So I wanted to know, does the element of a weapon only boost magic skills of the same element or does it give the element it has to every magic attack skill that you cast?

Since Elemental weapons increase melee damage to mobs of the opposite element, what I'm guessing is the element of a weapon only boosts skills of the same element in the case of magic skills. But what I'm hoping is that it gives the element to my skill xD because that would help raise Mw3 dmg on Medusa ._. leveling there is possible but so slow ._.
