Hello mortals. Just gonna share this detail if u ONLY about to pick some crysta/al in your build. This is only theory and it seems accurate.
*Base variable, can be manipulated further by items stat. Atk - 1000 C.dmg% - 1.5 Melee% - 0 Melee to element% - 0 Melee to boss % - 0 Fixed melee - 0
>>If u about to choose between zazel and valtia al<<
*Zazel (atk+15, atk+2%) ((1000+15) x (1+(2%)) x 1.5)= 1552.95 dmg
*Valtia (atk+3%) (1000 x (1+(3%)) x 1.5)= 1545 dmg
Result - Zazel win
>>if u about to choose raton, nigdu and ideaus on add<<
Raton (c.dmg+14%, atk+6%) (1000 x (1+(6%)) x (1.5+(14%))= 1738.4 dmg
Ideaus (atk+15%) (1000 x (1+(15%)) x 1.5)= 1725 dmg
Nigdu (atk up by lv= at lv160, atk+160) ((1000+160) x 1.5)= 1740 dmg
Result- Nigdu win if ur lvl is 160 or above, 3 sec stun.
>>if u about to choose sauro ii and nigdu on weapon<<
*Sauro ii (atk+15%, melee pierce+5%, if the target have 1k def, u reduced the target def to 950 def. The formula is *target def* x (melee pierce%)= reduced def=extra raw atk) ((1000+50) x (1+(15%)) x 1.5)= 1811.25 dmg
*Nigdu (atk up by lvl,char lv 210= atk+210) ((1000+210) x 1.5)= 1815 dmg
Result- its hard to say which one is better with nigdu its possible to get 400+ raw atk depend on lvl, but using nigdu at lv 210 still can beat sauro ii 5% melee pierce. And some skill also boost the melee pierce means more additional raw atk on high def target such as bk rapid fang (claw).
I guess there is still more to explore. Maybe i will add more theories later.

Comparison between 200 str, 100 crt against 100 str, 200 crt build. Weapon normal claw
Base c.dmg - 1.5 C.dmg rise by CRT - CRT/200 = x
*200 str, 100 crt build* 200 str x 2 = 400 atk 100 crt/200 = 0.5 +1.5 = 2 c.dmg
400 atk x 2 c.dmg = 800 dmg
*100 str, 200 crt build* 100 str x 2 = 200 atk 200 crt/200 = 1 + 1.5 = 2.5 c.dmg
200 atk x 2.5 c.dmg = 500 dmg
Result- 200 str, 100 crt is better than 100 str, 200 crt build.

Comparison between 200 agi, 100 crt against 100 agi, 200 crt build. Equipped with SPECIAL BOW, 1 agi = 2.5 atk, 1 crt = 1 atk.
Base c.dmg = 1.5 C.dmg raise by CRT= CRT/200 = X
*200 agi, 100 crt* 200 agi x 2.5 = 500 atk 100 crt x 1 = 100 atk 100 crt/200 = 0.5 + 1.5 = 2 c.dmg
(500 atk + 100 atk) x 2 = 1200 dmg
*100 agi, 200 crt* 100 agi x 2.5 = 250 atk 200 crt x 1 = 200 atk 200 crt/200 = 1 + 1.5 = 2.5 c.dmg
(250 atk + 200 atk) x 2.5 = 1125 dmg
Result- 200 agi, 100 crt win against 100 agi, 200 crt build for special bow user.

How about weapon and equipment ATK, job bonus and xtal like Nigdu?
Let's say @300 sword +9 refinement, 300 x 1.9(approximately) = 570
Add 400 STR, 400 DEX, 300 CRT (570+1200+400)*(1.5+1.5) 6510
Add 400 STR, 300 DEX, 400 CRT (570+1200+300)*(1.5+2) 7245
CRT wins

I think i can understand why crt stat can win over other stat. Its because the involvement of more than 2 kind of stat. Lets take ur example data n convert to agi, str, crt and normal claw user. 400 str, 400 str, 300 crt (800+800) * (1.5+1.5) = 4800 400 str, 300 str, 400 crt (800+600) * (2+1.5) = 4900 400 Crt wins. This make me feel very curious. How could this happen? Does increasing c.dmg over 300% could make CRT is more worth to spend than other stat? Edit: im pretty sure more kind of stat type involvement does not play any important effect. 100% sure when c.dmg is OVER 300% crt stat is worth more to spend than other stat.

