I heard few Gladiators claiming that using max hp set helps their Solid Skin to be "thicker" so I am wondering if any pro Gladiators can confirm this.

A comment posted by a random Gladiator in that link also seems to claim that Enchanter's max hp set helps Gladiator's Solid Skin too.

I've just tested it against Veleno.
First time I used Solid Skin i had 18k ho, Veleno needed 20 hits to cancel my Solid Skin.
Second time I used my Solid Skin i had around 130k hp then I switched back to the previous set, Veleno needed 20 hits to cancel my Solid Skin.
I checked Veleno's dmg without Solid Skin, the average was around 460. 460x20=9200 (damage x number of hits)
My Str is 458, 458x20=9160 (Str x 20)
So yeah, Solid Skin is not affected by max hp and it's Str x 20
