So, my guildmates and I were having a discussion over the Paladin skill, Guardian (Level 1) and its calculated damage. So after some time, I came up with a formula calculating the damage output of Guardian Level 1. So I need your help, if possible, to test and see of this formula and if works or not. So here is the formula:
Guardian Level 1 Damage
(((Current HP) x .02) x .11) + (Base Attack + STR) = G
(Value of "G") x 4 = X
X - (Enemy Defense x 4) = Guardian Level 1 Damage
(Value of guardian level 1 damage) x Attribute Value (Depends on element of attack and element of enemy, if any)
EXAMPLE
42000 x .02 = 840
840 x .11 = 92.4
92.4 + (2114 base attack + 1 STR) = 2207.4
2207.4 x 4 = 8829.6 <-- BASE Guardian Damage
8829.6 - (4 x 330 Megaroche DEF) = 7509.6 Damage
7509.6 x (1) = About 7509.6 Damage output on megaroche (a water element) when using Guardian (Neutral Attribute) <-- TOTAL OUTPUT DAMAGE
Formula for Guardian Level 2:
(((Current HP) x .02) x .16) + (Base Attack + STR) = G
(Value of "G") x 4.2 = X
X - (Enemy Defense x 4.2) = Guardian Level 1 Damage
(Value of guardian level 1 damage) x Attribute Value (Depends on element of attack and element of enemy, if any)
Please test it out, I want to find out if this works. Please place results below, thanks! o.o/
Please allow damage to range about 250-500 damage above and below the BASE total output damage
If you don't think this formula works, tell me why and what you think the formula is...I'm open to new ideas so that I can learn :3
This formula may or may not work...at least I tried :c
In addition, if I put this post in an incorrect spot, I'm sorry... ><

Guardian (ambient attack) Technique to attack the enemy of all hostile. To perform non-attribute attack to target, and to direct the hostility to itself. Power changes at HP currently. This is the skill and formula on the wiki, as it's written. It's already been tested, so this is why it's listed with the skill.

A Paladin has about 70,000 HP and about 1062 ATK and uses Dragon Roar. What is the total output damage on chako? My formula calculated about 5k but the Paladin did about 7k-ish damage .__.
The one I used within the example worked but why not this? e.e I'm testing it over and over and over and over.... x.x

Here, I'll give you my details of my Paladin.
Paladin Lv. 176
Vit 256 Int 60 Dex 222
Attack I believe is 760s with dragon roar 187a+8 (might have attack wrong on my weapon as I cannot remember correctly, and I can't get on atm).
At Roches, with about 44k hp being max in the gear set I use, I hit about 3.7k at max hp with guardian.
Your miscalculation probably lies with the .02 that you added to compensate for the 2% hp loss. Take that out of the equation. Your equation is of damage output from current hp. That .02 will throw that off entirely. I'm personally not an equatin guy, but I'm pretty sure that's where the error lies.
Edit: If I use my Katzbalger II 180+7/Schlingel, my attack is about 1452 if I remember correctly. I was using it at roches the other night and I was hitting about 6.5-6.6k hp at 35k hp.

I would like to verify this too because I seem to miscalculate my guardian dmg. I understand the formula the same way prayerz does. My stats at 193. Max vit Max str Dex 77 I have katz 2s, exelis up, lion shield with suigetsu x 4 and knight gauntlet ganei. My atk is 2396 my hp is 36k. (With warcry buff). Af full hp I do 9.8k to 10k single mega. 8.8k to 9k double mega. 7.8k to 8k triple mega. There is a random factor that is not mentioned in the formula which is probably why I dont have fixed damage.
Can somebody show the math for me because I end up with the wrong figure in my calculation.

Can somebody show the math for me because I end up with the wrong figure in my calculation. Hmm...if I used my formula and plugged your stats into this, I would get:
36000 * .02 = 720
720 * .11 = 79.2
79.2 + (2396 + 256) = 2731.2
2731.2 * 4 = 10924.8
10924.8 - (330 * 4) = 9604.8 (Megaroche DEF is ~330)
I don't how this worked...but how in the world could this work? @.@
I think, like every skill, or something, there is a small damage increase/decrease, etc. It happens with me when I use clone dance...where I do one set of low damage, the next higher, and the next set even higher, then back down to low/medium damage, etc. Yeah, maybe, aside from crit and such, there is a "damage multiplier" where the values could range from .8/.9 - 1.1/1.2 times your "base damage"...
I'm not sure though :c
Just putting in what I thought c:

Although you are near to the figures, I doubt your formula primarily because you made hp a very insignificant factor. Pallys with hp gears might contest on your equation.

Which leads me to believe that str Is not a factor (you have 1str, I have max str) and that the formula Is false (or guardian Is nerfed). what I can seem to verify so far Is that gloria only affects the atk part of the equation, the hp part will remain the same with or without gloria.

I did some tests and I think that guardian was probably nerfed from the formula. Please try this new formula: guardian 1: (atk x 3.6) x (1.5 If you have gloria vs dark mob) + (current hp x 0.55) guardian 2: (atk x 3.8) x (1.5 gloria vs dark) + (current hp x 0.8) its still a bit off but It should be quite near for estimate purposes. This Is probably due to the fact that I did not Include mob def.

Ok I tried with low lvl mobs and the atk multiplier might still be 4 and 4.2 ( I had reduced to 3.6 and 3.8 which is wrong). I'll try to get mob def in the formula. And perhaps str.

I think this is better now: G1 ((((Atk -mob def) x 4) + str ) x elemental bonus) + (current hp x 0.055) G2 ((((Atk -mob def) x4.2)+str) x elemental bonus) + (current hp x 0.08)

Ok let me know what you find out so we can tidy up or correct the formula if needed.
What I can confirm so far is the current hp multiplier, which was done by getting the difference of damage between full hp and 1%hp and that the damage due to hp is not increased by gloria.
The only remaining puzzle now is the atk part of the formula.

Also noticed that the hp part dmg is thru physical penetration, so for high def/barrier bosses, you will only see the hp part dmg since the atk part will land 1dmg. Im not a fan of hp gear so if anyone else can send data we can try to confirm the formula or correct it. We would probably need info on: LVL ATK STAT MAX HP WEAPON USED DAMAGE ON SINGLE MEGAROCHE AT MAX HP
