Forgive me for noob questions. I don't know much about combat mechanics, since I've always cheesed bosses. Now i need to learn how things work :v
1) Is melee R calculated differently from magic R? basically, what is the relationship between melee R, equips total DEF value, and body/add SR value. Do I want to have 95% melee R and a lot of the other 2 for extra protection, or is something like 40 melee R + body+9/add+9 + 37 total DEF treated the same as having 95% melee R?
2) what are the goals (or caps) that a perfect resist set would be trying to achieve (is it cap meleeR, 95% magicR, high DEF/MDEF, and anything else that can be squeezed in if it helps you survive, like rate cut, - ko time, etc ?)
3) Do some or most bosses use physical AND magical attacks? Is their auto-attack always physical? Would having two resist sets (one for magic, one for melee) be advisable, or is that a stupid/unneccessary idea.
4) in your opinion, is a set with 8 ufo luna xtal (+40% movespeed) useful? Is it feasible to kite bosses while equipping your poison damage gear after getting a good distance away from them, for faster kills?

1)Melee resist work against physical damage, magic resist work agains magical damage. Melee Res doesnt stack with def/refine from your armor/add, so youll need one of them close to 95% for a good physical resistance (or both, why not? :3). Your physical res will be increased if u increase your physical res% on eqps/xtals/als, even if your physical res is already 95% with their def. Same with the opposite, if your melee res% on gears/xtals/als is already 95%, increasing your refine from armor/add will make ur melee res even higher. 2)I dont think that a "perfect resist set" exists, but u sure can have a very high resistance and surv. In order, i consider the most important in a resist set: Melee/Magic Res - Rate cut - Negate/Reduce damage counter. High DEF and MDEf (on status) doesnt seem to help a lot, at least not against the newest bosses/mobs. Theres also elemental resistance, i havent tested it yet but will do as soon as i find a 2s d.mail seller p.p 3)Most of them are physical and magical, honestly i only know 1 boss who doesnt seem to use magic atks - Cordal. His atks are always physical and hp based 4)No. If you have any hate% from a mob/boss, any movement speed% will be reduced to the regular from free play, including the one from tickets, skills, consumables and gears. But may help if u want to do mqs or run long ways to kill a boss faster Tell me if any doubt still remains, my english isnt perfect yet so i cant explain everything clearly p.p

But from what you're saying, I could buy some Gasha and use my banked garbage to get a bunch of HP & cap all three
