blah blah information about builds / things you can do
If you generally know the mechanics of a 450 boss, then there's 3 things you need to look out for.
1) The bosses CRT stat
The Critical damage multiplier and critical rate of the boss is calculated based on their CRT stat. You can reduce their critical rate to as low as 5% if you have high mAGI, so there will always be an ideal amount of mAGI to have. Having 1 mAGI is always wrong.
2) The bosses powerful autoattacks
Their weak attacks will do literally nothing if you are using any kind of tank gear, so you should only look at their strong attacks. All attacks will do normal damage using the damage formula (which involves the bosses STR & DEX, your gear DEF, resists, etc). And then there are 2 additional considerations.
2a) If the attack has a Pierce value, that means your Resist is treated as being reduced by the Pierce value during damage calculation. For example, when you are hit by a Magic Hit with 50% Pierce, your MagicR is treated as being reduced by 50 for that damage.
2b) If the attack has a Rate Cut value, that means you are taking additional fractional damage. For example, if you are hit by an attack with 70% Rate Cut, an additional amount of damage equal to 70% of your MaxHP is added to the normal damage of the attack.
2c) An attack can have a Pierce and a Rate Cut value.
Because of the way damage reduction works, enemy magic attacks are far more dangerous than enemy physical attacks.
3) The debuffs
Check the debuffs of the boss fight, for any stat penalties that will cause you to take more damage.
Ferzen
20 CRT
crit damage multiplier: 1.605x
crit rate 11.5% if you have 1 mAGI,
crit rate 5% if you have ≥ 67 mAGI
Mana Burn (0% probability, this attack occurs at 5 fixed timings during the fight)
Unavoidable Physical Hit (guaranteed Critical) with 50% Pierce
Shell Break (0% probability, this attack occurs at 4 fixed timings during the fight)
Unavoidable Physical Hit with 95% Pierce and 95% Rate Cut
After 5sec, then every 35sec after this Mechanic previously ended,
• apply [Curse] 20sec: MeleeR-25%, MagicR-25%, Damage Cut-50%, EarthR-25%
• (you also take a small amount of damage every 1sec, up to the number of Ailments on Ferzen)
After 20sec, then every 50sec thereafter,
If you are Ferzen's highest aggro target
• apply [Cover] 20sec: Hate Rise-200%, Heal Reward-999%
Strategies:
Dark Sight beats Myrica at this boss. Do not use Myrica, unless you are comfortable with the damage that the Shell Break attack can do to you.
MagicR is not useful in this fight.
The Mana Burn attack has a huge AoE area, so you should always keep max distance from Ferzen. Ideally, your party will position themselves diagonal from you, at the other side of Ferzen, as this will maximize their distance from you. You shouldn't be dying to this attack, but it will kill your party members very often.
You will need very high Rate Cut to survive the Shell Break attack, although that should be very obvious. What's not obvious is that you will get hit by this attack under many different combinations of circumstances.
1) You might not be at full HP.
2) You might be dizzied from his Sniping attack (you take more damage while Dizzied)
3) If you have the Curse debuff, the normal damage of Shell Break and Mana Bomb will deal much more damage.
4) Ferzen's STR increases slightly as his HP gets lower, and this will make the normal damage become higher.
5) Ferzen might use this attack after the 75% and 35% HP mechanic that puts everyone in the center of the map with half HP. It is very easy for the party to wipe if this happens, unless there is a tank with very high damage mitigation and Rate Cut.
You can mitigate this risk by making Ferzen chase you around the edge of the map when he is close to 75% and 35% HP. The Shell Break attack only has a Range of 10, so when you get moved to the map center, Ferzen will have to walk to you, which gives everyone time to separate and heal.
Blaiard
30 CRT
crit damage multiplier: 1.655x
crit rate 14.9% if you have 1 mAGI
crit rate 5% if you have 100 mAGI
180 CRT after his HP is 30% or less,
crit damage multiplier: 2.405x
crit rate: 64.9% if you have 1 mAGI
crit rate: 18% if you have 470 mAGI
Meteor Storm (4.37% probability, also occurs at 6 fixed timings during the fight)
Unavoidable Magic Hit with 40%-50% Rate Cut
After 20sec, then every 40sec thereafter:
• apply [Elemental Defense] 20sec: DamageR-50%, FireR-50%
Strategies:
Dark Sight should beat Myrica at this boss, Blaiard's only somewhat-dangerous attacks are his rate cut attacks. He has no Pierce in any attacks.
