Been playing a lot of apps and I noticed that Iruna Online have things that make it different from the others:
Lack of ads. Lack of microtransactions.
Let's also add the obvious hacking of the app (bots, mods and speed hack) and RMT (real money trading)
I'm assuming all profits come from Coins, the app's premium currency. You can only get exp and drop boost, random item generators that get you avatars (no effect ingame, not certain you get the avatar you want either), some boosting items (not very significant in effects).
Will there be a lot of coins buyer to keep funding the app? I'm not into ads and microtransactions as much as the next guy, but I feel like it's necessary to keep an app going.
I'd love this app to keep running because even though I take breaks from time to time, I love coming back because the story is interesting.
Your thoughts?
Edit: Merry Christmas Iruna boards!

Developers will keep implementing things that can satisfy their users at the same time a strategy say for example the avatar system which is randomized making someone to spend another bucks just to get what they want. I have no problems with that, as you need money to run a game either from crowdsourcing or IAP sales, so funds keep going in to maintain the game.
Only two things that can make a shutdown is hacks that will make their IAPs useless say for example the speedhack instead of subscribing monthly or hacking coins (if ever existing) and second lack of interest to buy IAPs. I know a game that offer crap IAPs making me wonder who will buy those.
Even I spent alot of bucks just buying useful things not tickets though.
This game will end but not too soon (I hope)

We do have microtransactions in Iruna, it's just not the pay-to-win kind.
Tickets and coins are a type of microtransaction and that's how Iruna gets it's money.
I think they also have some brand events on jp server that must work much like product placement in movies and tv shows (the brand pays to appear in the game/movie/tv in the hopes of attracting new customers).
That being said the fact that most of iruna's microtransactions are cosmetic makes it feel nicer and like its not there at all. And for the ones that arent cosmetic they fall into 3 categories:
-The ones you can plan to go without (stefly, storage slots, extract, tickets) -The ones that would be nice to have but arent game breakers (Character slots, Pet slots, boss pets and all things from pet boxes) -The ones that are random or have an elevated cost when they are sure to get (Gear slotting items)
Also they keep us interested in those in app purchases by giving out some items for free (via stamps and the free boxes after events we used to have), having sales, giving incentives for buying a certain box a number of times and bringing back some of the old boxes/costumes/faces/hairs/dyes...
I think they are doing a nice job keeping the item shop always fresh with items we might like to buy and making sure the people that can't buy anything at one given moment dont feel disencouraged to play, after all there's always the possibility that those that can't buy now will buy in the future (be it when the economy gets better, when they get a job/part-time job, when they convince their parents to spend a little bit on it or when they get some birthday/xmas money gift, etc...)
