Quick correction killer stick dmg IS up by carpentry.
I took my samurai that had no carp lv and switched it to alchemist and my damage was considerably lower then my alchemist with 100 carp lvs but similar level. My dmg was about 50% lower then expected. When I change the formula I had to account for 70 points of dmg per carp lv then it worked So killer stick dmg formula looks like:
(Carp lv *70~) + (lv *10 *skill lv) +atk +matk
Note: the Atk portion can crt and the matk portion is affected by spell boost and Spell burst.

Skill that is affected by prod are the skill where the item of it belongs from.. Alchemy > Haze/Throw/Cursed Carpentry > Killer Throw Smithing > Meteor Impact Chasing > Bloom Blizzard I tested all of those... Alchemy boost poison dmg Smithing boost burn dmg Carpentry boost bleed dmg Blizzard is 100% based on Matk just like wizard blizzard but can hit more times Cursed is based on matk, raw stats, your lv and skill lv(not alchemy) Haze is 20% of max hp of receiver Throw Revita is matk + 1000*skill lv*item recovery% Edit:Killer stick is atk + matk + lv*10*skill lv +carp *70 {can crt and or spell boost/burst but only their respective portion) Meteor 1st hit is matk based Poison bomb 1st hit is atk based. I hope this helps to clarify what does and doesn't need prod for dmg. If chasing or any of the other prods do boost something I would like to know, but I'm pretty certain on these already. I'm only supposed to refer the DOT skills actually, but for some reason I included non affected skill (and even forgot poison) by prod lvls. So you can ignore that and my apologies.

Your post inspired me to update my other post with all the other damage formulas I knew and to retest my Killer Stick Dmg formula (something I've been meaning to do sinice the skill damage increase update, but kept putting it off to play with the newer skills). I agree that you should level your all your prod levels especially those four you mentioned. From those four schools you can make your own spells and save your spina for something else(resist set, 100% Poison Set, Matk Set), but you will have to put in the time to farm the mats. In my opinion, what good is an Alchemist if you can't take advantage of your Production Success increase skills? I like making the stuff people want but don't want to grind Prod to get it, then sell it to them and use the spina to buy my spells. Ends up being faster for me. Besides, for an Alchemist Leveling Prod also increases damage for DOT skills. So Why not?!

About grinding, when the catalyst was implemented I just started buying things because my prods are capped already, but before (when catalyst was unimplemented) I won't grind unless I have 100 stk of each skill items except for healing and happened that chasing was low lvl so I also made Ice flower series as my lvling method. Since our most damaging skill back then was bloom blizzard. Quiet expensive on that as water bead is expensive among beads. The 1:1 ratio for skill now is very helpful among with catalyst. When I grind now, I just use curse rain, kill throw ane meteor against 3eyes. Its a fun class, although I'm taking a break at this moment to grind my samurai. Besides, its capped in major stats.
