Hello guys,
First off im new to this forum and this game so nice to meet you and sorry for my bad english. ^^ My Ingame-Character is Ploppers and he is level 43 right now (not for long tho hehe) and i want to change to the samurai class once i am level 100. I have a few questions regarding the samurai and i hope you can answer them.
#Walloftextincoming...
I'm a warrior right now and want to change my jobclass to knight once i am level 50. At level 100 i can switch again to samurai. So my questions are: Do i get to keep my knight skills as samurai or do i lose them ? If i get to keep the skills from the second job, would it better to be a hunter who switches to the samurai class ? At the moment my stats are 33 Str 100 Agi and 6 Crit (didn't knew that samurai gets crit per level). I want to get some vit once my str is maxed. Do you think thats ok or did i fucked up ?
Thats all i have right now. I would appreciate if you could answer my questions.
Thanks in advance and see you ingame. *.*
Greetz, Ploppers

I'm not a samurai but I can answer one of your questions lol. ^^
From knight to samurai you will lose all knight skills and only gain samurai skills. No more double attack T^T

Nooo but i love double attack. Samu with double attack would have been so cool. Well that kinda answers my second question too. Thanks mate!

1) welcome to the forums 2) changing to special job is like resetting your class into a new one, so your knight/hunter skills are gone. 3) it's up to you on what job, both will be hell if you don't plan on using restat book to become STR samurai, or fairly easy if you go with the special sword (atk up by vit, this is another way to build samurai, also the optimal imo). if you go special sword just go knight and paladin from there. 4) your stats are sadly all jumbled up. 5) how you will level will mainly be using hard hit or party leveing, normal sword gains 3 atk per str poin, special sword gains 2 atk per vit. 6) another thing to note is samurai gets 1 atk per agi point.
builds for samurai are mainly
STR> AGI> DEX> CRT> VIT : this one starts off with barely no survival, does the highest damage early on, gets evasion
VIT> DEX> AGI> STR : this one starts with highest survival, "lowest" damage early on, gets to spam skills faster earlier, has highest damage output in the end. can use edel hood and such for mdef.
INT> DEX> AGI> CRT : this one uses magic sword, which is the most expensive/hardest to make. has the 2nd highest damage early on. has high mdef.

First off thanks for your post senpai. ^^ Well my plan was to max str now. Sorry that i forgot to mention it in my first post. I dont intend to go any further into crt. Your suggestion is str>agi etc. I have 100 agi and 33 str. Im level 43 now so i have 200 ish str at lvl 100. So i am kinda following your build. Can you please explain why my build is jumbled up ? Please notice me senpai !!!

hi and welcome to samurai class...feel free to browse the forum for other builds as well and pay attention to weapons used based on build because it will affect your damage output...aside from that have fun and strat making friends with clerics or bishops, they will be ur best friend through out ur play time

Please notice me senpai !!! most people like to go with things in a certain order for effectiveness issues. in this case, it's partly your damage, because you'll be relying on hard hit for damage, i assume you're using claws, because you'd have no damage otherwise. evasion won't help you much once you advance in the game unless you max it, samurai's are sword users. if you plan on using claws and autoattack you'll need crit, to increase damage and to increase crit rate (it's what makes you not miss). because later on the mobs are fairly hard to hit without abilities, unless you have high crt rate. it's a totally different experience when you maximize your efficiency early on, than if you do it in the "it will eventually work out" way. maxing str early on allows you to do more damage with your hard hits.100 eva won't really help you much unless you go claws, but then you'll need crit for damage/being able to hit. (notice my emphasis on using swords for damage, samurai is a sword user) atk up in normal swords by stats: str+3 dex+1 atk up in special swords by stats: vit+2 dex+1-5 +str+1 atk up in claws by stats: agi+2 str+2.

Oh i see. Well yes i am using sickle right now. But i want to switch to red tengu once i got enough money. Nevertheless i have the feeling that i wont get around getting a steflys later in the game. A question about the second build which has the highest dmg later in the game. How does it more dmg then the first build? Because it survives longer and in the end deals more dmg this way ?

Because it survives longer and in the end deals more dmg this way ? simple math using the info in my previous post. agi gives 1 atk per point to samurai. atk on special sword by stats =2+1.5+1+1=5.5 atk on normal sword by stats =3+1+1= 5

I suppose that build would be good for soloing too? Agi for evade and vit for double survivalbility in combination with edel hood. Do you have any tips on how i shall proceed now and when i should restat ?

Do you have any tips on how i shall proceed now and when i should restat ? i'd personally say it's a waste to use restat book, since you're under lvl 50. i'd recommend starting over from scratch, depositing all worthwhile items on your deposit, transfer money to an alt (of have someone of confidence to help you out with this), and start over. it should be easy. if you can afford katzbalger even more

if you do go with vit samurai consider these gear: edelhood to get magic defense and at same time it gives about 1k mp so no need to get int to get mp and for special equip, knight gauntlet because u get attack point based of vit with sword and extra attack(i think 30) plus 15% max hp... its good gear if ur planning to have vit in ur build

I just read in a other post that str agi and vit samurai can be good too if you get edelhood to compensate your lack of mres. I thought that this option is viable too? Or should i really start from the scratch? Anyway im really thankful that you hold it out so long with me. ^_^ Dayum yam's suggestion sounds rly good tho but i will most likely go vit when i maxed out str. Right now im having a blast with my char and how he levels with that agi and str skilling even if it wont last for long...
