Greetings, assassin community! Have you ever wondered if there is some other gear you haven't gotten, or what combination is truly the best? I am going to compile a list of the gears I like most, and the reasons why they better to similar gears. I may not include every gear that everyone uses, and you should build your sin your way.
The gears include the elemental set as well as critical/attack items. This list is continuously updated, but does not include exp/drop rate focused items.
Warning: Not inclusive of "budget" or stepping stone sets. Please look up the specific gears' acquisition materials and locations. Info here is for explanation of the gear. Most additional information is available on iruna-online.info.

Coming soon: Star Ability Recommendations
Weapons
Higiri: ATK: 267-271 ATK +10%, A. evasion +10%, Fire element, Adds Melee pierce +10%, Magic pierce +10%, If DEX > 299, Magic attack chance
- Fire element. [EP 5 BOSS DROP] Higiri is hard to obtain, so Dragon Roar III makes a good replacement, for now. Adler III may be released, but it has -HP%.
Freesia Caim II: ATK: 295-296 ATK +9% MATK +9% ASPD -30% Magic Evasion +7% Melee to Fire +22% Melee to Water -22%, Magic Counter Chance
-Water element. [XMAS EVENT] While Jagged Shuriken has an 8% critical damage, the ATK, magic evasion, and chance of magic counter on F.Caim II add up to be more beneficial.
Whirlwind: ATK: 245-260 Wind element, AGI +10 ATK +6%, Twice attack chance, Critical damage up by INT
-Wind element. [CHASING PRODUCTION LV 147] Whirlwind has a higher critical damage increase, and more damage in melee. Air Slicer III has a bit higher atk, and some -SD, but its critical damage only slightly is up by AGI. However, it does have melee +300, and Air Slicer IV may be released, with the possibility of being better.
Mio Filio II: ATK: 291 Earth element ATK +8% Melee through +8% Critical Damage +8% MaxMP increase in Lv
-Earth element, [EP 4 BOSS DROP, 1 UPGRADE] The only good farmable earth element throw. Every single stat on this weapon works in an assassin's favor. Although it is hard to obtain a slotted version of this throw, it's quite necessary for a fully elemental throwing set without no earth element missing.
Prescience III: ATK: 294-303 Magic evasion +12%, Melee up by Lv. Melee through +5%, ATK +12%, Thrice attack chance, Dark element
-Dark element, [EP 3 BOSS DROP, 2 UPGRADES] Better than Artemis IV. Decently priced, great for yarde grind.
Fallen God Throw: ATK: 315 Dark element. Max HP and MP - 5%. ATK and MATK +8%. Critical Damage +10%. When equipped with Fallen God Armor, Max HP and Max MP +10%, ATK and MATK +4%, Critical Damage +8%, Light Magic -90%, Melee to dark -90%.
- Dark element. [EP 5 FINAL BOSS CHEST LOTTERY] Beats prescience in dmg, but you can only get this through the chests that are crafted with 10 Dark Mana Piece, 10 Dark Mind Piece, 10 Dark Chi Piece, and 10 Fallen God Empty Vessel (available at the boss dungeon at the end of EP 5). You'll also need the armor for it to be truly strong.
Stavros: ATK: 288-292 INT +8, MaxMP +10%, Skill delay -1.2 sec, -50% damage to Light, Melee +25% to Dark. Evasion rate up chance
- Light element. [CRAFTED AT BLACKSMITH] Has great -SD, Int and MP increase, evasion increase, and 25% melee boost to dark. Helps to do damage to dark element, which we are weak against. Other light throws simply do not have attack or melee up by % dmg that can rival that of Stavros.
Eventail III: ATK: 297-312 Melee +30%, Casting Time -50%, Small counter chance up by AGI, Magic evasion +5%, Twice attack chance
- Neutral element. [EP 2 MOB DROP, 2 UPGRADES] Good neutral element melee increase, your cheapest throw.
Wicktrace III: ATK: 275-290 Melee pierce +6%, Magic evasion +15%, Critical damage +12%, Additional attack chance by attack, Critical rate +30, 4 Elements
-4 elements. [EP 2 BOSS DROP, 2 UPGRADES] Good pierce, evasion, and critical damage increase. Useful on bosses that are a combination of elements, or new bosses that you don't know the element of. A great all-rounder throw, especially for lazy people who don't want to collect or carry the elements. When in doubt, just use Wicktrace.
