backstab with sicarius triggered
=========================================
normal backstab
Sicarius (Lv1/ passive)

========================
from iruna-online.wikiwiki.jp:

Assassination technology to defeat the enemy with a single blow. Only invoked when the enemy's HP is more than 95%. Power of the rear-back stab is increased largely.
SLv1 Quest clear [skill acquisition trial!] (Lv240)
※ When triggered, damage further 2-3 times stun the enemy with the back of the rear stab.
※ Stun probability: boss monsters 100%, monsters 5%.
※ Stun time: first trigger +10 seconds, up to 20 seconds. Subsequent triggers +5 seconds per stab.
※ To achieve a 100% stun trigger into boss monsters, your Lv must be equal to, or greater than the enemy Lv.
This skill is affected by your stats only.
========================
※ Sicarius is nerfed from the transition of imode to smartphone, the developers cited reasons being monsters are generally easier in smartphone compared to imode.
Hence, do not take all info from the above as canon.

※ gagoo is the aggressive monkey who is able to 1HKO, located at isthmus of kabri near kreldan
Note: as i am a backstabbing build, this entire guide is written from it's POV
To understand the usefulness of Sicarius, one must delve into the history of backstabbing.
One of the main advantages of being a pure backstabber is to ability to 1HKO (one hit ko) monsters.
However, with the addition of many new monsters that possesses a lump sum of HP, 1HKO-ing them is unfeasible. After the initial backstab, these monsters will target you, and you be bait food to them due to your low HP and defense.
Before this skill was implemented, assassins relies on high evasion or magic evasion to dodge those hits, and they use a method called strafing, to kill off these monsters.
Strafing is basically when you target a monster, backstab it at the rear, then while it is in the process of attacking yourself, you quickly pace behind it and backstab again. Repeat till it dies.
The drawbacks of strafing is plenty.
(1) You cannot one hit kill, therefore spending more MP onto subsequent backstabs.
(2) You suffer from attacks whilst strafing.
(3) It is stressful to master, and hard to execute.
In comes Sicarius.
This skill, is passively activated everytime you do a rear backstab unto a monster. The damage dealt will be equivalent to 2-3 times of your backstab damage, and may apply a short stun onto the monster.
Here's some quick facts to know about Sicarius:
- damage dealt will be minimum 2x, and if the target monster have high health, this can extend to 3x.
- a minor portion of the damage from sicarius is based on the target monster HP%, hence it will penetrate barriers.
- stun is triggered when your STR and INT stat is above a minimum point.
- as long as the target monster have above 95% HP, you can always trigger sicarius, whether if its 2 or 3 hits consecutively.
- stun is nerfed heavily in smartphone, the initial stun period is 5seconds.
- stun time is able to be increased, it depends on the total amount of STR and INT stat.
- subsequent sicarius stun time is refreshed.
- stun trigger rate is low on normal monsters (10-20%), however; if your level is equal to, or more than a boss monster, stun trigger rate is 100%.
- sicarius can be activated regardless of what weapon your using.
- the "black flash" from sicarius is only triggered when you use a throwing weapon. It is believed that your backstab damage increases when you triggers it.
Stun time occurs when you have a minimum of 75 STR , and 150 INT, and the totaled amount of STR and INT must be minimum 300.
※ If you have 74 STR and 149 INT, stun will not trigger.
※ If you have 75 STR and 150 INT, stun will not trigger.
※ If you have 256 STR and 149 INT, stun will not trigger.
※ If you have 74 STR and 256 INT , stun will not trigger.
To increase the duration of the stun time, you must have higher STR / INT stats. A rough estimate is 50 stats : 0.8 seconds ratio, or about 62-63 stats needed for 1 second extra stun time. This stun time is added up to your initial stun timing. (which is 5seconds)
A quick misconception is that people think STR is the only way to improve stun length. INT also improves stun length too, and it is reccomended to have more INT than STR, should an assassin wants to improve his stun duration.
Some benefits of having a headstart of INT is:
- Higher illusion rate
- More mana capacity
- Some skills support INT stats, e.g. chakra, magic barrier
There is a way to calculate how long is your stun duration.
(STR + INT) - 300
This will show you how much bonus stats you have after subtracting the initial stun duration requirement, which is 300.
Although the bonus stun is nifty during bosses, the major usefulness for sicarius is that it provides an excellent increased damage hit onto the first backstab. This allows backstabbers to one hit all non-boss monsters (discounting high hp ones like megaroches etc), simplifying the one aspect that deters most people from playing the class- level grinding.
However, backstabbers still face the same old issues that plagued them during solo-training: MP issues.
This impact can be cushioned, with the introduction of Sicarius. Since this skill provides an increased backstab damage, you can roughly estimate the required damage to kill the monsters, then substitute off some of your damage gear for some -MP cost equipment; (e.g. sushiwa armor up) currones set, and so on.

Quick FAQs
- stun trigger rate on non-boss is very low, about 15%-20% success rate. This may be increased with autoskill%.
- non-boss includes high ents, megaroches, balor and nommar.
- it is unknown whether equipments/ abilities/ skills affect the stun duration.
- if you have high enough DPS, you can fodderize a boss within the short stun durtion, or weakening him enough to kill him quickly after he recovers.
- after the second sicarius, the stun length is not extended. the stun time will be refreshed by the amount of stun duration you can inflict.
- it is confirmed that if the boss is higher levelled, you can not inflict a 100% success stun rate. (take for example, tarna is lv280, and my current lv is 254. I am able to stun her at about 60% success rate.)
All in all, i do think Sicarius is great- it massively helps us out in grinding; although this skill is not so effective somewhat for long boss-party runs, it is a great tool to help us survive the next wave- from lv240 to lv260. This skill shines its potential mostly during higher levels, where an increased stat limit benefits assassins more.
