Any volunteers to write a skill quest collumn, with what to collect for skill quests and where? You will be duely credited. Thanks in advance to the Bishop community. ^^
[LAST EDITED 19/6]
***Thanks so much for those who mailed, whispered and messaged me either in Iruna and here. Thanks for your support and feedback***
Greetings!
I am Godheal a level 230 bishop and i hope to share with you my build, and of course make it better(i've been experimenting and the build below has to be my favourite, or at least the way i like playing it.
**Note that there are other great bishop guides for players who have just started or are not as funded in Iruna. This is guide does not serve as one for those who are looking for a variety of gears for bishop. For links to other guides , i've posted links to very compreensive guides below as well. This build is for the more advance players in Iruna and maybe someting you can look forward and contribute to in future if you are a bishop who is just starting out. Do send me a PM if you need help, i'll try my very best to help answer questions i know.
***All facts are experimented by seasoned players. If you do see something which needs clarification or in which facts might be wrong, please do highlight them to me, and we'll see how we can improve upon it together
First Question:
Why Bishop? Is Bishop for me? (Read more)
I started by trying all characters (less samurai) and i honestly didn't know which character would suit my playing style the best. I was caught in the 140-160 zone in many characters.
I wanted something which could solo (level at least), neverending be wanted and useful in a party for farming bosses, and also be able to tank decently(maybe not all bosses). And trust me when i said i've tried lots of combinations of equipments and characters.
So i started experimenting, and i figured out that bishop is very viable in fulfilling my play style. Before you pick bishop, let me help you with some pros and cons.
PROs:
Able to Support any party - Every character in Iruna benefits from a Bishop in your party, at least some skills benefit all jobs.
Solo Levels well after 180 - With Nemesis skill
Able to tank - With proper setup, you can tank almost everything. Not as well as a paladin would, BUT i dare say we can tank well enough with good gear, you can survive without potions ($$$)
CONs:
Not the best damage dealer on bosses - Till future updates, we don't damage much on later bosses, making it hard for us to solo kill bosses.
Difficult to level until 180 - From 140-180 you pretty much have quite low damaging single mobbing attacks which don't damage alot. If you can train past this stage, you will reap what you sow (and i mean it, nemesis rocks)
Disclaimer
This is what works best for me. Feel free to experiment and if its the way you like to play , thats great. Feel free to share with me your builds and if i experiment and like it, i'll credit you in this guide and post it up.
I appreciate discussion, not rudeness, this is a game, chill a little ^^
OTHER HELPFUL BISHOP GUIDES:
For some other good Bishop guides for those slightly less funded or to know more on bishop gear may i recommend:

and

This build is meant for bishops who want good aoe damage, balanced with decent cast speed and a heal of about 10.8k. Oh and because of skills, bishops aren't meant to be attackers of bosses, but till future updates, we will
How my build works:
Alot of debate has been going on about Gerush. It has 20% matk on the weapon.. and yes a +1sec skill delay. For me its a 2second skill delay as i am using a 2slotted empress rod. So what i did was to ultilize as much neutralisers so i can cast fast and still have good heal( i do 10.7k heal) and decent damage (highest i seen was 40k on dark element, 34k on megaroche). This build has a mana pool of 12k. I party more often with hws for party levelling and even with other bishops, as i can tank pretty well and deal decent aoe damage. Bossings are usually with hws and paladins. I understand i can be a better healer with a 2slot bishop scepter, but i love to deal high aoe while still balancing rather good heal, minimizing switching of equipment between solo and bossing.
My Stat Distribution
Full Int, Full Dex, Rest Vit
256/256/188
My Stats:
Total HP: 18356 with own buffs
Total MP: 12507 with own buffs
Max Heal: 10859
Damage on Megaroche: 33k average, 34k max (Consistent, solo buff)
I understand i can get more damage with the use of resty rod and tanking, but i choose not to.
Why Gerust?
20% Matk is ALOT. Thus i feel that by maximize my damage along with lower skill cooldown gear, would let me enjoy the full effets of High Matk and decent speed. You may ask me why not Mix a Beelzetor with Gerust or 2 Beelzetors. The reason is simple. Beelzetor, yes might make my skill delay a tad bit faster (about 0.5 seconds) but it will also cost me alot more MP to use. Especially with my ISRU in armour and additional gear. Thus 2 gerust is key
WHY EMPRESS ROD?
The Rod i'm currently using. Research a little, its going to be the best rod after the next rod upgrade(i'm trying to be patient here while waiting). So i'll be having 20%matk, another +60-70 matk, light attribute-more damage from nemesis (from weapon), and since mine is 2 slotted, another 40% in Matk from Gerust.
