This is not MY guide, this is an HW all in one guide that I created, completed and updated
First of all, let me introduce myself : My IGN is caporal and i'm a lvl 386 High Wizard and I lovethis class.
I started playing in 2013, then made a pause for 3-5 years I don't remember exactly, and now (Half august 2022) I'm slowly coming back.
I noticed that there isn't a real complete all in one guide for high wizard so I decided to create one. Most of the informations come from others great players but I helped a lot. I am online everyday on this forums so i can keep it up to date so feel free to share your tips
English isn't my main language, and I'm asking you to not judge this guide on this or criticize it if you find grammar mistakes, but you can help me with them in private. I'll do my best, thanks for reading.
High Wizard (HW) is a popular class. They use powerful elemental magic skills to kill their ennemies. This job is based on the strategy "kill before get killed" . In adition to their magic strenght, they also have a huge magic defense and a lot of AoE attacks , making them a good class in pt and solo. However their main role isn't to tank and they are weak against phyisical attack that why they often need a tank like Paladin or BK. Like Enchanters, they can heal MP, and finding a party for farming isn't hard. They only have 1 buff that can be shared, so it's definitely not a buff class.
Profits :

✦ Can heal HP (around 500 - 900) and MP (MaxHP based)
✦ Have a lot of AoE skills
✦ Huge MDEF
✦ Good for solo / party
✦ Very good MP pool
Cons :
✧ Hate bar grow very fast in boss farming
✧ Weak against physical ennemies
✧ Very expensive equipments and xtals
✧ Long skill delay and cast time
✧ Low HP
✧ Low DPS against neutral / light / Dark ennemies (until level 240)

Finally and since we can all reach level 300+ extremely easily: there is only one main build for High Wizard.
However, some brave and rich players can afford an alternative build.
That main build is
INT > DEX > VIT > CRT +BL / GL
From lvl 1 to 180 :
Focus on INT and DEX. I recommand adding 50 VIT for some small tanking.
CRT is useless until you get Spell burst skill at level 180.
From lvl 180 to 220
At this point you should have 540 points to spare. So 256 INT (maxed) 234 DEX and 50 VIT
Focus on maxing DEX and adding some VIT and CRT until you unlock Apostolia
Once you unlocked Apostolia
Focus on overcapping INT and DEX.
Don't be scared to add points in BL and GL special stats. It only takes 66 normal levels to cap them.
Add VIT points until you are satisfied. But remember, High Wizard is only a DPS Magic class and can't be good at everything, so I recommend you to focus on your power rather than your survival
Concerning the points in CRT, remember it's only for Spell burst skill. At level 300 you'll get Spell burst lv4 which gives you a base of 40% spell burst rate. Then you get 1% spell burst rate every 10 CRT points. I recommand adding at least 100 points of CRT, this way you'll get 50% spell burst rate, which isone chance out of two to do a critical hit. You'll also get more spell burst rate from many equipments, crystals and ability.
A critical hit = 150% damage
The Alternative build is
INT > AGI > DEX > VIT > CRT +BL / GL
I really don't recommand this build unless you have a really big experience on the game, you got tons of spina (tens of billions of spina at least) and a Stefly book in storage.
Why ? Because this build is based on a few equipments and outperforms the classic build only if you have all of them with 2 slots. Those equipements give MATK based on your AGI.
High Wizards were never made to be AGI based, we have no skill based on AGI (passive or active).
Who know how long those AGI based equipements will stay in META ?
That main build is

Stock up on magic power, up to 3 times. The higher the Magic Stock value, the more damage dealt by a magic attack. Can pierce boss shields. Work only with Blizzard / Thor Hammer / Meteor Storm / Earthquake
✫ Grigori
Chance to afflict the enemy with a status abnormality. Probability of status abnormality increases with STR.
✫ Force Boost
Strengthens fire, water, wind, and earth magic. Draw out rod's power and strengthen elemental power.
✫ Multi Cast
Multiply spells of large magic. Enable you to cast multiple large magics.
✫ Mana Scatter
Active skills
✫ Head Crash (useless)
Physical attack that ignores the enemy's defense. ATK increases with rod
✫ Drain
Dark element magic attack. Absorb HP from the enemy
✫ Thunderbolt
Wind attribute magic attack. May paralyze the enemy. Better damage against water element ennemies.
✫ Earth pike
Earth element magic attack. Probability to stun enemy reliant on STR. Better damages against wind element ennemies.
✫ Meteor Storm (AOE)
Fire element range attack. Chance to burn enemy. Better damage against earth ennemies.
✫ Earthquake (AOE)
Earth element range attack. Chance to paralyze or stun enemy. Better damage againts wind ennemies. Little recoil.
✫ Thor's Hammer
Wind-element magic attack that can blind the enemy. Better damages against water ennemies.
✫ Blizzard (PT AOE)
An ice-element PT range attack. Hits up to 6 enemies (TBC), with a probability of freezing them
Hit 1~6 times, accuracy up by DEX. Better damages against fire element ennemies.
✫ Imperial Ray (PT AOE)
Generate a high-damage magic attack based on the skill last used. Applies to certain skills only. High Damage triggers only if this is the ennemy opposite element. DEF up for 30 sec after cast.

Attack with the frumious arm. You will teleport at random.
Gives assault buff and regens 20% max mp if successfully triggered
✫ Zero Ray
A neutral magic attack skill which can deal huge damage under certain conditions. Cost 40% of your MP

Leveling nowadays is really different than a a few years ago. So this part may looks a bit outdated, but if you like to play the game the hard way, it's still relevant !
Level 160-200

Earthquake to amass three targets. Use blizzard because they are fire elementals and it will make them slow down. Also use drain from time to time. These mobs drop Dirty Gear which you can either sell for 400k/stack or use in a quest that becomes available when you are lvl 240 and is located in Pilaneza. The quest demands 10 Dirty Gear and for every time you complete the quest you get 760k experience. If you saved the Dirty Gear from lvl 200 to 240, this quest will give you around 5-10 level bonus without any effort.

They are water element, so for best damage, use thor hammer and imperial thunder

Baum Warriors (commonly called "BW") (PT recommanded)
Parties want lvl 240+ HW's because of a skill called Imperial Fire (200-300k damage) available at lvl 240. However, if there is already a strong high level HW in a party you can still be of good use and amass three targets with a little help of earthquake.
Good party set up : 1 bishop 1 minstrel 1 Hw 140+ 1 Hw 240+
