The classes are more balanced now, people generally accept everyone in party tho I sometimes get kicked for being a Samurai.
That's why I tend to solo on my samu.

As a bk i usually did a tank role when grinding either yarde or 3i. For boss farm tbh i never pt with anyone because the boss that i farm usually not a popular farming boss, like ziddu, bernhardt, raguel, laster, irai etc. And everytime people need help for mq at that boss i always try to help them.
Even in my guild when i lfp-ing to farm no one want to farm that unpopular boss lol.
And there is this support role player that use drop set and always get rare while you use your tank or damage gear to keep pt alive and kill faster lol

I hate being DPS and only that, I can't change my equip to Rare Set because I die or I get kicked because I lower my damage. Or PTing with Bishops/Servants who use full Rare Set even if we all are dying because they heal like 4k as much. And when I'm Bishop I hate when another support character (Normally Minstrel) stills using a full Rare Set and dies every 5 seconds, and I must run after it like I was babysitting it, while at the same time I take care of the rest of the PT. At the end the Greedy Minstrel gets the rare and leaves. That is why I preffer to do my things alone. I farm normally Rossam, Exusia Gewalt, Iniliba, Cordal or Shelk.

For me these 4 reasons:
1 What was already said about support (and maybe even non-support) players getting all the rares? And then just leaving? Oof.
2. Getting the best people for a farm is a challenge. Skills may not be up to par, interests may not align (eg. nobody want to farm unpopular boss), schedules do not match, some needed in guild asap.. I don't have much time for iruna so I wanted to be able to "farm whatever, and whenever" I want (I even put that in my profile XD)
3. Egos and Expectations. Either mine or theirs, don't want to and don't have to deal with those while farming. Can I also add "no pressure" here?
4. Started way back 2014, and oooooh boy you don't want to be agi/auto attack type sniper back then. Instant kick. The days of the "walking vaccines" were the worst. That left me most bitter about partying.
I was a survivor of that era though and never gave up on my build (never did listen to naysayers). I did share it here to make up for not partying much. Maybe someone whose not ruined for parties will try in a party setup and make improvements...

If u don't need a party to kill something then u can just solo especially if fast killer and pet can get rares as well same with lvling and if u have other characters on different devices then u can have them leech at a boss so u can make more spina

Hm, since this thread seems to be revived, I might add some of my experience as well.
I make a lot of my spina income by speed solo farming bosses on my assassin. A huge reason to not party anyone is because they can't load in the boss faster than I can kill it. Another is: many bosses have a little poison, burn, stun, hp delete, etc. I'll always need some form of regen or healing. My pet heals about 1.7k every other second, and picks up drops. Anyone who couldn't heal my hp/mp wouldn't be as useful as my pet.
I do also play on my servant a lot these days. I originally did make her to be a party support, and she is more than capable of that. However, it is quite difficult to find a real tank built well enough to tank things properly. Many times, I end up ice counter tanking, becoming the tank, the healer, and some dmg all at once. The only difference between that and soloing using counter is the need to babysit the dying party minstrel, hw, and sniper.
I think there are too many greedy farm leeches around. I genuinely don't care what gear someone in pt wears as long as they do their role. But what is the purpose of partying a support or tank who cannot play their role decently? And what is the purpose of partying a dps that only rushes in to attack and die immediately, thus doing a total of 0 dmg?
I believe soloing isn't an obsession, but a necessity with the current playerbase.

every fight in every MMO can be boiled down to "tanks do sh1t".
that's because dps isn't really a role. it's just; have good gear and hit big numbers. the highest expectation of a dps player is to have some hate rise-% if it is needed, & it's usually never needed. when it is needed, the tank will just get hate rise+% to substitute.
If ur the tank and ur doing sh1t, you can direct the party, kick bad players, keep good player, and have a team of regulars you can always invite for anything. & if u play with the same people a lot, you start getting a lot better if ur the dps, ur gonna have a hard time.

Personally, I solo mostly cuz my play schedule is so dependent on my mood, and I can be super moody sometimes. Sometimes, I can play for 8 hours straight, but that doesn't mean I'd be farming the whole time. I could be farming mobs, bosses, exploring, testing, or just chatting. Sometimes, I can play for 5 mins and log off for the day. I've never had a farming party that can keep up with me. I rarely farm bosses for more than a stack of kills cuz of that.
I would join random parties, however, their expectation of me is a bit too high sometimes for a casual player like me. All of that combined just makes sense that I solo most of the time.
Heck, since I came back, I haven't joined a single farming party. The only parties I've been to since then are for business in Rokoko s1. I guess what I wanted to say is that I don't solo by choice, but by circumstance (I hope I used that word right).

it all boils down to freedom and flexibility really. I can do whatever I want whenever I want without being burdened and hassled by partymates
