When a Paly gets the stunparry/parry passive increase from using a shield is it in the paladins best interest to switch to using a shield? Assuming a paladin is above the level to get that skill, what is the best in slot for general tanking/hp set. Including xtals if not a 20%.
I mean a lot of the best tanking gear additionals aren't shields so, do people toss their Ideasol/wolf ears for example for a shield?
If so what is the best shield for that category (general tanking/hp set)

It doesn't increase my stun parry damage and I'm unsure if it improves my parry rate but I can see that the negate damage procs sometimes so it's good enough for me.

Didn't know equipping an accessory would actually be a viable option. That would solve the immediate issue anyways. Is that confirmed by anyone else to work? Not that I don't believe you, I mean it did work with the Santa hat thing.

You wont see 0dmg without shield.

As a Paly shouldn't really be too worried about dpsing, but free dps gains are always welcome. I was looking at the duel shield and it actually looks like a good contender to the general tanking set, although I'd still probably would rather use an Idealsol in that case, unless the gains in proc damage overcomes stat differences. If proc rate doesn't increase then it's not really something I feel like I should be worried about. I would've hoped the increase would be like 20% proc rate with shields.

I mean comfortably it's not hard to get over 100k hp now. For the most part it's just grind grind grind. Which faster grinds I would assume relates to more guardian damage, which stems from more hp. Haven't really tried an attack build, but don't really know if it's worth creating an entire set just for attack, when hp seems to do a good job. Granvia stats?

Does anybody know how parry rate is determined? I noticed the hoplon up has a def bonus based on agi. Could it be that agi affects parry rate? Anybody tried a agi build with parry for comparison?

I just assumed that it was related to autoskills like basically all passives other jobs get.. Don't know that for a fact though.
Don't know if anyone would bother with a full autoskill build though, hate would probably be an issue.
