I just need 1 pet anyway, so do I still need the island items?

Hi,
Once you get your pet tamed (500 affinity points), you can take the items off of your island. If you take your items off your island, and the monster is still a stray, it will go away (but it will come back with the same amount of affinity, if you put back the island items back)

Meant to only take 1 Mini Haniwa off, but took all 6 instead and lost my stray kijimu. When I put all 6 back in, he came back with his previous affinity. |