Kagekiri: ATK: 302-317-332 ATK +15% MP Cost -10% Hate -30%. For Assassin, Critical damage +17%.
- No element. [CHASING PRODUCTION LV190] Has high atk/crt dmg. Lowered hate and mpc are always useful. Non element means saving inventory space, though lowered final damage.
Uroboros II: ATK: 311 ATK+11%, MP cost -22%, All stats +7 MATK+14%, Skill delay -1.3sec Melee+22% to Dark&Light ,Counter on evasion +10%
- Great MPC and Delay, and is a high attack dual element weapon for dark and light. The attack % is good too. Usable in place of two throws for dark/light.
PM Grenade: ATK: 265 ATK + 25% Melee to Boss + 2% Added ranged melee attack by attack
- No element. [CRAFTED AT PORT SPARGAS BLACKSMITH] Has very high attack increase, and an AOE (auto melee dmg) that's approximately the range of a bishop's nemesis (if you have throw mastery as an assassin) when you auto attack.
Armor
Ultimi Last Upgrade: ATK: 8 Def: 25 ATK+14% MATK+18% Accuracy+100 Melee+900 Delay-1sec, Critical up Absolute evasion +10%
- [CRAFTED AT BLACKSMITH, 3 UPGRADES] Evasion, damage, delay. Better survival than Ira, because a dead damager does no damage. Somewhat expensive.
Bellow of Order Upgraded: Melee&Magic R +13%, Skill delay -1.2sec, ATK up by STR, MATK up by INT, Damage cut chance by defense
- [EP 4 FINAL BOSS DROP, 1 UPGRADE] Great resistance, nice attack increase, and delay. Useful for a more solo or survival-necessary use.
Ira Last Upgrade: ATK: 25 Def: 15 ATK +20% Magic evasion + 10% Critical rate +35% Autoskill +10% Critical damage +14% Melee +2% Melee R -30%
- [CRAFTED AT BLACKSMITH, 3 UPGRADES] Great Damage, fairly suicidal gear.
Fallen God Armor: MaxHP and MP -10% Light Res - 50% Dark Res + 20% ATK and MATK + 14%. When equipped with a Fallen God weapon, Skill Delay -1.0s Melee R +10% Magic R +10% Critical damage +10%
- [EP 5 FINAL BOSS DROP] Has great damage stats when worn with the weapon, but the weapon is only dark element, and the armor costs consistently over a billion spina.
Additional
Fallen God's Helm: Light R -10% Dark R +5% ATK +12% Melee R +8% Magic R +8% Critical damage +8% When equipped with a Fallen God's Armor, MaxHP +10% MaxMP +10% ATK +6% Critical damage +5%.
- [EP 5 FINAL BOSS CHEST LOTTERY] One of the best damage add gears when worn with FG Armor.
Monty Beret Upgraded: Melee R +8%, Magic R +8%, Skill delay -1.2 sec, Absolute accuracy +9%, ATK up by DEX, Item recovery +25%, ATK +9%
- [EP 4 MOB DROP, 1 UPGRADE] With a decent dex (I use Monty with 200) it will outdamage the other add gears. Very good atk increase with high delay and high resistance boosters. Recommended for higher level soloists that like to survive.
Barbarotita Re-up: ATK +14%, STR +10, Skill delay -1.2 sec, Accuracy rate -15%, KO time -1 sec
- [EP 2 MOB DROP, 2 UPGRADES] Damage is on par with Monty Beret, and can be used for that level of damage with lower dex. Extra stats besides ATK and Delay fall short compared to Monty.
Force Helm Re-up: ATK +5% Critical damage +13% Hate Rise +10% Melee R +10% Magic R +10% CRT +10 If CRT is over 300, then Melee Pierce +10%
- [EP 2 MOB DROP, 2 UPGRADES] Depending on your atk and dex, Force Helm can do more damage than Monty or Dai. Very good resistance, crt, and atk increases. Melee Pierce is usually a bonus, though the Atk is low.
