Hello everyone, I'm Clairvoyance! Or Far Cry in-game. I just wanted some input of a build i was trying to put together that would utilize Support with a long range character. Of course a mage would be best for the job but mage is a bit tricky for me to use and a ranger just fits me more.
My build would utilize: ~Support Tree ~Survival Tree ~Battle Tree ~With a Dex/Agi/Crit or Dex/Agi/Int stat build.
The Support Tree would be the main purpose of the tree. To aid allies in battle.
The Battle Tree to buff your stats such as Evasion, Atk, or Crit rate. Maybe MP beneficial buffs too.
The Survival Tree to increase your Max MP since the Dex/Agi/Crit build would lack in Int. Although this problem can probably be avoided by using rings that grant additional MP.
This is my first time coming up with my own build or even posting anything similar to this on forums. I would very much appreciate if you took some time to critique my build. What do you like? What did you disagree with? What would you change? Please feel free to go in as much detail as you please! ^^ Thank You!

In my opinion,it will really be effective if you consider to also include Mana Recharge within your skill choices. If you prefer spending the skill points on other skill rather, then you may want to get equips with Attack MP Recovery + stats to further boost your mana regeneration through normal attacking. You may also include the Special Device equipment (forgot name) which helps you cut the aggro rate by -25% to help you from being a target of the mob while supporting your party. Other than that,I'll consider at least investing point on your very first Archer skill, the Power Shot,to provide a breaking chance for your party,in the case you are farming a breakable part of a boss.Of course, this is only optimal and are not essential to being a full supporter. One last way,is the Trial and Error way.Experiment with multiple build, skill trees and equipment to find the best and most effective way of being a ranged yet Non-Magic supporter.Just keep in mind the game itself always change and no build can overrun others and will have their own weakness in their own way.Good luck

Where would i find the skill? The magic weapon would be a nice touch also but wouldn't it limit the skills I could use ( I understand that it wouldn't matter since your using support but the purpose of this build is to DPS but have some ability to support your group at the same time)? I understand that the magic weapon also reduces agro but I would just being at a far distance at all times or in mid range. Far to support the long distance classes and mid to support the close combat classes. I noticed that skills like life recovery and mana recovery would deactivate upon getting hit so thats why i chose ranger over the warrior and knuckle user since they are in close with bosses. I got the idea from Celes Arca actually. In that game the gunner was the support class rather than a mage. Gunners had nice dps while also having good supportive capabilities.

Oh my,hahaha. It seems you misunderstood about the device part.I was not referring to the Magic Devices such as Magi Klug,Magi Vein and Crystal L.Instead,I was talking about Spy's Talisman, one of the Special equipment you may find available to be made from the blacksmith NPC (Given you have the requirement level) or a player with Blacksmithing skill. Used correctly, this Special type equipment helps you alot in term of cutting down your aggro rate, and at the same time, boosting your MaxMP.In other word, you may still use a Bowgun or a bow for your ranger. Keep in mind that the Bowgun have the upper hand in term of damage, and maybe Tumble (The breaking point, occured by chance as the target is inflicted with Power Shot) occurence rate while the Bow on the other hand, may have faster MP Regenerating capability, with the chance of Double-Normal shot (The part where your character shoot twice at once at a fixed rate),and faster attacking speed.Pick your best weapon suited to your Support role. Now,the next question. I did put into mind using the MP regen skill but i thought it was a mage only skill though I have seen other classes use it. Where would i find the skill? There is NO limit to using whichever Skill Tree you want!(Except if you have low spina). The options where you choose your class during the Initial Character Creation simply offers you that particular class skill tree availability at the starting of that Character Gameplay. In other word, even if you are a Warrior/Fist User/Archer,you may still use the Mage Skill Tree. With the exception of Mana Recharge skill however, any type of Magic Offensive Spell/Skill will not be available for usage whenever a Magic Device/Staff or Rod are not equipped. For Mana Recharge, there is one disadvantage when you use them with any other equip than Staff/Rod (This includes Magic Devices),that is,the time for casting Mana Recharge will be longer than it usually is when casting while Staff/Rod is equipped. (Example:Mana Recharge Level 10 1.Casted with Sword/Fist/Magic Device/Bow/Bowgun/Two-Handed Sword = Time takes to cast : 3.45 seconds 2.Casted with Staff/Rod = Time takes to cast : 2.45 seconds) Hope this answers your inquiry and good luck with building your character .

The quick ring is my choice for support gear sure you take -50% to atk but your aspd I +100% and mpregen+100%. I usually switch to this ring in a prty if im already not getting the dps award and then I just assist with breaks and casting mini heal for support. I use a magic device with mainly pure agi with a smidge of crt normal dps setup im at 304dmg 968aspd very effective with quick ring mp earing setup im at 152dmg 1450aspd. I also have the mp and hp regen at lvl 10 also mainly I find its a easy way to always get support reward and also pull the breaker reward and also tank reward 3 out of 4 is pretty alright for me lol.

Thanks for the information! I haven't heard of the Quick Ring before, is it craftable? I also seen another post of your saying that int doesn't increase your mana pool so im guessing i can throw the Dex/Agi/Int stat build out the window unless it will help with stronger heals or what not. Ive noticed that dex increases your cast speed too so dex will increase both damage and decrease spell cast times! DOUBLE WIN!

From what I have seen so far,it would seem that you do not prioritize damage.Well then,if you seem to have no problem in always attracting the target's aggro, you can dump the idea of using Spy's Talisman and instead, switch with Quick Ring ( Yes,it's craftable, look at my picture consisting Special type equipment to craft). It's also true so far in game, that Intelligence status does not increase your Mana Pool so far however hahaha,so yes, that is another thing to be taken out anyway.

Also from what I have seen is that mini heal isn't effected by stats other than the level of the skill itself I think.

The build is working out amazing for me! I love it. It combines two of my favorite things, healing and dps. Im still practicing soloing trying not to get hit while mh buffs are up and trying not to draw agro while in party because that seemed to be a issue. I decided to add a tiny thing to my build. While it is a support build I i had noticed that some of the skills in the bow/gun tree were dedicated to debuffing the enemy (Slow, Paralysis, etc.) So I took into account add these skills along with power shot. So now not only can I buff my team but i can also hinder the enemy as well.

Int doesn't effect mp or support skills, crit stat only affects rate and not dmg.
Take crit only after dex is maxed,
With bow gun take charge for mp.
With bow wear armor that boosts aspd. Wolf armor an cape gives 300 aspd total. Rely on attacks for mp
Support skills can pull a lot of Agro, but mini heal is decent for anyone.
Those status skills that inflict paralyze and slow are only useful for tough bosses.... Bulls Eye, Arrow Rain, and Aggro reducing skills are a must.
If you really want a damage support build try a pure agi magic device user. It's a range weapon with damage based on agi. You can take all support skills and mana skills and still do good damage with ranged attacks.
