I made this thread to try to clear the assassin class name.
If you look at the assassin class stats and builds you will see that's assassins were not only meant to be able to solo bosses/mobs but also have quite the ability to tank given that assassins were made to have extreme survivability. unlike ninjas who were made to be able to deal heavy amounts of damage in a short period Of time. which is the main reason why people consider ninjas to be the best solo class.
Because almost all assassins skills are buff skills most people think that assassins are only A party class which is wrong. Sense most people go to max certain stats in the beginning of creating there character you miss out on a lot of stuff. In a way assassins can be greatly compared to paladins because of paladins extremely high hp. But assassins have extremely high evasion it's also the only class with a passive skill in magic evasion so this gives assassins A good advantage over several classes. If combined with equipment that increases magic evasion an assassin can Dodge A large amount A mob's overpowered magic. Of course A ninja has A huge amount of evasion and survivability but they have to sacrifice hp for power which puts them at A disadvantage when fighting mobs with abilities such as poison stun blind and AoE magic which does small amounts of unblockable damage where as an assassin who has high vitality can have a max hp of of around 15k+ which I don't recommend maxing vitality from the start better to start fully working on it at around lvl 160+ this gives assassins their ability to tank also most all warrior classes have provoke. Though with back stab as the only main combat skill people consider this imposible. because of course backstab does all of its main damage from the back which will be considered to hamper attempts to solo but there is away around! it if you put your character into a position directly under the monster and using the target circle as a guide and turn to face the same direction as the monster you will be considered to be directly behind it and be able to spam backstab this is mainly only possible to assassin builds that have high evasion rates.
I feel like I just typed a small essay. ★\(^w^)/★
DON'T BACK TALK ASSASSINS OR YOU'LL GET BACKSTABED!! e.e

I'd rather my parties assassin be squishy and have his damage maxed out, than have vit and be lower than good damage. Just saying.
Ps, my gm has no vit, and he does well in boss farms just with evasion. (He just got chased by almas for like 3 mins straight dodging every attack earlier while we were farming.

As I said its better to work on get vit to at least 120 in stats to increase survivability for a solo type

But then what would be the point? Not gonna solo new bosses, especially for farm. And in party, you'd get replaced for better dps. Better off going squish build.

Though I'm confident that my assassin is strong. I have to say that I am still trying to fully create my assassin. With my pet there are several boss i can solo with only 1-3 deaths at minimal... i soloed the first 2 senerio quest with almost no problem. Though i have yet to meet an assassin who is past lvl 200 most tell me that its up to my playing type so i think i can say the same for you... You should also look into some of the othet discussions for more info.

will its just a amount of time when special throwing will release it has vit 1atk agi 1atk int 1atk build of 3 atk total the way of how pally can be compared with assassins which is diff way between both i can say pally is been made to not dodge atks reason is there a bishop to heal and the pally iz class been made by focusing into resistance like guard and element resistance and also help of aegis by bishop, this lead bishop class to heal and giving them reason to be there while we see assassins work more into dodge mobs to cover low vit but the special throwing may lead us to see some follow this type of wep for diff reason but in other hand i can say some but not all bosses in the game can be tanked better by some classes than pally i respect evation so much when i turned my samurai sp sword into agi type than str and i have both pally and samurai on vida i dodge most atks mk it so easy to tank than pally cuz of debuff guard yes on some bosses we can do better but not all of them cause i have both classes and this lead me to see that pally got an advantage on all time tank not to mention his coming skills that not been out yet you can check on jp wiki most of them but if you add for example glad giving you guard and with aegis things can go to op class mixed resistance in case of high crazy dmg with huge amount of dmg but again im adding this when all pally skill released he got the advantage no doubt

to be honest...
to compare a ninja and sniper to an assassin :
- ninja will have higher dps, autoattack and docing, is able to tank for party if necessary, self independant/ doesnt need much party support (useful if hard to find h wiz, bish etcra),
- sniper ar rivals backstab, more useful in party play due to vaccines like blind, have status ailments affliction like paralysis and freeze to assist in boss netting, possesses snipe in case boss have purple barrier to impede progress

I believe he has max aspd agi, and the rest is the build you stated. Assassin's get 800+ eva after 180 easily with 1 agi. 135 is more than enough to hit 1k+ I would assume.

(He just got chased by almas for like mins straight dodging every attack earlier while we were farming. i agree that dps build has better use because of the INSANE damage potential of a backstabber. however, I am confused with assassins defensive buffs (who needs superior evasion when you are on the sidelines?) which leads me to think that an assassin can be built to solo boss grind and play role of tank (they draw aggro anyway). if I can dodge a boss for 3minutes, Its already awesome because there are alot of bosses you can kill In less than a minute solo, and a party should be able to kill difficult bosses In less than 3minutes. so a tank assassin might be possible when geared right p.s. when i made a choice between sniper and assassin, I chose sniper because I saw that you need to position yourself to the back, which I was to lazy to do (why move when you can just spam AR). And I regret doing that, because I failed to see that the tank can easily set up position for you. I only realized this when I built a pally. It was a noob decision.

sniper's ar have more benefits though, setting up position at the back isnt always a good thing...
like in a non boss fight, where you always have to continually dodge and ninja yourself around map to aim behind, furthermore mobs like to change their angle every few seconds which makes it even more daunting... ar makes it way easier