Blaiard is.. not hard.
Having high mAGI will help you reduce his critical rate.
You can remove his [Elemental Defense] debuff with All Around pet skill.
In addition to Blaiard's STR and INT increasing as his HP gets lower, it also slightly increases every 20sec, so he will become stronger if the fight lasts a long time.
Apart from that, there is no strategy, Avoid mechanics and kill the boss.
Kaiser
30 CRT
crit damage multiplier: 1.655x
crit rate 14.9% if you have 1 mAGI
crit rate 5% if you have 100 mAGI
Fire Lance (6% probability)
Unavoidable Physical hit with 30% Pierce and 30% Rate Cut
Thunderbolt (39.37% probability, also occurs as Kaiser's next attack after the Green Aura appears under you)
Unavoidable Magic Hit with 120% Pierce
Nemesis (4.37% probability)
Unavoidable Physical Hit with 60-80% Pierce and 60-80% Rate Cut
Immediately, if your HP falls below 30000:
• apply [Light Element] 20sec: Melee to Light-100%, Melee to Neutral-100%, LightR-50%, NeutralR-50%, Dark Magic-100%
Strategies:
Myrica should beat Dark Sight at this boss, just because the Thunderbolt attack is too dangerous, and occurs too often.
It's hard to write a strategy for Kaiser, because he's just strong.
Super high MagicR (maybe even above 150%) will help a lot, if the Thunderbolt is doing too much damage.
The Nemesis attack occurs much less often, so it's probably fine to have high Rate Cut and just tank whatever normal physical damage it does to you.
The debuff given by the orb mechanic doesn't really affect Alchemist, but the mechanic does a lot of damage if it hits you, so you should try to avoid it. If you can't avoid it, run to either the center, middle-north, middle-south, or any corner, so you only get hit by 1 orb explosion.
Vatendeth
50 CRT
crit damage multiplier: 1.755x
crit rate: 21.56% if you have 1 mAGI
crit rate 5% if you have 167 mAGI
125 CRT after his HP is 14% or less,
crit damage multiplier: 2.13x
crit rate: 46.56% if you have 1 mAGI
crit rate: 5% if you have 417 mAGI
No dangerous attacks
When the 40% HP parameter activates,
• apply [Strength] 20sec: Melee to Boss-80%, Magic to Boss-80%, Autoskill-80%, Shellbreak-80%
After 40sec, then every 50sec thereafter (delayed if either circle mechanic is currently ongoing), the Hate of the party is shifted.
The aggro leader will have their Hate reduced by 28000, and given this debuff.
• [Hate] 20sec: Hate Rise-100%, MeleeR-60%, MagicR-40%, Movement Speed during Combat-10%
And the other players will have their Hate increased by 28000, and given this debuff.
• apply [Hate] 20sec: Hate Rise+150%, MeleeR-80%, MagicR-80%, Movement Speed during Combat-40%
Strategies:
Myrica beats Dark Sight at this boss. Dark Sight is still acceptable, but you really need to mitigate the DamageR-20% with Large Shield pet skill.
If you have low resists because you rely heavily on disables, he will hit very hard while you have the [Hate] debuff. And he could kill you when he gives you the [Strength] debuff, because your Autoskill% will be gone. But the main problem is the hate shift mechanic. It is hard to keep Vatendeth's aggro on one player, and if your Hate is reduced to 0 by the mechanic, your Poison/Bleed/Burn/Drain immediately expires.
His damage varies a bit, because he has a mix of magic and physical attacks with low amounts of Pierce or Rate Cut.
After 14% HP, he will only use two weak single-target physical attacks with low pierce, but his STR and CRT increases dramatically. However, Vatendeth attacks so slowly, so there is infinite time to heal between his attacks.
Stay away from Vatendeth when his white circle is about to fade. If you are too close to him, you get a debuff that reduces your ElementR by 75%, and you don't want that.
Throughout all this, it's important to remember that Vatendeth is super weak. Avoid the mechanics, and it's impossible to wipe on him.
Fallen Angel Grecia & Dark Crystal
Grecia: 20 CRT
crit damage multiplier: 1.605x
crit rate 11.5% if you have 1 mAGI,
crit rate 5% if you have ≥ 67 mAGI
Dark Crystal: 1 CRT
crit damage multiplier: 1.605x
crit rate 5.3% if you have 1 mAGI,
crit rate 5% if you have ≥ 4 mAGI
Grecia's Mana Burn (1.5% probability)
Unavoidable Magic Hit with 50% to 80% Pierce, and it stuns you for 5sec
Dark Crystal's Shell Break (11.2% probability)
Unavoidable Physical Hit with 140% Rate Cut
Dark Crystal's Bandit 2 (0% Probability)
[RED MARKER ATTACK] Unavoidable Physical Hit (guaranteed Critical) with 50% Pierce
Strategies:
MeleeR is not very helpful in this fight. Most attacks are Magical.
