Hello, the recent skills update gave us Hidden Arrow, whose damage rises whenever we get a double attack.
Now we want that double attack as often as possible.
But the wiki says that double attack plateaus at 40% with 256 CRT.
There's also some info saying it goes to 65% at 400 CRT, and rumors about autoskill, etc.
Searching online led me to dead-ends or sometimes, machine translated pages that just stumped me.
I did not know what to believe anymore so I resorted to manual labor to get some hard data,
since finding about it first hand is better than just reading about it.
What I wanted to test:
1. 256 CRT, 40% activation?
2. 400 CRT, 65% activation?
3. Autoskill?
What I have:
1. 439 AGI 438 DEX 439 CRT, spec bow user
2. Place for testing
Area: Dragon Trial Site
Mobs: Goblin, Flare Horse, Star Spirit
3. Test Set1
Weap: Malicia Bow ◇Kagan ☆QuickCool2
Arm: Ultimi ◇Iniliba ☆Quick Use
Add: Monty beret up ◇Raton ☆Quick Use
Acc: ☆MagDef5
Spec: Thimble ◇Mr.Oritius ☆Quick Use
Apos: MaltiG, VulschemG, LeviamG, VatendethG, IraiG. 8G lines
Relic: Uradoom, Oswald, Warrior's Jewelry, Memory Fragment, str+1, melee+100, 2 x atk+1
Note: Equips were selected just because they have no autoskill bonus
4. Test Set2
Weap: Mirror Bow SAG ◇SauroII ☆MeleePierce4
Arm: Ossi Model (no xtal) ☆RangeCut5
Add: Daiginjo Holiday up clean
Acc: ☆AutoSkill3
Spec: Thimble ◇Mr.Oritius ☆Quick Use (same as Set1)
Apos: TeoR, ShelkG, SauroIIG, VatendethG, GKG. 3Y5G lines
Relic: Uradoom, Oswald, Warrior's Jewelry, Memory Fragment, str+1, melee+100, 2 x atk+1 (same as Set1)
Note: Weap/Arm/Add/Acc/Apos has (5+8+12+3+2)% autoskill, or 30% more autoskill than Set1
The Experiment:
Ten rounds, 100 kills each at the Dragon Trial Site for both Test sets, totaling 2000 kills.
I used Overclock, Fairy Wind and Hidden arrow. It was 1 attack per kill.
I tested for the number of double attack procs over total number of attacks.
Round Set1 Set2
1 37 / 100 75 / 100
2 48 / 100 78 / 100
3 43 / 100 85 / 100
4 49 / 100 76 / 100
5 49 / 100 75 / 100
6 45 / 100 75 / 100
7 40 / 100 77 / 100
8 50 / 100 82 / 100
9 38 / 100 76 / 100
10 48 / 100 67 / 100
Results:
Test Set1
- Total 447 double attack procs / 1000 attacks
- Single attack damage between 33.5K to 33.7K vs Flare Horse
- Double attack damage between 51.9K to 52.1K vs Flare Horse
- Hidden Arrow damages are about 2.6 times of the above damages
Test Set2
- Total 766 double attack procs / 1000 attacks
- Single attack damage between 30.5K to 31K vs Flare Horse
- Double attack damage between 47.5K to 47.9K vs Flare Horse
- Hidden Arrow damages are about 2.6 times of the above damages
What can be concluded:
1. Rounded down, Test Set1 gives 4 double attack procs out of 10 attacks.
Since I had 439 CRT, the hard data above disproves the 65% activation @400 CRT.
However, this agrees with the wiki info about 40% activation @256 CRT,
so it is safe to say with that CRT, we get 40% DA chance by default.
However for Set 2, rounded down results give 7 double attack procs out of 10 attacks.
Set2 had +30% autoskill more than Set1. Coincidence? Needs further testing.
2. Hidden arrow is about 2.6 times the damage it follows, whether single or double attack.
Given the activation results, Set 2 will out-damage Set1 in 10 attacks, even if Set1 seemingly gives higher damage.
We get the damage by [DA Damage + DA H.Arrow damage] + [no DA Damage + no DA H.Arrow damage]
Set 1 damage in 10 attacks, 40% DA activation, 4 DA's and 6 no-DA's
[(52.1 x 4) + (52.1 x 2.6 x 4)] + [(33.7 x 6) + (33.7 x 2.6 x 6)] = 1,478.16k or 1,478,160
Set 2 damage in 10 attacks, 70% DA activation, 7 DA's and 3 no-DA's
[(47.9 x 7) + (47.9 x 2.6 x 7)] + [(31 x 3) + (31 x 2.6 x 3)] = 1,541.88k or 1,541,880
The higher damage values were used here.
This shows that if the DA activation rate is high, even a set lacking xtals can beat a set with complete xtals.
Post Notes:
1. Need more test rounds(?) I chose Dragon trial site because the mobs there can withstand single and double attacks, but will die with HA. Also, they have fragments.