So math, 20%+40%+ 60-70 MATK is just dope.
Why RESTY ROD?
Resty is good for Solo/Tanking, as it procs when you get hit- giving an additional 50% increase in Matk. The more monster in which hit you, the more chance of getting it proc'ed. 50% is huge, making this good for 1slotted solo users.
Why Liebe's Tail?
Look at the 12% heal and reduction in hate. Helps especially when you are using alot of MATK xtals. MATK xtals increase your heal as well. But with more heal % gear, the heal% gives more increase to your heal then matk% does to heal when you have lots of MATK. Thus the 12% heal is unrivaled when it comes to balancing this with quickcool ability as well as your isrugi xtal(or any matk increase xtal for that matter).
Party Play
Weapon- Empress rod (Gerust or Beelzetor mix, depending on how fast you need to cast) or Resty Rod(read above)
Armour- Exelis Up (Isrugi)
Add eq- A few choices here
Current favourite: Liebe Tail with Isrugi (12% heal and -30% hate, you got to love this)
Mecure with Isrugi (Fast cast for heal)
Sofy Glasses with isrugi(more heal)
Wolf ear up slot (isru) ... trust me when I say I experimented and i like this. My parties usually have a good pally so hate isnt a problem
Special - Ghost candle slot(mezza)
Note**: MP isn't too huge a problem now. We have a skill which reduces our MP cost significantly (lvl 200). Also, with lvl 220 skill, our my MP is at 12k, so i can solo and use isrugi for quite a long time before actually needing to recover mana. Yay to the new update!
Solo Play
Weapon- 2slotted empress rod (Double Gerush) (No change but might need to pot) OR Resty Rod Slot with Isrugi
Armour- Exe Up (Isru for more damage, but note it drains mp fast, might need to pot), Tunic Up (WarGvel)
Add eq- Liebe Tail/Mecure/Sofy Glasses/Wolf ear up slot (Isrugi, might need pots/Grail) Favourite being wolf ear up slot cause of reduction in damage % and 600 more heal to self with good reduction in skill cooldown
Special- Ghost candle slot (mezza)
Bishop Skills
Comments would be made in blue. Sorry I can't write in detail on where to get the skills and all, anyone can help me write a detailed section on this? I'll credit you
Level 200 and 220 skills are found at Port Spargas Pub.
Most used skills at level 230
Heal lvl 3 (MP 240)
Recovers the target's HP
Duh you have to use this. Bread and butter as a bishop yo.
Resurrection lvl 1 (MP 640)
Holy magic that resurrects you once for a limited time
Always cast this before bossing or fighting stuff you cannot handle. Cooldown is a tad long, but helps save the day if you know you have a chance of dying.
Divine Bless lvl 1 (MP 960)
Refills HP/MP and raises all stats for everyone in the party for a limited time
Raises your HP and MP, the recovery rate. Good skill to use on all classes, less ninja.
Priere lvl 3 (MP 512)
MATK & MaxMP increases by prayer. Has effect on PT members around you.
Boosts MATK and Max Mp. How nice for everyone. I have an additional 245 additional matk with this
Sanctuary lvl 1 (MP 200)
Reduce range and area attack damage taken. Has no effect if you are the direct target
Helps if you are the healer in the background. You don't wanna take damage or unessasary ailments.
Aegis lvl 3 (MP 512)
Reduces magic damage on the target
Helps mitigate alot of magic damage. Useful tanking magic bosses.
Nemesis lvl 1 (MP 240)
Great Magic of divine justice. Attack and put enemies on ailments. Lower success rate on bosses.
Main attack skill, need i say more? Hits 3 monsters max.
Revelation lvl1 (MP 2400) *available at lvl 220
A magic to arouse latent ability. Consume much HP using it on you. Double a target's job bonus.
Currently, i'm not sure exactly what bonuses it gives to other jobs. It halves your HP when using this skill on yourself, so use carefully when in battle, especially when you are tanking.
Someone can help me on calculations. This skill helps boost your job according to your stat points.
For boosting myself, i get a bonus(extra) of:
HP: 2579
MP: 3809
Matk: 156
Def: 21
Mdef: 22
Risparmio lvl 1 (MP 512) *available at lvl 200
A magic to manage tiredness. Reduce MP cost of PT members'. Auto recovery increases abit.
Now we are able to solo even more without high wizard's MP heal. I always cast this first before all the other skills. Self explainatory. And i can use isrugi xtals on my equips without any issue. For more information on this skill, click this link:
