←has prod below Lv20. Bored af with prod tbh, so I don't do it cuz I don't enjoy it. I like the stuff there however, so I'm in this dilemma of "to prod or not to prod" everyday. Bearing this in mind, I believe the hard work put into making the items and leveling prod should be added on top of the cost, rarity, demand and whatnot of the equipment, but not all hard work from day 1 (don't hate me for this; just stating an opinion and not a universal truth). I'll try to justify my POV, but of course, it's still just an opinion of one person out of thousands that are playing this game.
Alright, so I understand that leveling prod is hard. Just 20 levels already taught me enough, and I didn't even farm rares. What more if I did eh? But here's the thing -- prices will go down eventually as newer and better equipment show up, or if a new skill requires an older gear that is just perfect for it (just looking at SK and Spin Shield here even tho it's not prod), prices will go up. What I'm trying to say here is that supply, demand and stats affect the prices pretty damm well. Say, during the Easter event, would you farm Cherose for Spin Shield or Gatekeeper for BOO? The difficulty is different, but since demand is high and supply is low, one would probably farm Cherose instead since one would end up having better earnings (btw, just an example and Irdk which one is harder to farm, but my point should have gotten across pretty well and yes, I'm disregarding the xtals just to make my point clearer).
Moving on, I'll add another point to what I've been blabbering about in above paragraph: about the pricing of hard work and materials, which I believe, is also true in real life. Let me say this (again, just an opinion): the hard work that should only be considered adding into the price is from previous prod level cap to current prod level cap. In real life, one good example is the light bulb. The light bulb was invented in like the 1800's (correct me if I'm wrong; I suck at history). Considering the amount of time from then to now developing and making better light bulbs, should the 200~ish years of hard work be put into the prices of current light bulbs? In my country, you could even get 3 of those for $2 (let's just say this is a low attack weapon with crap stats made with crap materials), or get one of the best ones out there for $20 (high attack weapon with awesome stats made with high quality materials). Just how much is hard work worth per light bulb? What about the materials?
Now in-game, once you actually cap prod, it's time to celebrate! You can make top tier stuff and make money! Then Asobimo raises prod level cap OTL, what do you do? You cap again, right? But you don't restart from Lv1. Unless you're a complete masochist who just likes to restart from scratch at every prod cap increase (who does this?), you'll continue where you left off and cap again. Now hold up, what about those who just started doing prod? These days, it's easier to cap prod because:
1) Lots of farmers, whether at high level or low level. You just need spina, which, like everyone has been saying, you can earn in 2 weeks to progress your prod greatly. (I don't earn much btw; just quoting what the top dogs are saying)
2) AoE. Back when I started, I don't think AoE exists. I don't even know if prod existed at that time, but they probably did, right? Consider unlispawn too -- never running out of mobs. If anyone's gonna complain about low level mobs being harder to unlispawn, you just have to research. I did a lot of research to create ways to keep my damage below 300 so I could unlispawn low level mobs, and my research bore fruit. I could unlispawn with my crappy 222 dmg.
3) Stalls. Yes, stalls. Stalls made a lot of mats readily available at any time. You just need to have the spina, which... (Refer to #1)
4) New prod info. That's right, the secret is out! You could progress in prod way faster now with new info about decreasing the materials you lose, which also cuts costs. Of course this also costs money, but you'll need em again later for when prod gets another raise anyway. The info also talks about how to increase your production success rate.
... All of which makes the hard work needed in leveling prod much less, although needless to say, it still is hard. There could be more, but I'll stop there. I can already feel the killer eyes of all producers out there as I write this *shiver*.
P.S. About buying full tickets, books, storages and whatnot to level prod: that is up to the producer to decide. You don't have to do this. You could cap prod with or without it, which means it should have little effect on the pricing of prod stuff. It’s like farming a slotted BOO or using a slotter to add a slot to BOO ns, which, in this case, the price didn’t change. This should also apply to the pricing of hard work. Say, a Gram slot made by someone who farmed every single item to level prod, or a Gram slot with same @ made by someone who did everything to make leveling prod easier. Which one costs more? It doesn’t matter, unless of course, you heard the cries of the soul of the first person, then your heart will probably respond and add a few mil on top.
P.P.S. About that “if you don’t like the price, make one yourself” thing, I could never make one myself, so I think I’ll just wait things out until prices die down XD. Most items are expensive af from the start anyway
P.P.P.S. About that “what’s the point of doing prod” thing, well, isn’t it cuz of the stats of prod-exclusive things? Even if the prices become unreasonably low, if you seriously need that certain prod item’s stats for your character, wouldn’t it make doing prod worthwhile?
That is all thanks for reading. Now, I’ll die XD (the producers probably sent assassins to kill me; tell my dog I love her; also my girlfriend).
