I'm planning to turn one of my characters to alchemist and I've heard players say you don't need consumables for skills. It'll just make it a bit weaker. And others say you NEED them in order to use the skills so I'm a bit lost. Anyone can answer this for me?
Your buffs dont use them but your atks skill do(except for mana wave, mana bullet, and drain). Healing spells Also require items to cast but are much cheaper then Rev L. (mp heal doesn't consume an item either)
If the spell consumes an item then it only cost 1 mp. This means instead of carrying stks of mp and hp pots you carry stks of spells and 1 stk of rem(s) just I case a boss hits your mp.
Here is a quick list:
Throw revita 1k (basicly heal 2) Haze revita 1.5k (heal based on max hp) killer stk 2.5k (throw stick and bleed dmg) Poison bomb 5k (poison bomb and poison dmg) Ice flower 5k (blizzard) Star bead 5k (meteor and burn dmg) Cursed rosery 5k (cursed rain and cursed dmg)
At higher levels you don't always consume an item so you end up with more then u started with.
If your selling drops when farming, you should never run short on spina, especially in this economy.
Ah so the skills that require them, you must have those consumables on you or else the skill won't activate. But sometimes the skills don't use consumables. Ok I get it now. Thanks guys
Glad to help! ^_^
On a side note, review the stickied posts! I made one on dmg formulas which should give you a good idea on the best builds for dmg and the importance of prod levels. Also, the alchemist guide, by Krish, has some really good suggestions for gear and more information on skills and stuff I didn't cover.
