So I had made a mage that couldn't use magic but instead used str for atk so when went to use knuckle skills the DMG was no better than a lvl 1 knuckle user. So I thought tht maybe wasn't based off atk(fully) but the actual stat. So I got to diff characters and one was full str while the other was full dex and I noticed that the full str would do more DMG with the skills. Later I tested it with an agi swordsman using knuclke skills and it did little dmg. So my final theory is that aside from knuckle skill(which might be special) skills are affected differently by different stats and not solely based on atk. This is the only way I can rationalize around why my mage had such high atk but so low skill DMG anyone else hav any other theory to explain this and some other ways to test it pls share thx

The damage gets lowered tremendously unless you are using Knuckles.

I think i should try it out again at a higher lvl with more stat points to work with

For 1-hand sword I highly recommend you mix str/Dex leaning more on the str side, going pure str cuts out your crit output and going pure dex leaves you weaker

Also they both give 2 ATK so you will end up with the same attack either way. I still recommend more STR though as it does give a tiny amount of ASPD and you have the option to AOE with a 2h weapon. Also you only need a certain amount of Hit anyways from DEX(unless its Gold Skeleton but even Archers miss that) and anything pass that isn't useful.
