Y'all need to pt with a bs asassin to widen your POV's. xD Claws users =/= BS asassins. Though Claw users can USE backstab, it isn't considered a BS asassin because it doesn't revolve its build around BS thus not actually fully using BS's full potential. nailed the point.

so now enchanter tank, paladin tank, bishop tank, ninja tank, minstrel tank and even assassin is tanking? megaroche would die naturally while waiting for your party to kill it. 1) assassin with 1600 eva backstab barely even hit 10k mark and claw type assassin dont always use it either. my gm is an assassin if you need some clearance. 2) 570 eva is enough to solo ganei. monk can reach this too with the slightest eva equip. you dont need godlike evasion at this moment. 3) assassin dont have absolute evasion. they only have magic evasion. absolute evasion evade critical hits. the only problem with monk that i saw is the lack of essential stat of being a mage. INT. their mdef is next to useless. other than that, monk have magic resist built to their mastery which also should be counted. i never deny the fact that claw type assassin is a better one in surviving boss & soloing if solo is what you mean by strong. who is your gm? just curious. Im looking for people i can learn from

Having both monk and assassin, I find that they both have their advantages and whatnot on many factors, but ill list down the more important ones: Assassins and monks have nearly equal DPS, for claw assassins- due to skill buffs and double atk passive (activates more than shell break too, since crt benefits in dbl atk proc rate); for monk, rush will cover what assassins lack- maximum speed in attacking (this will make shell break seemingly activate more too, due to more attacks) While it's true that claw assassins don't usually use deathblow to hit maximum evasion, shadow walk is often ultilized. This would mean about at least 1k eva for a claw assassin. Thus assassins will have an edge in avoidance (some bosses require insane amt of eva to dodge them, like isuragi etc-1050 eva needed) Hp wise, monks have naturally high HP gain per level, further supported by hp boost passive/aegis, etcra. Thus can take in higher dmg than assassins, having an edge in the ability of standing up to dmg. (phrased that way as I feel that in a battle of tanking, less hits received from monsters will be factored too)
(...okay im lazy to type anymore, my fingers are tired)

With regards to soloing, monks with 60+ int can now heal 2k+ in a sec because of leather coat up. Coupled that with a decent amount of evade and naturally high hp they can spam heal. You could also put that into consideration.

You could also put that into consideration. or get a green glasses that raise matk by 30% of agi and atk by 30% of crt. by maxing agi they'll get matk to heal. nothing to lose.

I gotta admit, monks have amazing survival capabilities and support skills to keep them going compared to assassins but...

I've ever tried both Assassin (till Lv.140+) and Monk (till Lv.160+) and this is what i could said. Both is great classes, Assassin with Evading, Cure Skill, and Backstab damage and Monk with Geobreak, Lentus, and also several buffs.
The advantage of Assassin is, of course could solo most boss. They has Magic Evasion and it means magic attack won't be that bad. Their evasion also make them almost un-hit-able. The advantage of Monk is of course Bishop-like skills. Rush also make everything easier with cheat-like aspd. Monk could be more supporting in PT.
Both is great class, but it's up to you to made choose ^^

Agi Crt is the oroginal Stat of monk since they are claw mastery. And throwing mastery is the true nature of assasin in this game. If you talk about the true assasin vs true monk, assasin would have lacks of survivality due to lack of eva.

Have you seen the Assassin solo's? Have you seen the madness that is Flarius build? (I think his build is crazy tbh) Here just for you bud

I would rather have a assasin in my pt reasons why.... A) Assasins can hit almost 1600 evasion making them amazing tanks allowing them to dodge almost all moves. Monks do not have this. B) Backstab is always useful no matter which pt you are in. GeoBreaker is pretty cool but its almost never used. 3) Survial is key for soling causes. I don't understand where the whole "Monk is best solo class" came from. Unlike enchanter its crippled by magic atks. Magic atks aren't a problem for proper assasins due to their aboslute evasion stat. Compared to other "soloing" classes monk is at the mere bottom. All in all monk is a cool class..geobreaker is cool but not very useful unless boss has barrier. First time I saw someone say "lfm monk" was at rowell. so... to A) eva build monk can have 1200 eva, i know its not 1600 but can heal themselfs every 4 seconds to B) im using geo only to make target letargic, high lvl monk launch shell break around 1 for 10 attacks so normal ( non barier boss ) take 4-8 k dam, barier boss ( magnoza) can take 20k to 3 ( why not C?) as i write on heal every 4 sec, and standard monk build have mdef skill and int as a 3rd stat so that about mdef its a bit strange IM rly sory for my version of english ;]
