Does the "Risk" number actually have some sort of tangible value? i.e: Risk 5 means 60% chance of failure, etc.

Also, when I use a Magic Hammer to increase my success rate, it says if it fails that my item will be "lost". Is it talking about the magic hammer? or is it talking about the actual item Im trying to refine?

What I do currently know,based on Magic Hammer's description,your equipment itself will turn to ash if you fail.

Another thing is that,if all squares are red bright shattered icon,it is very likely that you will fail to refine the equip.Full shattered-looking icon may represent 25% chance of failure and full bright shattered for 75%.

I also recall that a third icon also exist beside the two,though I can't confirm if its still there.

Note : The percentage of failure are purely estimation and can actually be wrong.
