You think so? Its 255 and the 1 u start with. I wish i could ask for ur post to be locked so u cant delete it when u realize ur wrong . how am I wrong current point cap is 256. not 250. that's 255 points and 1 initial point. that's all that is wrong. you missed 6 more points to the initial calculation.

You can add up to 255 points to the 1 they give u. Until u hit lv 250+ I believe is what they're saying. I. E. My int and dex are 256 each. Rest on my vit

then that's a big confusion. anyway as current point cap can be raised, there's almost no way to even cap 2 stats in the future.

I like Monks, I just can't party with them... because of my class, them and I don't mix well and have to get rid of one of the essentials (Usually a h.wiz and I need my mp) -Edit Let me clarify. In a Farm PT Usually a H.wiz and Bishop are staple (Depending on the boss of course) I prefer a Paladin as tank over Ninja because I have met a lot of Ninja who cannot hold the agro of the mob with me in the party, sometimes a Monk with VIT and a HP set will try to say they can tank, they can - just cannot hold the agro with me and that is why I don't often party with a Monk - Because I am most efficient with a H.wiz, Bishop and Pally (Or an amazing Ninja)

Ya my monks usually support dmger, cant do much else. The more i play my monk, the more i realize how good a monk is based on gear. More so then most classes. Not only does Att matter but also M.att. not only M.att, but Autoskill gear. Not only autoskill gear, but elemental claws....armors, atfirst i though i judt had alot to learn but....no..monks just need alot of diff sets for diffrent situations. The more stuff i buy, the more i realize i need and the stronger i get. I love monk, except for the fact i have NO SPINA NOW. Gahh.

Monks are SUPPORT dps. Meaning they really aren't meant to tank. They're there to support who ever is damaging in killing the boss in the fastest time possible. This is why they have shell break and geobreaker. It is to help against those bosses who have high defenses, and would normally otherwise take forever to kill without a monk.
As for the max stat points, 256 is our current max, and later on there will be a quest that when completed, will allow you to further train your stats past the 256 cap, to a max of 410. If you choose to max 4-5 stats, go ahead, but your dps vs other classes will suffer heavily.
As for armor, leather coat is good for monk for solo leveling, but not really dps gear.
And before you respond to my post and try challenging me, know that almost everyone here is either a level capped player, level 200+, or has at least capped 1-2 stats. We all know what we are talking about, and I, myself, am a JP player, so I know a bit more than others.

Dragonmail 3rd Upgrade ATK+9%, MATK+10%, Critical Rate +15, Critical Damage +8%, Physical and Magic Resistance +6%, Absolute Accuracy +15%, Auto Skill Trigger +5%, Hidden: INT+10 (Hidden performance: defending, physical counterattack counterattack upon activation, disable the damage with a probability)
All element claw with all element xtals attached
Level 5 Autoskill star Level 5 HP star Level 5 x3 Whatever else floats your boat
Chakra with full INT
Ahhhh the possibilities!

I just want to say this. Inb4/thread wow lol I almost forgot about that thread and yes I do if a monk wants to solo it is the best armor for them because isbgives an extra 1k to there heal so yea but if there in a party there are loads of different armore they can use. -.- if you actually read my tread and nitbjust skimmed through it you would seen that that's what I've said -.-

I kinda get where your coming from. But at the stage in the game now, monks just are not needed that much. As the game goes on they will be needed but for now they are just a backup for everything. Not everyones first choice for a party.
As far as one sidedness for a monk, most are built only one type of way becore the third stat.
agi/vit/crt with leather coat might be pretty good for solo. if you dont mind loosing some dps you could add eden hood so your good vs magic and melee. Heal yourself high and have high hp. Im not a monk though. Just an assumption.
