Hello Girls, Boys and other species of the Animal Kingdom (sorry, my Cat is snoozing on the keyboard and wouldn't let me post a thread unless I included Animals in the greeting, she would have felt offended) . As the title and section this thread is under would suggest, the topic is about Samurai's. I want to love this class, I really do but I'm kind of stuck on what stats to give it. Yes yes, I read the other thread already. It was kinda sorta helpful, but just one more time, let's break it down from the top so my low intelligence can comprehend everything that was said
VIT
Dunno about this one.. Higher ATK coupled with evasion or being a stone wall with high defenses. Being VIT, I'm sure they'll make more use of the Reflect skill than AGI will depending on their stat. Since that it only lasts for 30 seconds, I don't think it would make much since constantly re-casting that since you'll be avoiding more with AGI, so you wont have the time to trigger it and it's effect is canceled when hit with magic so that idea is stumped too..
I'm not really sure which stats to use like I said. While looking at JP Wiki, they have some really helpful (and cool) skills to follow in time. When I was watching videos, all of those Samurai seemed like they were struggling to live, lol. Wonder why that is.. Maybe I'm watching the wrong ones but who knows. Hopefully you'll all clarify things for me
STR or INT
(Normal or Magic)
(Normal or Magic)
STR
- +3 ATK per STR
- .5
Lowerhigher ATK gain per point compared to INT - Much wider variety of equipment to choose from (Most importantly Swords, but any other Normal Type as well)
INT
So, there's a few Pro/Cons for either stat. I'm sure there are more but, you can fill me in on those. They both seem like really good ideas. If I went with STR, I'd have more options. Like for example, lets say due to a lack of VIT I want to stack some HP and still be effective damage wise. No problemo. I could easily switch over to something like Avenir that gives an extra 1k HP (and much more later after upgrading) right and has a pretty high base atk so I won't be hurting. Let's not forget Red Tengu of course, that weapon is crazy. A perfect fit for getting top damage. Now, I don't play JP any but this looks really promising.
(Yay, broken translation)
Red Tengu-Nii
The more STR increase available ATK :190-205 +12% avoidance Critical Damage +15% ASPD-10% physical power is..
INT on the other hand, is a bit different. Only two of the three weapons worth having (right now). Espada deals out additional attacks via Mana Wave, and the proc rate seems pretty stable at the current upgrade, so that could help out on occasions. Then there's Sinbad. Suited more for harder mobs and maybe bosses too due to the high evasion boosts it can give. Since INT also gives MDEF, that will certainly help against particular monsters that are preeeetty bothersome.
- +2.5 ATK per INT
- Has a Higher ATK gain compared to STR
- Only 3 Weapons to choose from (so far)
- Along with ATK, MATK and MRES are also increased.

AGI or VIT
AGI
- +1 ATK per AGI (for Samurai only)
- Take less hits with higher AGI
- Does not effect ASPD of course
VIT
- Much higher HP base and DEF in exchange for evasion
- Also increases MDEF a little
- Edel Hood can be used to further increase MDEF equal to VIT.