2. For this info to be of use in actual battle, need to find a set that is both good in base damage and can proc more double attacks.
3. Autoskill again? I cannot conclude about Autoskill yet. This needs more testing... Need to conduct further test with an Enchanter, to give autoskill boost. If ever it turns out that Autoskill can(?) add to the 40% proc rate, then it'd be a good idea to party with them to maximize HA damage.

2018/12/08 Update:
Double Attack Experiment Part 2 - Auto Skill
What I wanted to test:
1. From the previous experiment, DA rate actually went up... was it the Autoskill?
What I have:
From the previous experiment I initially wanted to test Set2 again with Enchanter's Draw buff.
But things didn't go well so the next best thing was to try and lower the Autoskill% given in Set2 and see if the amounts agree with the result.
I got the same setup as before but now I made 2 new Test Sets.
The new sets are just a mix of the equips from the first two test sets.
Comparing the new sets to Set1, one has 10% more autoskill, while the other has 20% more.
Test Set3
Weap: Mirror Bow SAG ◇SauroII ☆MeleePierce4
Arm: Ultimi ◇Iniliba ☆Quick Use
Add: Monty beret up ◇Raton ☆Quick Use

Relic: Uradoom, Oswald, Warrior's Jewelry, Memory Fragment, str+1, melee+100, 2 x atk+1
Note: Weap/Acc/Apos has (5+3+2)% autoskill, or 10% more autoskill than Set1
Test Set4
Weap: Mirror Bow SAG ◇SauroII ☆MeleePierce4
Arm: Ultimi ◇Iniliba ☆Quick Use
Add: Daiginjo Holiday up clean
Acc: ☆AutoSkill3
Spec: Thimble ◇Mr.Oritius ☆Quick Use
Apos: MaltiG, VulschemG, LeviamG, VatendethG, IraiG. 8G lines
Relic: Uradoom, Oswald, Warrior's Jewelry, Memory Fragment, str+1, melee+100, 2 x atk+1
Note: Weap/Add/Acc has (5+12+3)% autoskill, or 20% more autoskill than Set1
The Experiment:
Ten rounds again, 100 kills each at the Dragon Trial Site for the new Test sets, totaling 2000 kills.
I used Overclock, Fairy Wind and Hidden arrow. It was 1 attack per kill.
I tested for the number of double attack procs over total number of attacks.
The columns are arranged according to added Autoskill%.
I also added results from the previous experiment:
Round Set1 (40%)* Set3 (40%+10) Set4 (40%+20) Set2 (40%+30)
1 37 / 100 63 / 100 54 / 100 75 / 100
2 48 / 100 57 / 100 51 / 100 78 / 100
3 43 / 100 53 / 100 63 / 100 85 / 100
4 49 / 100 61 / 100 69 / 100 76 / 100
5 49 / 100 57 / 100 70 / 100 75 / 100
6 45 / 100 53 / 100 71 / 100 75 / 100
7 40 / 100 58 / 100 71 / 100 77 / 100
8 50 / 100 55 / 100 66 / 100 82 / 100
9 38 / 100 54 / 100 71 / 100 76 / 100
10 48 / 100 54 / 100 67 / 100 67 / 100
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total : 447 / 1000 565 / 1000 653 / 1000 766 / 1000
* - as per the wiki, 40% is the DA rate @ 256 CRT.
Set 1 showed 40% DA rate during the previous experiment.
The other column names display exactly how much Autoskill% was added.
Results:
Test Set1
- (From previous) Total 447 double attack procs / 1000 attacks (about 4 procs in 10 attacks)
Test Set3
- Total 565 double attack procs / 1000 attacks (about 5 procs in 10 attacks)
- Single attack damage between 45.3K to 45.5K vs Flare Horse
- Double attack damage between 70.5K to 70.9K vs Flare Horse
Test Set4
- Total 653 double attack procs / 1000 attacks (about 6 procs in 10 attacks)
- Single attack damage between 37.1K to 37.3K vs Flare Horse
- Double attack damage between 57.4K to 57.7K vs Flare Horse
Test Set2
- (From previous) Total 766 double attack procs / 1000 attacks (about 7 procs in 10 attacks)
What can be concluded:
1. Values spiked up and down but in the end the totals agreed to the amount of Autoskill% added.
After two additional sets, 4000 kills, and a visible pattern, it makes it hard now to think of all this as coincidence.
So we can say that the DA rate determined by CRT (40% @256crt) can be further boosted by the Autoskill% from equips.
Post Notes:
The next question would be... how much more Autoskill% can be added to that 40%?
What is the limit? (40+50)? (40+60)? Lol perfect DA rate? Idk.
For that it would need things like Draw buff from an enchanter, maybe new apostolia set, ☆Auto5, 2-slots,...
Would love to test but unable atm since I don't have those.
Hope you find the data useful.
You will need to find your right gears so that this info is useful in actual battle.
If you have related tests, it'd be great to hear from you. Cheers!
