Before getting into this, Quick Use benefits mostly for resistance builds and solo. As for Glass Cannons, I'm not entirely sure since they focus on Matk based abis and equip. I am also well known for creating weird builds for High Wizards and sharing them here. But, now getting to the point.
There comes a time when you're facing a boss, whether in solo or party, that your MP gets taken down to 1. You're influenced to take MP items like the salt condiment. However, what happens when you're on fire, or you're poisoned? (And of course other curable ailments.) Sometimes there's bosses that will deal huge amount of damage with poison or burn, that when you're healing or curing yourself with an item, the delay is so long. The ailment will kill you before you can even use another item like antidote. This comes from personal experience, and even drain is not enough to fight against the ailment damage.
That being said, and I know it must be crazy to even mention this, but ever looked into Quick Use? I mentioned this ability to other High Wizards, or classes in general. They give me this confused look or question, "You're a hw, why do you need qu?" Actually, Quick Use certainly does benefit High Wizards, especially for resistance builds. Resistance builds can tank almost anything. (I said almost.) And switch between zero ray builds, as I've seen from High Wizards on youtube. But even with resistance build, and high vit, you're still going to get damage from ailments, or slowed down like paralysis. And Quick Use allows you to quickly cure yourself before it's too late, while tanking. Here is my current resistance equip:
Universe II+9 Iniliba qu
Bellow of Order+9 Iniliba qu
Sieger Plate+9 iniliba qu
Accessory qu
Caterina Talisman Iniliba qu
...and resistance apostolia
(And yes I do have a zero ray build that hits around 500-600k. That's enough for me, but that isn't the point of this thread in case you're wondering. As the rules say, stay on topic.)
Now this is just an idea, as I've tested this and has shown interesting results. Any item I use spams, and I can use another quickly. Which allows me to cure the curable ailments instantly and continue fighting without issues. And of course, this isn't a mandatory or recommend ability, nor equip status. Every High Wizard has unique builds aside from the common builds. High Wizard is a very flexible class after all. Opinions are welcome on this thread, and as always if the thread isn't necessary feel free to lock it.
