The market then pins their buying price as current price..if someone offer lower, seller can easily refuse and wait for the rich to buy again. Luckily for them, there are always rich people willing to buy. Always. And the cycle continues.
Also, some people like to sell their stuff higher than current price, hoping that when dumb buyer offer lower, it won't be too far from the actual price. Again, there are always people willing to buy or maybe they are in a rush.
This 'seller' often connects to other group of seller, it's easy for them to pin the price.
The market maker wants it to be high and people around them believe it's alright to be high. People will sell op to buy op items they need since it's hard to bid low.
