Hi there, I was wondering if I'm doing Tailoring correctly, as I only gain 1 EXP per product. This seems mind-numbingly slow; how do players do this until cap? I'm only level 3 tailoring right now, and it's taken several hours to farm up the materials, and then producing. At what level does Tailoring become a good spina maker, and which product(s) would that be? Thanks

It's hard to say if you are doing it correctly when we don't know what recipes you are doing at what lv.
If you only do recipes that are the same level as you, then you are doing it wrong and will only get 0-1 exp per try. To get more exp pick a higher lv recipe, you can do any recipe that appears on your list. Try to keep recipes 5 levels above your current lv for the chance of getting 0-5 exp per try.
Also it's important to keep in mind that you will use around 1 stack of tools per level.

I was doing spider webs and red ribbons from 0 to 2, then soft cloths from 2 to 3. More than 1 stack was required per level. Will do tattered and lace cloths until 14.
EXP has almost always been 1, with a couple 2s and 3s, and one 4 out of around 350 tools used.
Most importantly, what can be sold from tailoring that is actually valuable in the market?

So far, the only difference I have seen between doing a New (i.e. close to 10 levels to cap) and Mid (~5 levels to cap) recipe is when strengthening. I seem to be able to go higher strengthening when I'm close or above the cap. Otherwise, I have not really seen a marked difference in leveling up points. In fact the only difference I have seen is so far (only 60 at highest, 20 lowest) is recipe dependent. Some recipes just seem to provide more pts than others. IIRC, ironballs to iron was the best I've experienced; I think I did 9 levels with only 8 stacks of ironballs lol. Blood Scythe is probably one of the worst barely getting 1 full level after making more than 150 of them, and strengthening wasn't much better.

Yup, I've been using the guide already. Tailoring just seemed really slow, and I just wanted to confirm if it's like that for everyone

Tailoring just seemed really slow, and I just wanted to confirm if it's like that for everyone depending on your lvl, in kreldan the monkies drop as a common puffy fur so that can help cut down on transition times from mob to store for tools, 10 furs for 1 cloth. otherwise try doing entry and lace, white feather, hgs if you have the patience, blacxk leather and sorciere and then pelt will be your best friend for about a lv above or below puffy cloth, have fun (disclaimer this was just how i did it, no way shape or form the easiest way to do it)

From what i noticed so far our exp gain decreases when we get closer to the recipe lv. I paid attention to that coz I was trying to compare with the jp wiki info. Imode Production exp Levels below recipe | Exp received | 5 levels | 0-5 | 4 levels | 0-4 | 3 levels | 0-3 | 2 levels | 0-2 | 0 - 1 levels | 0-1 |
English Production Exp (from my notes) Levels below recipe | Exp received | 10 - 5 levels | 0-5 | 4 levels | 0-4 | 3 levels | 0-3 | 2 levels | 0-2 | 0 - 1 levels | 0-1 |
No recipe gets more or less exp than another, but it is harder to level from a recipe that starts off as easy. That is simply because it has a high success rate and ends up consuming more material. The secret to level production is to have your recipes fail. That's another reason to change recipes after 5 levels, since the recipe will be getting easier and consuming more mats. When leveling your best result is : Fail, get exp, dont lose material Worst result is: success, no exp Everything else is a so-so result, not great, but not that bad.

Will try my best to remember to take pix, but I am 100% sure I have seen more than 1 or 2 when close to capping a recipe. MAYBE you see more 5s at earlier levels (10-5), but I am 100% sure it's not limited to those levels. In fact I got a couple of .4s when doing Sorcier last night and I didn't start them until almost cap (farmed almost 30 stacks of Black fur, lol)
