The only reason this is so big is due to the simple fact the beginning stages were handled poorly. There was questionable use of power and personal feeling where it should have been objective. Understanding that the Mod app's main purpose is to find those with knowledge on subject matter, it does not necessarily determine ability/application of thought or social graces and people management. When a Mod comments on your thread, you should think "oh look a useful response," not "wonder what they took offense at." It is understood there will be issues. the Stick-in-the-mud players who want to cause trouble, but they are not many. About the discussions, players enjoy them (which include the popcorn eating debates.) Everybody likes the forum. It was a problem of certain actions occurring too quickly with too little handling experience. Just to have certain powers does not mean one has to use them. -a timed lock warning may be useful. giving a thread 24-48hrs etc. Gives both players and mods a set. Players time to finish their discussion/popcorn. Mods just doing what they need to do while maintaining order. (Penalties are understood repercussions, but useless and counter productive if used incorrectly.) issue should not have even reached K. Who of course reached a decision that effectively ended the problem. It's similar to letting your queen be taken first in chess. Don't. -all opinion so far- As for questions in K's ability to run the forum. If she has effectively run it this long (obviously over 6 months) she has the most experience and ability and is therefore fit to do it. refreshing panes... wait is K a she or a he |

I have run this forum for over a year, I built it from nothing when the other forum was collapsing. I had very few members then all of a sudden I woke up and had 200+ members. I am extremely grateful for my mods past and present, they have done a fantastic job, mostly behind the scenes.
Me not playing does not mean I have instantly gotten stupid, in fact it makes me see how the Iruna players act clearer.
People have made mistakes, very few are ready to apologize or even acknowledge they did wrong.. this shows the maturity within the members here who have caused the ruckus.
Pick popular Iruna players to become Mods? I did. Prayerz and Voothy. I am sure we can ALL agree they are/were popular. Both broke the rules and harassed members in chat, probably thought I wouldn't see it?
What I am trying to say is stop seeing things so black and white, if you have not been in my shoes then don't be so quick to judge

If a mojority of the opposing opinions are shockingly simmilar arguements.... i doubt anyones looking at things in a "Black and white" perspective. |
