Spamming pillar is the best way to do maximum damage in a short time with a gladiator.
Throw in some vitality to add some meat to my bones and add hp via hp+20%.
This appears to be the best possible build for this class... In my unlearned opinion of course.

For boss solos, if it's a tougher boss, gladiators tend to use a mix of hp+dps gear, that way they keep moderate damage and survival.

Imo spamming pillar is not the best way. There are times where i find berserking faster. And depends on the situation youre in xD
Playing gladiator does not rely on pillar alone, take a look of all your move sets and picture what you can do. Dont be mesmerized with the numbers.
This is just my opinion.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure this out. I want to have optimal stats and gear for the class and make best use of the skills available when I can.
My other question I'll post in another thread in General.

Gladiators are capable of amazing damage when geared and specced correctly. Some allow for more damage or surivability then others. Builds: Str/Crit/Vit - This is the Berserker style and dex would be the last thing you add. Capable of the highest Dps with the Highest survivability.* with more stat points being allowed this build has the highest survivability of all others and is the class I would most recommend, earlier in the game Agi/Crit classes were a better option but this is no longer the case. Agi/Crit/Str- For use with Nail type weapon. Have just a tad of Vit for extra survivability. The highest survivability(easier to survive early levels at least) with the lowest Dps. Agi/Crit/Dex- Special Bow user. Vit will drop attack so its not reccomended but it will have similiar survivability to Nail user, but with higher damage. Thimble Required. Agi(Max Aspd)/Str/Crit/Dex rest - An Auto attacker that will have slightly less Dps then Berserker but also less reliant on MP pots or party. Crystals and Gear: Main focus is on Attk+% and Crit Damage+% in a careful Balance. Hp gear also may be a necessity.

I've been playing the class gladiator since it was released so maybe someone may value my opinion lol
I think the pillar blade build is overall the best build to go for as a gladiator. In nearly all cases it does the most dps. Spamming the move builds a lot of aggro (due to quick casting time and high damage) which allows you to tank. Hp gear can also help you to tank but you will sacrifice damage as a result. Pillar blade takes only 12mp so you can survive easily just with bless. If not then use pots, you won't burn through them like you would with beserk.
Since i've got pillar blade I rarely ever need to use beserk. Beserk takes all your mp and doesn't allow you to use potions. So it's literally kill or be killed when trying to solo. In a pt beserk is not the best option because you will lose aggro and if you already have a tank you will not benefit from counter skill making the dps even less.
Most bosses past lvl 200+ can be soloed but if you're looking to defeat them more than once then a pt is much better. The newer bosses are a pain because they cast so many debuffs, they can be difficult even for a good pt.

Oh thanks for this one, i thought my build was just a waste but then i saw this one. I'm finally relieve lol BTW my build was max agi, 20str, 20dex, and im currently working for crit to max out. Lvl 107 knight My equip was, vermilion+7 ns, schwarts+5 s ♦maxhp+20% (currently working to upgrade), variant+7 s ♦valmut and a seahorse bangle ns. My only problem was i only do 1100-1200 non-crit dmg and 2400-2900 crit dmg at my current lvl. Does this normal or im out of the league?? I can withstand physical attack but not magic attack espescially bosses. PS: What is DPS stands for??

What about a vit/crit/dex gladiator who uses a special sword? Great attack, defense, and HP, all while getting good crit?

Better hp and defense. Good attack and crt. yeah but add in minotaur xtals on their gear and the atk shoots up Minotaur does not add that much. Atk+% or crt damage +% xtals are still better. I believe this build is what miligrito done to his gladiator.
