I have been with this forum for a long time as a silent observer. I have only recently made an account because I have noticed it dying and I want to contribute.
Does anybody have any ideas about what we all can do to revive this forum? I do not want to see it die.

One idea is for this forum to be the single go-to place for information on new maps, equipment, and main quests as they are released.
If we had a section dedicated to continually updating sticky threads about new maps, equipment, and main quests, this would draw in the Google searchers.

We'd need people dedicated to compiling that information for each thread and section, and we'd need the (active) community at large to be on board with this so as to cut down on the repeat threads that already provide that information in spades. Overall though I do like your idea. It could bring in new blood, and help massively reduce forum clutter, similar to what Mary 's Guide to all Guides helped to do.

I look up new gear ALL THE TIME and get nothing. That is why I post threads. Most people skip on by this forum in search engines because they don't see the info they search for. The mods would either havevtp do it themselves or make a few more mods to help out. [I'm willing but I'm also new so I don't expect that:-)] I guess the full and special class sections should be the start. Update all of the build types. Much of the new gear has it's own builds now (like special bow ninja). The skills list, the equipment stats of gear commonly used by the class in question, and reposting of stickey threads entirely. Then, and only then, do we move on to a new guide about new main quests, gear, bosses, and drops. Imagine the activity we would get if we update this theoretical guide within a week of every update!

Its happening bud. The trouble is we have a lack of vetran players. Some have retired, others are still available to call on for the incite, but due to...circumstances, just not here. Those vetrans we do have are doing their best with the time they have, Yazmat keeping us updated on new events, MiLiGRiTo and mokie playing with the classes and skills to see how to use them most effectavly. And we have caporal compiling a number of guides already (which he has already done for his french buddies the good little frenchman he is...) amd lacs & Namitsuki with their expertise on everything food, pets and islands. What is really needed for this forum and what I have been trying to aim for is enough new blood to come in and build up exp to make these things also (yea yea theres a lot I could've done, but...*shrugs* I'm flaky.) We have some extremely good expertise for glads, enchies, paladins & of course ninjas. Bishops as well. It would be nice to see more of the other classes also such as monk, sniper and BK. Each week I am greatful to see some new faces come through, I think asteg deserves a good deal of credit tbh as his annoy ppl thread has given newer players somewhere to vent their frustrations & to gradually get to know other regular members of forum. Also Ryukengan giving us the chit-chat section again which I'm happy to see more ppl are starting to use. Maybe also if we did something for compititions again which Famine the good man he is has done a few times before. Maybe also lol some of us more...flaky members, could pull our fingers out and do up something benificial for new players (I needa immerse myself in the game outside of just prod before I can do anything, rl grind is a biatch tbh) On the up side tho, this forum is still way more active than...other places out there 0.0 About all I can say is just like quitted said and promote this chill place on fb and twitter, & whenever you find a new player in need of info be sure to send them here and tell them to make an acc.

Ideas to revive the forum.
1) answer the newbies question, don't ignore them. But Do not link them to a section of the forum (like monk section) as it is crowded with both useful and useless info. If you wanna link, link to a specific thread that contain the information they seek.
2) Yes it is tiring to see the same question being asked a dozen times and yes we have search function but not everyone realise that. Hell, it took me a year to noticed. Quote them and tell them to try the search function or google. Tell them to ask again if they still did not find it as sometimes it's hard to get what you want in the crowd of threads that come when you used search function.
When I first started out, this forum is not only active. Everyone was willing to help. Rarely will I see a question unanswered. Then someone posted about how peoples should use the search function, and suddenly everyone's answer to any newbie question is to bloody use the search function. That was pretty annoying actually.

From Google Analytics I can tell that the forum is anywhere but dead, it's growing nicely, just because you don't see as many new threads it doesn't mean that the forum is dying because people contribute to old topics or keep their threads updated. We are getting an increasing influx of new players and the page views are also increasing with every month. Also the topic has literally nothing to do with Iruna so I'll go ahead and move it to the chit-chat section. The problem is that most of the new members are merely lurking, not posting themselves to add to the information we have amassed and compiled over the years, that is the only problem I see right now but I cannot force them to share their knowledge or opinions with us, I can only try .

Well this is Only my opinion We have much player that have YouTube channel in this forum why not u ( player that have channel for iruna ) put this forum net address at ur description to promote this forum. For example : most of new player is getting interest when meet the player that make video on you tube. Like Eaysley say at that annoying thing people do ( iirc ). No offense or anything just share what i think. Sry for bad english

180+ out of 5k+ people online daily. Not bad. Growing well indeed. The problem why not new members are not likely to contribute because of this “ locking thread” “Bad comments” “Fights” etc as someone mention above, If there is thread that had already been made in past or needed to be locked then, admin should ps that member and provide appropriate reason for locking or deleting thread rather than replaying to the post " yo, this post already been made i am locking it up" (just an example) Some people take it personally and they don't talk at all. I think admin should make a separate board/sub-board for old/unnecessary thread (i.e where to get colon juice) and separate sub-board for locked threads. Just a suggestion Or I think people quite playing iruna how sad. This forum dommmed then. Lol. Over all I think forum is growing well as said above But there is less contribution. #management

I would agree with "bad comments" and "fights". I once asked a friend why he doesn't use forums, and he stated "Too many arguments". That was it. He was also a very good Samurai. Yes he can just ignore them, but seriously.. it's annoying for everyone else.
I would also just say for everyone not to take every comment as an attack. I don't post often, but when I do I have to re-read and/or edit often to make sure I don't offend anyone or their class. Remember that a friendly environment = friendly people = more people willing to join in on the fun and contribute.
That is all~

I think admin should make a separate board/sub-board for old/unnecessary thread (i.e where to get colon juice) and separate sub-board for locked threads. Now that this was mentioned, I do find it extremely odd that there isn't already an Archive sub-board in existence. It's just so commonplace on forums that I had just assumed there already was one and I just hadn't seen it lol. Want a way to make up to date information or still relevant information to be much more easily accessible? Clean up the clutter around it by putting it to Archive.

My thoughts here I think first we should discuss what really Revive The Forum means, as Ryukengan said, is not a matter of visitors, although that can be improved even more. We should always look behind and see how this is being evolving: - First forum, full of flame wars, no so much info to share but a lot of opinions and points of view. That ends in some knowledge players leaving or starting their own forum. - Then here, new forum rules were not of everyone taste, some player leave and make their own forum. Is in human nature to disagree, and is also healthy, so my opinion is that instead of try to invent the wheel again, let professionalize this so players know this is the place to gather information. How to do this, I think first to separate the actual info (skill description, fixed formulas, equipment info, etc.) from the one who is a forum member opinion or is argumentative. I agreed that there is info that is superseded by new one, but that is not necessary wrong info. One fresh idea, create a FAQ section, so question like "which is the best equipment for..." or "where to get ...." could be easily reached. Well, all discussion is valid, so throw your ideas and let see what happens. PSI: A couple of female forum members in bikini on the Forum home page will increase the ratings as well.
