Am I the only one that finds it unfair that all these people from non native english speaking countries are forced to speak english, for a game non the less?
However, maybe its a good thing it will build their english skills. Then again im assuming that most non native english speaking countries english class is required, so you have more background knowledge, compared to an American playing a fil game.
Idk as an native english speaker I feel a lil guilty...

If you know enough of the history of the English language, as well as understanding the different demographics through the Anglosphere, I think you will catch my drift.

in my personal opinion, i don't think non-native speakers are "forced" to use english in iruna because: 1. they chose to download the english version of iruna, although there are other available options such as japanese and chinese (taiwan version) 2. from what i have observed, non-native speakers tend to stick to other non-native speakers and use their native language and sometimes barely ever use/comprehend english. unless they need to buy/sell or such. even then, some of the items and equipment names in iruna aren't exactly english words.
moreover, english is one of the most common languages used around the world and in most asian countries (i assume you meant asian countries when you said non-native english speaking countries), english is used as a second language.
(๑•̀ㅂ•́)و
however, i am unsure if english is taught as a second language in most asian countries. i guess some of the non-native speakers just acquire english along the way, if there is no formal education. and like you said, iruna is a good chance for a lot of non-native speakers to improve their english skills since most iruna players would prefer to use english when communicating with someone they just met; however this may be false in the case that the other person does not understand english at all/has the assumption that the other person uses the same mother tongue and thus avoids using english when communicating. plus, international guilds in iruna would always have members that would only speak english in the guild chat and thus, many of the non-native speakers will get to acquire and learn.
my point is, iruna is a great place for the non-native speakers to learn/acquire and use english since there are plenty of iruna players that use english when communicating. and since it is only a game, there is no one to judge (unless you are an annoying grammar nazi) non-native speakers when they use english and thus this can encourage them to use english more often! ヾ(0∀0*★)゚*・.。

I think if u change language in ur phone it auto translate don't worry after couple centuries chinese will knock down english , thats even worse than english. dont u agree?

i guess i somewhat agree with you. (*「・ω・)ン
the other sub-boards we have are no longer as active as it used to be because we no longer have moderators that are ranked based on the country they are in. that means, no one posts or checks those boards on a regular basis anymore. plus, from the lack of posts in other languages, it might be a little frightening for non-native speakers to post and seek help here on the forum, thus it's why i can always see "sorry for my bad english" at the start/end of quite a number of posts here.
additionally, this is not the only forum/place for non-native speakers to seek help. there are a variety of facebook groups as well as other forums that gather non-native speakers together; in which they can then voice out their questions in their native language.
p/s: i am also spewing nonsense i actually don't know what i'm typing (V◕ฺω◕ฺV) yada yada yada...

No one is forced to speak english in-game. You can pretty much use whatever language you wanna use. The thing is not everyone will understand you so either you can stay forever in your own Tower o Babel or use english. It's english version of the game after all and this is the first time I'm hearing of it being unfair.
Why the guilt? Nothing is unfair. One should be guilty though when they come from english speaking country and yet they're more gibberish than the ones who aren't.

To be honest, people active in here does not even reflect 10% of iruna population hence the inactivity.
