There is a formula for normal damage then there is a formula for crt damage, but it can be complicated because you have to join 2 formulas. For easy estimate, you can have atk+lvl-mob def for normal then multiply it by 1.5 + (your crt stat/200 + %crt dmg gear (e.g. beelzenoid would be 0.14). It wouldn't be accurate just an estimate. I couldn't paste the formula cuz Im not on my laptop.

Ok, let's say (given that different mobs would yield diff mob def esp if doing bosses vs grind mobs like megas)
1500 ATK, 200 CRT, 200 STR
If I add Ganei @ 10% ATK = 150ATK, right? Based on the formula above, this would also yield 375 CRT DMG (150 x (1.5+(200CRT/200))? These would be on top of the 1500 ATK and the CRT DMG calculated from it (3750) for a total of 4125 CRT DMG?
If I add Beelzenoid instead @ 14% CRT DMG (assume 200 STR), it's a straight 1500 x (1.5 + 200CRT/200 +.14) or 3960 CRT DMG?
So in this example, it would be better to add Ganei than Beelzenoid?

Sorry, I realized that what you are trying to achieve involves a better understanding of the formula and i forgot that the critical adjustment for equipment/xtal is separate so here it is: Normal damage = (your ATK stat + weapon ATK value + your LvL - enemy LvL - enemy DEF + *random number) x (1 + element bonus) + Physical Power *random number = any value from 0 to (weapon ATK / 5) Critical Damage = Normal damage x (1.5 x CRT / 200) x (1 + skill + xtal + equipment correction) + **Physical Power **I think Physical Power (melee damage) is always added last, so if you proc a critical, you will need to remove it from the formula of normal damage and add it after computing the critical damage This is per my understanding of the JP wiki formula. I believe this will show that Beelzenoid will top Ganei because it affects alot of other factors in the equation whereas Ganei will only affect "your ATK stat" in the formula. In the same aspect, I believe Cerberus will beat Schlingel/Plazuda/Boss Colon so long as you have a decent value of ATK or are not dealing with higher level mobs with high DEF. I hope this helps you clear things out.

I hope this helps you clear things out. It does, thank you! This second one is a bit more convoluted than the first one you gave by they basically are saying the same thing: +ATK like Ganei will up your ATK as well as your CRT DMG while Beelzenoid will "only" affect CRT DMG directly. That said, there will be a certain point when one will outweigh the other. In the example I gave previously, using the first posted formula, Ganei outweighs Beelzenoid. But if my CRT is 223 (not 200), with every thing else being the same, Beelzenoid will match Ganei and becme better as CRT gets higher (again, with every thing else being equal). Thanks!

Well, yes ganei will affect your crt dmg. However, beelzenoid will affect your crt multiplier AND your normal damage which is why it can be more potent than ganei, so long as the -mob lvl and -mob def is not detrimental to the equation.
So more often than not, beelzenoid will win especially due to the fact that beelzenoid requires 200str to be effective and with 200str, you will already have a good base atk for beelzenoid to take advantage on.

You lost me. How does beelzenoid affect Normal Damage? I thought all it does is add CRT dmg?

I mean that ganei will only affect "your atk stat" in the formula. The 14% increase of beelzenoid gets applied to all the factors in the formula, since normal dmg and crit multiplier is multiplied to it..

Best add is sunshin katana which gives a massive atk bost when u get hit. What stats? I have separation arrows (5% ATK, 10% crit damage) it has recoil 1% and max hp penalty 10% if I remember correctly. It also has delay-0.5sec good for Pillar Blade spam.

But the extra 10% ATK is by chance on defense (not sure about the proc rate but it lasts 10seconds) and I think STR builds prefers not to tank. I'd still go for the arrows, it helps you save DEX on the -skill time (so you can invest more on STR and CRT or VIT). The comparison on bonus would just be 5% ATK all the time with arrows vs. 0% that becomes 10% sometimes if you get hit with katana.

TBH almost all the glads ik are 200+ and all of them are max cri,str and working on vit. So they are in situations most of the time where they tank as well as dps, sunshin katana ups thier atk alot (proc rate is like 30% when hit) Since u are tank glad i think u would benefit more from it. You can always farm zolban for q.cool abi and u can 2 hit him as well so u get more dmg for the same spd

well 30%proc is pretty high and for a 10sec buff it can be worthwhile. I havent really played my glad yet cuz im building my pally. i know i have it on storage and ill test it out (i think i did test it before but was not impressed or i didnt really know what i was doing, so ill check it again when i have time. thanks.)
