Recently, there has been many imposters popping up in iruna, micmicing other popular players/players part of the big guilds. Those imposters are scamming and they pretend to be the real players. They often use special keyboards (such as the greek one) to micmic the players' name. They can also put special characters/symbols besides the name. I am also aware that there are tons of similar names coming from animes/novels like Sword Art Online, Naruto, etc, so be careful.
How to know if they're imposters? Look at their level. Imposters often target popular players or players from the big guilds as I said earlier. If the one you think is an imposter, is far behind the real player's level, it might be one. Also, those imposters often scam people and pretend to be the real players. So look out for the level and if they scam/do bad things.
This isn't meant to give ideas to imposters, this thread was meant to give a warning to all the community of iruna, to avoid misunderstandings. Please be careful and don't always believe in some stranger's words.
Edit:
To prevent further "I was scammed QQ" threads I will list common methods to watch out for, as a note any scammer thread that includes names will receive an immediate warning from now on.
The Quick Trade Method: The scammer puts the correct amount of Spina /the right item into the trade, then keeps cancelling until a 0 is missing from the amount of Spina or the item is a similar named item (it might even be the same item with lower def, no xtal, etc.), be careful when the player cancels the trades and take your time to check the trade twice before you confirm.
The Blackmail Method: The scammer gets to know you until he/she has something the person can blackmail you with. They might go as far as faking their whole identity by pretending to be someone else to remain anonymous. Pay attention to what you tell or send anyone online, it might be used against you. You will either have a loss of item/s, or will be left behind with emotional damage/bad reputation, which is worse than having a loss of items in some cases.
The "I'm new" Method: The person creates a new character and pretends to be a new player to ask for gear. Many people give new players freebies as an act of kindness.
The "Too many stacks" Method: When you buy items in bulk people may ask you to pay everything upfront, just don't. Pay them the value of the 4 stacks they trade you each trade.

To add onto this; Level up scam. The only safe way to buy a level service I have found is to pay by level or by monster killed. While this takes watching, effort, and constantly stopping to trade, paying all up front, all after, or half and half allows either person to just tp away and unparty.

Also before you trade make sure you know the items that you want to get. Luckily its all over the web, the stats, price etc.
Good Example are the upgraded items that retain the same names, Exelis is still Exelis even its on 3rd version so make sure to check the stats of the upgraded version before buying.

I know some1 has said in another post here somewhere, but there's some that use a hack to make say piton xtal, look like its a raton xtal in trade window, idk how to steer clear of this 1 but for the usual deal of checking their lvl 1st which generally shows if their fair dinkum or not, idk tho if any would use a disposable 200+ char to scam and if they are 200+ I suppose the other thing is some could just sell the acc and it's off their hands and some1 else's problem.
If any1 has ideas or suggestions to counter this trade hack or those who use it, I'd be interested to hear them.

I got scammed today with Ira set worth 23m with a black feather (primarily because i'm too noob to know the materials). He was still around rokoko when I came back so I sent him a mail and told him that what he sold me didn't work. Then blacklisted him. Then sent a fraud complaint to Asobimo. I wonder if they'll do anything about it. Does anybody have any experience on reporting to Asobimo for scams?
Anyway, I sold the materials to the NPC. I made 90m farming in a couple of hours so I don't feel too bad about it.
Moving on.

While this takes watching, effort, and constantly stopping to trade, paying all up front, all after, or half and half allows either person to just tp away and unparty. I want to elaborate on this a bit more. I mean not that newb players will ever know what the iruna forum board is or even exists... When someone makes a GC selling "S)Lvl 1-150," you really have to ask yourself are they really going to spend countless hours leveling you up? And if they give you a really cheap price for levels 1-150, you really don't have to think much about what's going to happen, especially if they ask you to pay first. People just don't realize that getting to 50-150 isn't easy, even if you sh or fish mq. I've seen the same scammers countless of times in iruna selling "lvl", and not to my surprise people still fall for it. I'm kind of tired of making a GC saying "so and so is a scammer, and beware," everytime I see a scammer making a GC, might as well make that person learn a lesson or two on trusting people so easily. I don't see why there isn't a thread with the names and images of known scammers, I mean there's a thread with speed hackers, what's the difference?

Hello all. IGN: Saratobi Class: Gladiator Level: 275 Recently it has come to my attention that a certain someone (im not sure who) is using an IGN very similar to mine. I do not know who this person is and he is in no way related to me. I haven't heard of any shadey dealings from him as of yet but i know hes attempting to sell GPC. If you can please avoid any trades with him. I do not trust this person and i would advise nobody else to trust him either Here is pictures of his ign he uses cryptic text in his name.
