Hi guys. EwPeople here. Magic Ninja. I'd like to get some help.
I gotta say my experience on the class is extremely low, but I've read a lot about it and so I have confidence that what comes out of my mouth is either true or close to the truth. However, there is one guildie (two now) that I've been debating with about the class' skill damage and we are not on the same page. Let me enlighten you.
What I know is assassins focus on getting ATK and CRT damage. That is because from the jp wiki itself, it is what the backstab damage formula says. This person I'm referring to, which I will now be calling Lu, says that what assassins need is MATK and CRT damage. And that's where it all began.
It started when a guildie asked me what build and equipment he should use that is good for a newbie sin. He wanted pure damage build, so I suggested INT CRT STR. I also recommended a cheap throw with good -sd, and same goes to armor and add.
Lu then called me and said to me that I "have 0 experience on assassin." I do not remember the full details of this particular encounter, but I remember him saying "all info about sin is wrong," referring to the 'google translated' skill list made by Takarra in the other forum. He said that the double bs formula is wrong, about sicarius trigger too and some other stuff. This happened around a week ago.
Our latest encounter was just hours before I made this post. That's when it got really heated up. I scoured the jp wiki for the formula, he says my info is unreliable, probably because it was 'google translated.' My point on the jp wiki bs skill description is that MATK or even Magic was not mentioned, not even once. This means that the skill is not MATK-based, am I correct?
Since he's not budging from his position, I asked him for proof, for his sources. He told me one of sources is ¥Riku¥, so off I went and watched some of his videos. I found one video where he showed his equipment. I didn't get to finish the video due to data limits, but I watched enough and I thought I had enough proof to prove him wrong, but I was mistaken.
The debate was going in circles due to my trying to make him understand that what he's saying and his source don't match, such as Stavros. He cannot explain clearly why ¥Riku¥ would use the throw when it has MELEE+25%, because Lu says that sin is MATK build. The same goes for Vatendeth and Scorpia, which are both MELEE+10% to (insert element here).
There's also that issue with Eventail. Lu said that sin needs CSDP/-cast time and -sd. -sd is understandable, but why does sin need the other two? I don't remember seeing any sin skill with cast time. He justified it by saying ¥Riku¥ has DEX. I hesitated there and couldn't fire back.
The debate went on and on and somehow we finished with somewhat a tie. He then told me that his source is not only ¥Riku¥, so I went ahead and asked him for his other sources. He mentioned two other sources: Killua and Alex.
To all the assassins out there that could shed some light on this topic, I'd like to confirm whether or not my argument or his argument is correct. That is the purpose of debates after all. For those who agree with me, I'd like help in finding a way to contact the other two sources. If I could get some comment from his sources I can stop Lu from spreading info about MATK sin.
Thank you for reading.
