I’ve had a few people ask me about my special throw build in game, and I promised I would write a quick guide so they could have somewhere easy to access it.
The Problem
I think the reason you may be interested in starting a special throw build is because it gains attack off of the 3 defense stats (Int, Agi, and Vit). The problem with special throw though is that those stats only gain +1 atk per stat.
To illustrate this problem, a level 100 character with 300 stats using a special throw will literally have the same atk as a level 33 character using a sword dumping all their stats into str
Not good.
Fear not though. There are some things we can do to make special throw playable now.
My Solution
Cutting Hat II
ATK: 287 DEF: 0
ATK +4%, CRT +10, Critical Damage +10%, [X = CRT x 1.2] [ATK up by X] [Y = CRT x 0.06] [Critical Damage up by Y] Hate Rise +30%
Horned Helmet (Upgraded 4) [Additional]
ATK: 10 DEF: 14
VIT+18 ATK+13% KO time-1 sec Melee&Magic R+8% ATK up 60% of CRT
Hero Thrower Gloves
Trade X
ATK: 0 DEF: 0
[Throwing] [X = Lv] [X = X / 50] [Critical damage up by X] [ATK up by CRT] [MATK up by DEX] Unable to revive with pet heal
Using these equips as a basis for atk increase allows for +2.8 atk per crt
Again comparing to a sword, a level 33 sword user would have the same atk as a level 36 special character using these equips
Not bad. Now we’re cooking
Int, Agi, and Vit can be used as supplementary stats now with no problem seeing as how CRT is working 2 fold for atk and crit damage now.
My Build
This is my current status at the moment (+100 GR)
Crt is genuinely the only “important” stat it should always be maxed
The only other slightly interesting stats that I want to talk about is Str and Dex because they don’t have an obvious usefulness in this build
Str
Dex
Ironically Int, Vit, and Agi are the boring ones to talk about. Put however much into these as you think necessary. If you like more hp put more vit. Want to Sicarius longer? More int.
Personally, the status I’m going for at cap level/apos is:
321 Str
320 Int
175 Vit
200 Agi
165 Dex
473 Crt
100 GR
*edit* As of writing this post, I’m no longer 100% convinced of these stats, specifically Str and Int. 320 of both provides a 10 sec sicarius/assault. However, upon a second thought, I’m thinking I may cap Int and Str at 256 and put the remainder into Vit. The dmg should be about the same, the only difference being a slightly lower assault length (less damage under assault because there’s less backstab attempts) though having a much larger hp pool.
The gear is also pretty basic all things considered. I use one Nigdu to have the base attack at a pretty average level. Adding Dex enabled the use of additional gear element xtals. This is what I use though and an example of the dmg:

I’m not 100% that this is the most “optimized” version of the build but it gives this dmg (at level 358):
There are things you can change if you felt like it. For instance SBS with 2 nigdu should be 95% as effective as Hero Thrower Nigdu, however there is no longer a strength requirement outside of Sicarius. So you would be able to change the armor as well to something like Angel Caid, and use the extra stats for more defense. Union Sam is an option if you want to go a Dex-less route… there are quite a few options. I just wanted to document this for anyone who may be interested

I originally skipped Dex and wasn’t going to include it. I was using Union Sam to help pay for backstabs delay and thought that would be enough.
I forgot that Dex plays an important role for assassins in that it increases poison proc rate. So I ended up adding Dex and it ended up being a very good decision for something that I’ll get into later.
Sure it might be a “wasted” stat in terms of atk gain, but it’s a relatively small amount of atk loss because CRT should be maxed and the rest of the atk stats only give +1 per stat. Also Dex also contributes to dps thru hit and clean hit

I didn’t realize 360 skills would increase dmg so much… here’s post-360 dmg without shadow of wandering (I’m still working on it):
