level at skill lv 5).
Then I'm getting about 90k per aliment on top of that even with no matk. I used a restat book to remove all my stats and with 1 in all stats, I still got 90k per ailment(therefore int and dex doesn't affect it). Since I'm already almost capped in all my prods my guess is it's based on prod levels some how, but that's hard to test without grinding a new character to 340. So I could use some help here...
Spell boost does affect the initial dmg of the formula (the portion based on matk) but does not affect the amount you get per aliment.
Spell burst does affect the entire formula including the aliment portion. So on a spell burst it is possible to get 1.5m+ dmg with enough ailments.
I'm interested in knowing what the rest of your are getting so I can refine this a bit more before I add it to the front page.
I'll be updating the original post this evening with the other skill upgrades, but you proably can guess them since they follow a pattern.

I have added all the new attack skill to the original post. Please let me know if I am missing something.
I did update the damage formulas for Posion Bomb and Meter Hit. It seems that they were buffed slightly and these formulas should be more accurate now.
I am still testing Grief Chain to see if prod levels make any difference to the dmg. I will update as soon as I find out more.
Until the Next Update...Keep Adventuring!!!!

my prod levels arent maxed but with all ailments and buff from uber rod i hit 1.2m (although trying to get that buff and keep dizzy on is a headache) idk if i can help u with ur equation but lemme know xD If you want to help, start by finding out how much damage each additional ailment adds. (except for dizzy becuase it adds 10% to everything) My process: first, lower your matk as low as you can get it. Then find a low level mob that you can't one hit and use drain then grief chain like 20 times until you find the average dmg. Then do it again using smog then grief chain another 20 times and find the second average. Finally, subtract the two averages and it should give you approximately the amount of damage each ailment adds. You would have to repeat the process several times to find the exact number, but if you can give me an idea of what your getting, it would help greatly. Also a short list of your prod levels would help when compareing. I'm only 50 levels shy of capping chasing and I'm getting about 90k per ailment. The rest are capped. Other things to consider are: its based only on one prod type, it's partially or fully based on you character's level, or its just a static 90kish per ailment. If you have the time to test, then I thank you very much; if not, then don't worry about it. I have a second alchemist at level 260 with no prod levels. I could always level it to 340 to test the skill; it would just take some time to level it. And I'm sure there are other alchemist that may be testing this skill too that would like to share, so I'm sure we'll get it eventually. 1.2m is awsome, that is about what I get when I spell boost and have all 7 ailments on. If you spell burst, you can add another 50% to that. ^_^

Testing in progress... current stuffs. Drain + Greif Chain Average (no bursts)x8 98706 Smog + Grief Chain Average (no bursts)x8 188545 Wow! Looks like your getting an average of 90k per too! So that means it has nothing to do with prod levels. Maybe it's a static 90k? I'm level 357 so I would think there would be some difference. Then again you only seem to be getting 4 times your matk while I'm getting 10 times. Maybe prod levels affect the matk bonus? Interesting! Total prod levels divided by 100 or 110 would make that work. Hmmm? Anyway thanks for the help!

Greetings! So im planning on changing to alche but my prod levels are so low. Would that heavily affect my ailment damage (whenever they tick)? Couldn't fully comprehend the damage calculations that this thread has. Thank you in advance!

Couldn't fully comprehend the damage calculations that this thread has. Thank you in advance! Sadly yes it'll affect poison(low alchemy) and burn(low smith) also bleed(low chase) But u can still do decent dmg with curse and bloom blizz except ur gonna have to let go at least half of cap resist to be able to at least be on par on kill speed as other alchemists
