I think that the attributes that you have on your island not only determine what strays you get, but also determine how much pet affinity you have, and what plants you get.
According to the pinned Island Planting/Harvesting guide, one person used fruit seed (fertilizer: sweet nut) and got grapes one time, and oranges the next time. Another person used fruit seed (fertilizer: plant seed). One plant produced lemons, and the other produced big colon leafs, plant seeds, and mangos.
I think the only constant plants are the ones given pure water Fruit seed with pure water will always give melon, vegetable seed with pure water will always give potatoes, etc.
I also think that the more elements you have on your island, the more affinity your pet will get. I have a roar pet, and I used 5 white flowers to summon it. After I got it as a pet, I removed the flowers. The amount of affinity I got went way down (I used the same food and I always feed my pets when their status is "Hungry"). I then put the flowers back and got more affinity the next day.
Thoughts?

I removed my island objects and fed my worker an ore. He got 11affinity instead of the usual 30.

I think I'll remove everything on my island except for mini haniwas. Then I'll feed all the kijimus that appear flower nectar, and put a mini haniwa back in my inventory each time. It might show how much affinity increases and decreases because of island affinity. I'll post my results later :0

Okay, this is what I got: Constants: Use of Small Island, Pet food (Flower Nectar), fed stray at famine status then expelled, removed one Mini Haniwa (2 Earth Elements) each time.
Each time the Kijimu was satisfied. 25 Haniwa - 71 24 Haniwa - 71 23 Haniwa - 71 22 Haniwa - 71 21 Haniwa - 71 20 Haniwa - 70 19 Haniwa - 70 18 Haniwa - 69 17 Haniwa - 69 16 Haniwa - 68 15 Haniwa - 67 14 Haniwa - 67 13 Haniwa - 66 12 Haniwa - 66 11 Haniwa - 65 10 Haniwa - 64 9 Haniwa - 63 8 Haniwa - 62 7 Haniwa - 61 6 Haniwa - 60
