ok i decided to make a new char and eventually make him monk. but i read that shell break is crt based, so why on my other chars ninja and samurai, who are agi crt str and str agi dex respectively, why do i only see shell break process which i think is the game saying melee pierce , when i use red candy and yellow candies?. Will monk be better at processing it more often, if i go agi crt int or agi crt str maybe some vit , if i use chakra as a claw monk?

I do believe it's activation rate does increase with crt, however it's not the equivalent of melee pierce since shell break increases the damage of the attack depending on how much defense an enemy has, more defense equals more damage for the attack when it procs this is incredibly noticable when a boss throws up a barrier where your attacks are reduced to almost nothing shell break will deal an incredible amount of damage also enemies like yarde that have a decent amount of defense give a noticeable damage increase, however if enemy has little too no defense like nommars having none then little too no damage increase. As for the candy bags yellow gives a chance of activating shell break which should add into a monks natural shell break rate so it will activate more but I'm not sure on the activation rate of the break from YCB so it will activate a lot less on other classes that don't have the natural activation rate a monk has, RCB I think mainly adds atk and melee pierce which doesn't increase activation rate. As for builds both will activate shell break the same amount since both will have crt as one stat being maxed but as of right now agi crt str is the highest damage build since you'll have more atk outside of buffs but after rebalance hits chakra will give more atk with I believe the highest level of chakra adding 2 atk per int vs the 1.4 of right now so in the future int builds will be equal too or better than str since they will be able to reach the same amount of atk as long as they have chakra active and no debuff from boss also you'll be able to take more advantage of self buffs as well as those from other classes like enchanters and servants. Sorry for the wall of text but hopefully I answered some questions you had without confusing and complicating things further.

Any other class can't trigger that normally, which is why it's only possible with yellow candy bags and a few other equipment (such as murasamemaru and pierrot hat). While shell break does let you pierce the enemy's def, it works differently from melee pierce. For example, you could do double damage to high def enemies such as yarde with shell break, but with melee pierce, the highest you'll ever do to a yarde is your normal crt damage vs 0 def enemies such as nommars (cmiiw). Also, sb isn't 100% guaranteed to trigger at every normal attack/melee skill (unless you have 100% sb rate), while melee pierce is always active. I'm not sure whether sb is crt based, but as a monk, autoskill+% increases its activation rate (+3% autoskill = +1% sb I think).