Schmuck Last Upgrade (suggested by Kazuma): ATK: 12 Def: 8 ATK +15% Reflect +10% Critical rate +15% Critical damage +15% Melee to Neutral +6%
- [EP 1 MOB DROP, 2 UPGRADES] Something you can farm and upgrade alone that will last into the end game. The ATK/CRT is greater than Barb. Neutral melee may be good if you're trying to do ele add sets or 1 shot 3i.
Special
Wild Ring: Melee+10% against all elements All elements R -10%, MaxHP&MP-10%
- [EP 4 DROP OR CHASING LV 199] One of the highest damaging spec gears out at this moment.
Disaster Stone: DEF: 0-3 MaxHP -20%, Recoil +1%, ATK up based on VIT (Max atk increase of 300 with 1 VIT).
- [SMITHING PRODUCTION LV 120] Known to be one of the best damaging special equipment for assassins of this build. A problem with the HP - 20%, but great for solo boss farms under 10 seconds.
Specia's Blessed Stone: Does nothing, but has 2 slots.
- [FINISHING EP 5 MQ] Put 2 damage xtals in this to have an awesome special gear!
Craft Guide Book: ATK increases with the difference between STR and DEX, and MATK with INT and CRT.
- [LV 220 ELBAN RAID DROP] For super low dex/high str users that prefer gear rather than stats to have delay, this is good damage.
Ring of Rush: Dex - 100, Accuracy - 70%, Absolute Accurace - 70%, Critical rate - 30% ATK up by level (capped at +300 ATK by level 300) ATK + 3%
- [EP 3 MOB DROP] Great ATK increase, and since accuracy and critical rate do not impact Backstab, the only downside is lowered DEX.

Ideaus: (suggested by darkraven) ATK +5% MATK +5% If [STR > 250] then ATK +10% If [INT > 250] then MATK +10%
Apostolia Line Setup
Lines: 2 green and 6 yellow
This is attained by a red and green AL xtals like this:
1. Green
2. Red
3. Green
4. Red
5. Green
Here is my new "after balance" alternate AL setup:
Lines: 2 Red, 6 Yellow
This is attained by switching the reds and greens from the previous setup to be 2 green AL's and 3 red. This idea originated from how assassins got their magic evasion nerfed. Thus, 2 green lines may be inferior to 2 red lines in helping survival, depending on the player.
If you normally keep your health above 5k, then this may be better for you, to take 1 hit and still live. If your hp is closer to nothing, evasion may be better.
AL Xtals
Ouvel: ATK +6% MATK +6% MaxHP -10% MaxMP -10%
- Very high ATK increase, extremely useful now that ATK is the best damage increase.
Gan Ceann: ATK + 2% Melee attack up by base ASPD
- Good ATK increase, very good melee increase for any hybrid AGI users.
Teo: ATK +2%, DEF +180, Critical damage +3%, Absolute evasion -5%
- Good ATK increase, and a little bit more damage from Crt Dmg. The loss of some absolute evasion isn't really felt, because almost nobody has good absolute evasion anyway.
Valtia: ATK+3% MATK-3% Absolute evasion +2%
- Evasion and ATK, better than Teo.
Zazel: ATK +15 ATK +2% MATK +30 MATK +2%
-For the players that would rather have 15 ATK over Teo's other stats.
Shelk: AGI +5, Evasion +15%, Absolute & Magic evasion +5%, Counter on evasion +5%
-The best evasive AL. Strong evasion all around, and also triggers Skia more often.
Vatendeth: Melee R +10%, Magic R +10%, Hate rise -20%, Melee pierce +15%, Magic pierce +15%
-Strong resistances rather than evasion. Very strong lowering of hate, and great increase in melee pierce.
Vida: ATK+8% MATK+8% Autoskill-5% Melee&Magic R -20%
- Very high ATK at the cost of your resistances
Sauro II: Melee +3% to all elements, All magic +3%, Delay -0.5 sec, Autoskill +2%
-Strongest melee attack AL, and a nice skill delay boost.
Sauro III: Universal Element Melee +3% All Magic + 3% Delay - 0.5 sec Autoskill +3% ATK&MATK +30 Neutral Res +5%
-Just like Sauro II, but some more attack and Neutral Resistance. Expensive, but since Sauro 2 and 3 are different items, you can equip both for otherworldly levels of melee increase.
