Anybody figure out how this thing works?
As far as my experience goes, it only protects my pet when I solo grind. On the battle log it shows devotion activating and I see a fire aura on my pet. So my pet never dies when I farm Mezzaluna but when in a party, it doesn't seem to save anybody. No records on the battle log, no fire aura.
And it doesn't seem to protect from other range attacks as well because my pet dies when I grind Zazel (although I still see devotion trigger on some attacks, but not all of them).
I've tried asking people to stand near to me thinking it might be a small AoE effect but it doesn't seem to be working.

Well yeah I suppose it works that way. I just feel uncertain because there is no report on battle log and there is no fire aura, unlike what I get when it procs on a pet. Also my pets hp is flawless which means it procs 100% of the time.

although i dont have paladin, but i wanna does devotion trigger rate can be boosted by autoskill stat? I don't think autoskill has anything to do with it. Per my experience: versus Mezzaluna with Pet - Devotion works 100% (mezzaluna can never harm my pet, not even 1 damage). I noticed my pet gets fire aura and I assume this is when devotion has triggered. Without devotion, my pet dies. versus Mezzaluna with party - my party mates die from AoE, I tried to get them close to me to test if it is because of range, but devotion still fails me. Almas - sometimes it saves my pet, sometimes it doesn't. Sauro - seems to kill my pet everytime. My feeling on this skill is that there are certain attacks that can be blocked by devotion and some that cannot be blocked. I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with the amount of damage, but that is just a hunch.

For what i have tested on this, it works better when the party members are clorer to the pally, that's why it's very effective on pets, when i party with really weak pt members, i recommend them to stay near, when that happens, the fire aura activates, sometimes it shows as "miss" and other times shows 0 damage received, but when they start to run away, they get caught t on the enemy aoe and die immediately.
Devotion works on aoe attacks as long as the pt members are near the pally, and as long as the pally is the target of the enemy attacks, devotion cancels aoe attacks, but when another pt member steals the hate from the enemy, it gets directly hit and devotion is invalid.
Also, the proc rate depends on (for what i have felt) -the difference on lvl between enemy and pally (high lvl enemies are harder to get it activated) -range of the attack (aoe with very wide attack range) -damage of the attack (strong hits are harder to make it proc)
This is all by experience, but definitely works better when near the pally

i see, devotion probably beneficial only closed range classes like gladiator. some long range class like snipers probably just prefer stay and attack way father from paladin. it would be better if devotion range is unlimited party-wide range like HP&MP recovery autoskill on lv260 gladiator bloodthirst skill.
if you ask me that gladiator autoskill definitely mimicking devotion skill.
