This is a build I've been experimenting on recently. Honestly I don't know whether it'll fail or succeed and I want to log my progress for anyone else crazy enough to use this build.
Goal: To create a paladin build that does MGC DMG rather than just melee DMG while maintaining Tank capabilities.
March 19, 2021.
Iruna academy event was active so I farmed two ideaus xtals. Then I decided to use one in my accord sword. For this experiment I used
Accord sword (Ideaus)
Struggler (Gewalt)
Scarlet ribbon (Gewalt)
Booster/Hero sword sheath (Gewalt)
My ideal set is
Accord sword (Sauro II)
Struggler (Gewalt)
Spy mask (Gewalt)
Booster (Mezzaluna)
As you can see this set is missing a lot of what I need. I also think I'll modify it a lot and try multiple different equips to see what's ideal.
I'm using the accord sword not only for the light magic autoskill but also STR up by INT and the light magic boost it gives for paladins.
The struggler for MATK up by VIT, spell burst and MGC res.
The scarlet ribbon for aspd.
Booster for lower intervals
No apostilia that aids autoskill, MATK or spell burst. All the colors are full blue.
I had 264 INT, 403 DEX, 406VIT
Experiment Results:
A. 13k DMG right off the bat. It had the equivalent DMG of my enchanter when it was lvl200 only thing my enchanter had slightly lower INT and drastically lower DEX. Or so it was when I tested it on Luna. It had 6.5k DPS.
B. I completely forgot I had beserk so the scarlet ribbon was completely unnecessary
C. Spell boost triggered occasionally which REALLY surprised me. I thought spell boost only applied when its a passive ability or you use the spell boost crysta.
D. The effect grand crusade has on MATK was to lower magic damage by about 10%-15%.
E. Surprisingly, the autoskill triggered more often than I thought. At times it triggered after each slash. Sometimes none at all for like 3-7 hits. At other times it triggered 3 at once.
Conclusion: This build may have good potential for the goal mentioned before.
For the next experiment I'm planning on changing apostilia color to all purple for the autoskill boost. Later I'm planning on adding light MGC relics. Gonna farm for a spy mask to do further testing later.
Lvl Impossible Set:
Accord Sword (Sauro II/Flash of day)
Struggler (Gewalt/Flash of day)
Spy Mask/Light bulb II (Gewalt/Flash of day)
Booster (Gewalt/Flash of day)
As you can imagine, that's a lot of Light MGC.
