Yes. But it's not a set that you can keep equipped for 100% of a boss fight. Bosses generally have 5 autoattacks, and most of those attacks are so weak that you cannot force them to hit +100k against you.
You need to know when the boss will use their powerful attacks. Sometimes, this is obvious (e.g. .
And sometimes, it's not obvious (e.g. 2:32 in . In this example, I knew Ferzen would use his purple Mana Burn attack because I datamined the boss fight. The Mana Burn attack is his "Attack 5", which he is coded to use as his third attack after the start of his stoneskin. In the irunawiki article for Ferzen (https://irunawiki.com/monster/ferzen_3402), you can see that his Mana Burn attack ignores up to(?) or equal to(?) 50% resistance, so it is a very powerful attack.
Here's another example,
Jabek has a mechanic that makes him stronger overtime. Eventually, you can force him to hit 100k with every attack except his Rate Cut attack. The formula of his Rate Cut attack's damage is just too low, and there's not enough Rate Cut-% on gear available. Besides Rate Cut-%, it's very hard (sometimes impossible) to make an enemies Rate Cut attack deal higher damage.
Against Nejua and Mish, you can make them hit +100k with 100% consistency because they have no weak attacks. But when Azimov protects you, it also resets your Hate to 0, so you're not able to keep aggro away from your party. You could use this to solo Nejua and Mish, but these bosses have pathetic drops, and it's really not hard to tank them with a resist set.
Generally, I don't think of Azimov set as a "set", or even as an Alchemist thing. Azimov is just an interesting tool that any class can use. Even in a fight where the tank is confident, maybe things don't go their way, and they get caught at low HP when they're about to receive an attack that will definitely kill them. In this case, they can quickly swap to Azimov set and have like a 40% chance to survive. As long as the boss doesn't use a weak attack, and doesn't use a multihit attack (Azimov doesn't work against these)
Any class can also use Azimov set against Nejua to continuously receive fatal damage, which can proc the Autoskill of Claiohm Solais (when you die: 1% chance to not die, Recover MaxHP, and apply [Limit Break] 30sec: ATK+50%, MATK+50%, Evasion up by Lv, Critical Rate up by Lv, ASPD+500%, DamageR+25%, MeleeR+50%, MagicR+50%, Half attack interval). This is most useful on Summoner, because when they summon wolves, the damage of the wolves is based on the ATK/MATK the Summoner had when they summoned the wolves. So a Summoner can make very strong wolves if they use Solais and all sorts of other methods to temporarily boost their ATK/MATK as high as possible; e.g.