Gatekeeper: If the status had more than 350, is obtained by adding the Effect corresponding to the relevant Status
350+ STR: ATK +2% Melee +300 STR +3
350+ INT: MATK +2% MaxMP +5% INT +3
350+ CRT: Critical damage +3% Absolute Evasion +2% Magic Evasion +2% CRT +3
-Great for high level players with STR and CRT above 350.
Adventurer: (suggested by kyuuketsu) ATK &MATK +4%, Absolute&Magic evasion +3%, Autoskill+2%, All damage cut +1%
- Very usable if you get a good color (green/red) during MQ.
Union Sam (2020 Update): If combined STR + VIT + CRT is over 665, ATK + 3% MaxHP + 3% Critical Damage + 3% Autoskill + 3% Melee&Magic Resist + 3%. If combined INT + AGI + DEX is over 665, MATK + 3 % MaxMP + 3% Spellburst + 3% Heal Recovery + 30% Absolute Evasion + 3% Magic Evasion + 3%
Relic Crystals
Uradoom: ATK +5 MATK +5 ATK +1% MATK +1%
- Slightly disappointing Atk, but better than the common relic.
Oswald: ATK +2% Absolute evasion +3%
- A must have.
Mish: Poison +3% Critical damage +3%
- Nice crit, poison is decent if you like to use venom skills.
Roy: ATK +2%, DEX +2
- Same as Oswald, but just without the evasion.
Karekkura: Melee Pierce +1% VIT +2
- Barely better than the regular melee pierce relic, you can get that too if lazy.
Giorgio: Melee R +2% Magic R +2%
- Adding the very good resistance relic in here, because by the time you can use relics, you might want a little more resistances.
FAQ
Q: Do I have to get all the elemental throws?
A: No. It's a waste of space. They are great for production sets but Wick III out-damages most of the normal 4 elements anyway. To best use all elements in the least amount of throws, try Wicktrace III, Uroboros II, and Eventail III.
Q: What throw should I get first if I need multiple?
A: Eventail. It's cheap, neutral element, and you will use it until the end game.
Q: Can I put Nigdu in everything, like putting Mr. Oritius/Ideaus in everything?
A: No. Nigdu's raw ATK up by Lv may be strong, but every Nigdu in your set after the first will have lowered effect. (ie only a % of its full increase) It is the same logic as not getting multiple lv 5 star abilities because there is overlap and waste.
Q: Can I just use Kagekiri for everything even if it has no element?
A: Of course you should do what you like, but CRT dmg isn't the most relevant stat anymore, and don't complain when others do more damage than you.
Q: Isn't Ogre Shield the best damage add gear for assassins?
A: Ogre Shield [Additional]: DEF: 10-16-30 ATK: 5 ATK +24%, Melee R -60%, Magic R -50%, Rate Cut -50%, Absolute Evasion -90%, Magic Evasion -90%. I am not sure that dead people do the most damage, so I did not include this in the list.
Q: How can I survive and have damage?
A: Don't wear gears with negative stats in HP, Resistance, Defense, and Evasion. For example, don't wear Ira if you can't handle losing a third of your melee resistances. Don't wear disaster stone if you don't want to have low hp. Wear a Vatendeth AL or a BOO to be reasonably surviveable on regular mobs/easier bosses.
Q: Why do I do 1.5m on yardes but only 700k on 3i and on bosses?
A: Have you tried melee pierce? Most bosses have higher defenses than your easy 1 shot mobs. Try using an xtal or AL that has melee pierce, or adding a melee pierce star ability onto your gear. You can also try combining elemental and ATK % gear.
Ending Notes
NOTE: I have purposefully left out many old and famous damage xtals such as Mamonea and Arick, because after the balance patch, they are no longer useful, and may in fact be counterproductive.
You are free to completely disagree with this very small list of items, but I purposefully did not list some alternate items because they just are not as good to use as these. Unlike with stats, it comes down to personal preference which gears fit a player best. Let me know if you think an item that isn't on an ideal list should be, why that item really is the best in its gear type, and I may replace something on here with it.
Keep in mind many throws have new upgrades that are recently or yet to be released, and new mq bosses can have xtals that are better than these current ones. If that is the case, do let me know. Anyway, happy analyzing (and hopefully discussing)! (^v^)/
