Disclaimer:
This is just a sample setup i used a while back and is NOT THE ONLY WAY to go about this so feel free to tinker with gears to get the results you need.
We all know what MB spammers and counter chanters are capable of, both already are beasts in their own league. The question is, why not be both at the same time?
My early prototype setup:
Snow Earmuffs ☆Autoskill lvl5 Tarna
Random Additional (accessory) ☆Autoskill lvl4
Exelis III Anubites
Resty Rod ☆Magic lvl5 Fiona
Lotus Seed Anubites
You would notice that there are tons of -skill delay with this setup because i wanted to be able to use almost all of my skills with 1SD, you could actually swap the Exelis for a DPR (free counter,+3% autoskill rate + a slot for a matk xtal, and cheap lol) and Ushilth on additional for the necessary -SD to spam MB. As for Anubites, well, those are the only available counter xtals i had that moment and too lazy to get Sofys, lol. Swap them out for Sofys if you have em of course. For special equip, you could use Dragonewt or any slotted special available.
The Build:
Build would be conventional INT/VIT/DEX, max INT no matter what. Your choice to overcap DEX or VIT (I chose VIT to be able to tank more mobs) or some other stat to your preference.
The Output:
Tested this build on Nommars with Water Origin (bad choice of test subject, i know). Now the Anubites counter does silly damage alone, but when the Resty buff activates it soars to 10-12k/counter and man i can't tell you how often the buff and counters proc. Idk by how much Sofys eclipses Anubites in damage so i'll leave that to the seasoned counter chanters. Snow earmuffs' counter does around 18k without Resty buff, and a whopping 24k with it. So with all the counters proc at once, you get more or less 42k damage. From counters alone.
Now the Magic Blade component of this build. You should be doing around 10k melee and 20k magic damage without Resty buff, give or take. With resty buff, the magic side goes up to 30k+. That's about 40k in MB.
Should you be able to proc all counters at once (which isn't that unlikely really) plus MB, you could do almost 80k damage in an instance! Now i haven't really tried the anubites/sofys counter on bosses but the snow earmuffs' counter does very good damage.
Pros and Cons:
- Pros
*Fast-kill setup for multi-mobbing
*Doubles the boss-farming capability of counter chanters due to still being able to spam MB
*Wouldn't have to wait to get hit to deal DPS
*Easily switch to full MB or full Counter with some gear swaps (stat build is the same)
- Cons
*Setup expensive as hell
*Still haven't tested this build on higher-end bosses (and i'm afraid i cannot anymore since i dedicated my gears to full MB spam) so boss farming capability is still questionable.
*More things to balance, Skill delay, autoskill proc rate, survivability, etc.
So what are your opinions? Gear and build suggestions welcome.
