Those ribbons are just what I need.
Yeah, Decoy was kind of the plan as well going forward, with this build my aim wasn't really to become a force similar to resistant players but more rather be on the higher end of dodging attacks, not dodge them all but just dodge a high percentage of them just in case decoy doesn't work out so it buys me just that extra time to plant another one down.
I got my build's total evasion wrong as well, with agility soma my absolute evasion would be 80% and my magic evasion 95%, somewhere up there.
I had a talk with a long time sniper in the scene via group chat and he gave me some more insight onto it. I have decided that since my theoretic builds would come at the ultimate sacrifice of a stat, I will do Special Bow as a build first and see how that works out. My plan would be to use Stardust bow for CF and Mirror Bow SST/SAG for the Hidden Arrow/Normal Autoskill damage.
If it's awful then I'll just stefly and scrap the idea. I'll post my findings here when that time comes. Still feels depressing though that I can't get that super evasion. About your build above, (designed for normal bow yes?) sorry I dont think it would survive at solo (if party yes).
It needs some vit, which will further scatter the stat allocation.
If it helps i got a sniper here (special bow build), which can solo ep 5 to 6 bosses (It uses 2slot weapon and thimble tho).
I haven't rematched joshuca/ganceann/botanutte yet because I wanted to get full 2slot sets before battling them again.
The last battle with joshuca was messy, had to use coin items and almost reached time limit, not good for farming.
There are still new equips that are not in the video, both released and unreleased as of Aug 2019 (like inari hamayumi or wolf scarf).
The video did not include elemental gears because rn i simply cannot afford multiples of the same equip with different elemental attributes.
Mystic arrow 2 slot is too farfetched for me either.
My experience as special bow build:
1. The post above about being hit about 20% of the time is very true, even with the high evade percentages, so resists and VIT becomes a factor
(even if I'm special bow build I use vit because i simply cannot live with just 7k HP, lost around 120 atk for my 60 vit as a tradeoff)
2. The sets take too long to complete (for me) because of spina issues. (11 months after v.1 of the video did i get to release v.2)
Sadly I was an auto sniper since 2015, so i got kicked a lot back then, i think that made a kind of unconscious habit of mine just to solo everything.
Sadder is I simply don't have enough spare time to farm
3. It takes full attention and practice to farm the hard bosses, but the bright side is all that evasion will let you auto some easier ones (like Bernhardt)
4. The current level cap wont allow for distribution of stats that would be to your liking.
I choose to stay as a special bow user because my stat distribution would be less scattered (only putting to STR because those were excess stats for me).
With my current build in the video, a big "what if" would be if I can still put 448 to STR, then I'd be able to use BOTH normal and special bow.
But of course that's impossible because I'd need to be about Lv.600 to get that much stats.
5. New play styles opened up when i started using some vit, like tanking (or acting like a turret?).
Especially now, when Hidden Arrow makes it so that Snipers get too much hate from foes.
I combine this with decoy to be more effective.
6. Decoy inherits some of the evasion, to what degree idk yet. I have not yet formally done testing for decoy evasion or HP (would require a stefly).
But at the very least they dont get 2- or 3-hit
often. I say often because you could still get unlucky when it gets hit continuously,
or even 1hit if it was a magic attack. I use decoy on bosses like Jahoel, Vulschem or Foxxus.
7. I tend to use sieger because it gives additional vit and int (meaning more HP and MP), which does not seem to lower my attack when equipped even though
I'm a special bow user.
8. Building the sets were fun. It was done through the years and at first I had no plan, nor order of building them.
I used the old sniper guide by jahleel at first but found it wasn't really my style, so i fiddled around the CF attack set a bit to use in special bow.
Hearing about the Hidden Arrow skill for the first time was a BIG game changer tho. Thats when i researched for the auto attack set. I also had a sort of resist set back then,
but only made it seriously after the auto attack set. So i guess the order i made my sets were CF set -> auto set -> resist set. I suggest for new snipers to find
equips for resist set first to go through mq (can be not high end gears, but just to survive), then CF set for leveling, then auto for boss farming ( resist set -> CF set -> auto set ).
In the video, I have a blast mixing them up depending on who the foe is.
I share the build and tips because i was hoping someone who can put it together faster than me can take over, and who can test the build with parties.
There's another reason but won't post here ^^. Good luck and let us know your findings when the time comes. Cheers!
