So it's been awhile since my last update. I've been going through the Anniversary event and sunk and a few mil into attempting to get the Failnaught II. Since I have another chance due to the extension of the event, I want to know something. Is the Failnaught II worth getting? It looks rediculius but i'm not sure what the Melee up by level effect does. Is it like the Variants effect? Also, what bows are or will be comparable to it, or does it just blow most current bows out of the water. (Speaking pre-240) The Failnaught II does have a very high base ATK. Speaking from the 240+ point of view the -1 second delay would allow more flexibility in choices of Armor and Additional. To be honest I was a bit disappointed by this bow as I've yet to find a setup that would make it out damage my usual set which uses elemental bows...I'm still trying just a bit tight on spina these days. Yes the melee added is just like that on Variant. Pre-240 snipers should focus on skill delay reduction and Atk, and although failnaught does have both, I highly recommend Moonlight. It has - 1 second skill delay, ATK & Accuracy +5% and Mp cost -25% which is going to make grinding so much easier once you're lvl 70+ and begin using Arrow Rain. It can make as big of a difference as say normally you use 4 stacks of remagic to level up, Moonlight would reduce that to 2 stacks used per level.

Thanks Crystal, i'll start saving for a Moonlight bow then. No more RNG to look after other than upgrades. You've got no idea how much happier I am to see a better choice.
On a side note, what is the Failnaught particularly useful for then? It sounds like a good Auto Attack weapon but i'd imagine there are better choices as well.

I could see an auto attack build using Failnaught. It would probably be most useful against a boss with shelling (a purple aura is the trademark of this) the melee bonus from Failnaught would add a fixed amount of damage, based on Lv as stated in its description, ignoring the high DEF of the "shell" which makes most normal attacks do 1 damage.
