If you have enough matk you should be able to 1-hit neknotts

i used to do a lot of solo boss fights (Bossheit, Shojo, Dark Dragon Finstern). The trick is to be able to sell all rares (equipment, ability and xtal) which should add to spina. it is also fun that way than grinding mobs.
Mob grinding can be good with : Tarans, Neknotts, Baums, Sohar for the experience and the drops selling at NPC.
Recommendation: Try different mobs and bosses that you grind / solo - and figure out which works easy for you.