Make another calculation Fixed variable- normal claw user
400 str, 400 agi, 300 crt (800+800) * ((300/200)+1.5) = 4800
400 str, 380 agi, 320 crt (800+760) * ((320/200)+1.5)= 4836
Once ur c.dmg% goes more than 301%, CRT stat can win over other stat dat gives 1 or 2 atks by weapon type. Could be different for normal sowrd and spec claw user cuz str gives big atk compared to other weapons.
400 str, 400 agi, 300 crt (800+800) * ((300/200)+1.5) = 4800
400 str, 398 agi, 302 crt (800+796) * ((302/200)+1.5) = 4803
We make another great discovery today

We are comparing base ATK formula here so we can't ignore another base ATK+ from another source. Example: (1)200str 200agi 100crt vs (2)200str 100agi 200crt, normal claw (1)800 * 2 =1600 (2)600 * 2.5=1500 Now add weapon base ATK 200, max refine, so 200 * 1.9=380 (3) (800+380) * 2=2360 (4) (600+380) * 2.5=2450 I think no.3 and 4 is closer to reality. Well to be more precise at predicting between which is better between adding another base ATK or adding more crt dmg we should take the whole equipment/skill stat that involves base ATK and crt dmg.

Normal sword Base ATK 305 × 1.83 = 558
440 STR = 1,320 ATK 440 DEX = 440 ATK 400 CRT = 2 + 1.5
(1,320+440+558) × (3.5) = 8113
440 STR = 1,320 ATK 400 DEX = 400 ATK 440 CRT = 2.2+1.5
(1,320+400+558) × (3.7) = 8,428
I think adding CRT next to your main stat is the better option overall since you already recieve quite high ATKs from gears and crysta making the ATK you receive from substat meh. Also a good reason and option for tower spec user.

How about Elemental on weapon VS Sauro II ?
Character Lvl: 388 Stats: 408 STR 358 DEX 400 CRT
Mirror Sword+9 TST Sturm Elemental :30% vs Water ATK: 305 × 1.83 = 558 ATK+18% STR up by Lv = 19.4 (20) Melee up by Lv = 388 Enemy Lvl: 200 Enemy Def: 58 RNG: 0
Total ATK: 2596 [ 2596 + 305 + 388 - 200 - 58 + (0) ] × (1.30) + 388 = 3940 + 388
3279 × 3.5 = 13,791 +388
====================================
Mirror Sword TST+9 Sauro II Elemental :20% vs Water ATK: 305 × 1.83 = 558 ATK+33% STR up by Lv = 19.4 (20) Melee up by Lv = 388 Enemy Lvl: 200 Enemy Def: 58 RNG: 0

The atk% from sauro ii itself is 15%. Compared to sturm its only 10%... If ther is xtal gives 15% melee to water and 5% pierce that xtal will beat sauro ii on water element target

Try adding Boo Up Iniliba, Monty Up Ideaus and Sbs 2x Ideaus Rain let's see the result with your method. I think the gap is even higher when you use Warcry 4. The assumed formula is: (Base atk)*(ATK%)*(Crit)*(Melee to Element%) The sets are: (1) Mirror Sword TST Sauro2 Boo Up Iniliba Monty Up Ideaus Sbs Ideaus Ideaus (2) Mirror Sword TST Sturm Boo Up Iniliba Monty Up Ideaus Sbs Ideaus Ideaus Since set (1) and (2) have exactly same base ATK and Crit dmg%, we can ignore it from calculation. Set 1 has: ATK%: 18+15+10+9+15+15+15=97 Elem%: 20 97*20=1940 Set 2 has: ATK%: 18+10+9+15+15+15=82 Elem%: 30 82*30=2460(win) Melee pierce effectiveness depends on each mobs I don't factor it into my calculation.

About how melee pierce works most ppl will think like this
Fixed variable- 1000 def, 5% melee pierce
1000 def /(1+(5% meleepierce)=952 def, 48 reduced def turn into additional raw atk
I found a source in ameblo thing and translate by google, this guy formula is like...
1000def /1.5= 666.6 <probably vit
The 1.5 thing is the multiplier for def on vit. Check at iruna wikidot it says 1 vit gives 1.5 def. Melee pierce reduce this 1.5 pointer. So new multiplier should be like this..
666.6 vit x (1.5-(5% melee pierce)) = 966 def, 34 reduced def turns into additional raw atk
