This post is long so here's a TLDR note:
This skill at lv 3, by chance, reduces physical dmg received by 50% when using swords, while only 30% with other weapon types.
...I understand that this isn't very much useful now cause it got nerfed, but whatever lol
How did I come up with this stuff?
(A lil backstory)
I wanted to see for myself Guard Lv2's (30%) Melee R+ bonus for another test but I got side tracked when my first test—without any resistance—didn't quite match the dmg from what I had in mind.*
*3i's Shellbreak Attack
3i's shellbreak deals a solid 60% of your MaxHP (the HP you see on the stat page) without resistances.
(!) 3i is a somewhat good place to test because their shellbreak dmg has no additional RNG. For easier calculations.
MaxHP: 94,588
~it is the same all throughout the tests.
56,752 HP dmg from 3i, no resistances.
= 56,752 HP dmg / 94,588 MaxHP.
= 0.6 or 60%.
= 0.6 or 60%.
Dmg reduction when using other weapon types:
Now,with that first test I did, my set was composed of:
Royal Nectar (Canes)(Empty Slot)ATK: 267
INT+12 MATK+7% MaxHP+15% Item delay -1sec, Ailment R +20% Melee+10% to Boss
Tentacion◇Metalbrow
DEF: 6
ATK&MATK-6%, Absolute evasion +10% Magic R +12%, Skill delay -2sec
◇Metalbrow (Crystas)
Skill delay -0.6sec, ATK-10% MATK-10%
Santa Hat (Additional)
DEF: 5
MaxMP+10% CRT+1 EXP gain x1.2 during Xmas.
No spec
Apos page 2 is empty
No relic etc.
But, the first test showed this amount of dmg instead:
39.727 HP dmg received after the parry log.
Calculating,
39,727 HP dmg / 94,588 Max HP
= 0.42000042 or just 42% of the MaxHP.
Third eye deals 60% base HP dmg right?
So, what part of 60% is 42% ?
= (42/100) / (60/100)
= 42/60
= 0.7 or.... 42% is 70% of the default HP% dmg (60%).
/We received 70% of the default damage.
Which means the dmg was reduced by 30%.
= 0.42000042 or just 42% of the MaxHP.

Keep in mind that I used Royal nectar when I did this, which is a rod. So with that, we now know that Parry reduces 30% when equipped with other weapon types.
Bonus btw, this is Guard Lv2, also reducing 30% of the dmg:
Parry was consumed with the 1800 dmg after it, so guard only affected the reduction
Dmg reduction when using Swords:
Thankfully again, Private Sword and Royal Nectar had the same HP% bonus and no % resists. So I was able to swap to Private Sword.
Royal Nectar [Canes]

28,376 HP dmg while using a sword.
• 28,376 is 30% of our Max HP: 94,588.
= 28,376 / 94,588
= 0.2999957
• 30% is half of 60% (default HP% dmg).
Since there were no other resists present, we can say that:
The damage gets reduced by half when using swords.
= 28,376 / 94,588