Overcapping your MagicR as high as 130% will be very helpful for reducing the damage from the bosses weak to medium attacks.
It's not a difficult fight, but there's a lot of small things to keep track of.
1)
There are two bosses.
In fights with 1 boss, you can get into a rhythm of healing inbetween attacks. If that 1 boss is paralyzed, there will at least be 3sec inbetween each of their autoattacks.
But having 2 bosses can create a lot of unexpected variance. You could receive a strong attack from Grecia, and then immediately receive a strong attack from Dark Crystal.
You also have to keep track of ailments on two targets. Use the 'Change Target' feature to swap between them, and keep Paralysis up.
Dark Crystal has 50% ParalysisR, so prioritize refreshing his Paralysis earlier, to allow extra time in-case you fail to apply it for a while.
2)
Keep your MP above 50% full. While it is less than 50% full, every 2sec your HP will be drained equal to the difference between [your Current MP] and [50% of your MaxMP].
(e.g. if you have 10k MaxMP and your Current MP is 2k, the drain to your HP will be 3k)
This shouldn't be an issue for Alchemists because we generally have high MaxHP and low MaxMP. It will be a problem for other classes that use high MaxMP, especially if they need to switch to a MaxMP+% set, which will cause a very high HP drain since their MP is now very empty. You might need to throw out some MP Recharges for this.
3)
Avoid the purple circles. You have 5sec to run away from them before they explode. If you get stunned for 5sec by Grecia's Mana Burn, you won't be able to run away from it fast enough. You should be using the 2 Boss Relics with K.O. Time-1sec and possibly an Orin AI.
If someone gets hit by a purple circle explosion, the debuff will give them MaxMP-85%, MP Cost+100%, and also reduce their HP by 80% of their MaxHP. When this debuff expires, their MaxMP will return to normal, which will immediately put that player in a state where there MaxMP is nowhere near being full, so their HP will immediately start being drained. You can MP Recharge them here, unless they can heal it on their own..
4)
If any player has been burned for 8 continuous seconds, Dark Crystal will make them the highest aggro target and teleport closer to them (imagine the map as a 3x3 square, and Dark Crystal teleports to that players 3x3 square, in that square's corner that's closest to the center). After teleporting to a player, the timer that tracks how long that player has been burned for resets. Each player has their own timer for this, so Dark Crystal will be teleporting all over the place if everyone is burned.
The purple circle explosion burns any player that it hits, and both bosses are capable of inflicting a burn through one of their autoattacks. For this reason, you should always bring a Sniper to this fight, so they can give everyone the burn vaccine skill.
5)
When Grecia is below 60% HP, some mechanics slightly change.
5a)
The purple circle placement changes from [every 35sec] to [every 25sec], and the number of purple circles that can exist simultaneously changes from [2] to [4].
5b)
When Dark Crystal teleports to a player that's been burned for 8sec, he will also use his Bandit 2 Attack. This is a red marker attack, so you can avoid it by running out of the red marker on the floor. If you are in the red marker when the attack resolves, you are treated as being hit by it, and damage calculation occurs as it normally would.
It's easy to think of Red Marker Attacks as "Instant-kills", but they are really just autoattacks that are programmed in a unique way. This is just a Physical Hit with 50% Pierce. If you can survive that, then it's ok to let it hit you. It will also push you away if it hits you, but this doesn't really matter.
6)
Dark Crystal's Shell Break attack is very powerful, and he has an 11.2% chance of using it. You will want to have very high Rate Cut for it, and maybe even overcap your Rate Cut. It's a single target attack, so only the tank has to worry about it, but the aggro might change if the burn mechanic forces them to become the aggro target. But this won't happen if you bring a Sniper.
7)
Turn brain off.
If you have a good Mins and Sniper, you can just have your party stand in one place, get hit by every purple circle mechanic, and completely ignore the mechanics by outhealing them. Alchemist is never at any risk of dying because we have Stimiser, so you can revive everyone if something goes wrong.
If you generally know the mechanics of a 450 boss, then there's 3 things you need to look out for.
1) The bosses CRT stat
