Hey, its a summoner guide but have in mind that not all info there is 120% correct. Most info there is for you to make most out of your summoner, and not about making a cheap summoner or anything like that.
Builds
Normal bow:
STR>DEX>INT>GR>RD>VIT
Best build for literally everything for obvious reasons, and if you disagree, you're wrong.
Play Style
Summoner has 4 different summons that they can summon in total amount of 3 units and since It's my guide I will be telling how I play the class.
Preparations:
200 tactics: Summon any 3 summons, use Force Assault, unsummon and summon any 3 summons again, use Force Assault and wait like 3 seconds, your summons restore HP due to passive skill Encouragement, then after those 3 seconds use Force Assault for the last time, and unsummon. (MPCost set)Buffing and summoning: Use all your buffs and proceed to summoning Cait Sith. Set Cait Sith to use Skill 2 on Summoner. Once you get Cheer buff go ahead and unsummon it, then equip your firepower/damage set and summon your damage summons.
Grinding:
lv120-lv180 - Use 3 Baby wolves, go to Jacbos and make your summons use skill 3.
lv180-lv240 - Use 3 Farfies, go to Megaroche and make your summons use skill 4.
lv180-lv240 - Use 3 Baby wolves, got to Nommars and make your summons use skill 3.
lv240-lv410 - Use 3 Farfies. go to Third Eyes and make your summons use skill 4.
So grinding until Lv240 is very simple, when you get to Lv240 you gain skill Command: Destroy, with this skill you should just level at Third Eyes until you become able to one shot Moss Golem.
Farming mobs:
If you farm in party area and you cant one shot mob/mobs I recommend using Farfies skill 4 deals more damage than baby wolf's skill 3 and they also restore each others health.
if you farm mob that you can one shot with baby wolf's skill 3 then just do so, It's pretty much fastest way to kill mobs for a summoner.
Boss farming:
Boss have under 600k hp? Summon 3 Farfies and just enter the party field and press "Attack" button or just wait.
Boss have under 1,5m hp? Summon 3 Farfies, enter party field, use Command: Attack Lv1-3 and after that start using Command Area Lv2 to gain Leadership%, once you get 100% Leadership use Command: Destroy and one shot bosses for 50 seconds straight and repeat once Leadership falls to 0%.
Boss have under 2m hp? Summon 3 Baby wolves, change their Ai to use skill 4, enter party field, use Command: Attack Lv1-3 and after that start using Command Area Lv2 to gain Leadership%, once you get 100% Leadership use Command: Destroy, every time you enter party field use Command: Skill 3 Lv1-3 at the start of combat for next 50 sec and repeat once Leadership falls to 0%.
Boss have Β±10m hp? Summon 3 Baby wolves, change their Ai to use skill 4, change to a set with Range cut +80% and Heal reward/recovery +x/+x%, enter party field, use Command: Attack Lv1-3 and after that start using Command Area Lv2 to gain Leadership%, once you get 100% Leadership use Command: Destroy, and start using Curation on your summons, If summons full hp use Command: Skill 3 Lv1-3 (you can also change to a set with freeze time +)
Boss have 30-100m hp? Find out if it has at least of the 2 weaknesses that will help you fight its. a) Boss is slow. b) Bosses ranged attack doesn't have high range.
a) Enter party field, use tank set and spam Provoke Lv2, once you get enough hate start running away from boss then switch to dmg set and summon 3 Baby wolves, continue running away from boss and charge up leadership to 100%, once you hit 100% use Command: Destroy and change to tank set, you can start running closer to a boss so your summons keep attacking it and not walk so much back to you, keep repeating that until you lose hate and when you do just gain it back again. (To understand how it works you can check out my YouTube video where I show how to kill Joshuca this way as a summoner.)
b) Summon 1 Baby wolf and 2 Farfies and set your summons Ai for Baby wolf to use skill 2 and for Farfies set it to use skill 2 on Unit 1, equip your Miasma set and go straight into a party field, walk up to boss but not too close, once your baby wolf starts attacking the boss let your wolf gain some hate (don't use any command skills or attack boss yourself because that will make Farfies fly to the boss) before spamming Command Area because it gives a little bit of hate to you so after like 5 sec you can just start charging Leadership and once you get 100% use Command: Destroy and just look how boss dies to bleed, just make sure to also swap to Curation set if Baby wolf takes too much damage as Farfies takes some time between heals. (To understand how it works you can check out my YouTube video where I show how to kill Flammel Lv.400 this way as a summoner)
Farming in parties?
Geo in party? Summon 2 Baby wolves and 1 Cait Sith
Don't have a tank in party? Use a tank set and Provoke Lv2 or Hate rise +% set then Summon 3 Knight Colons or 1 Knight Colon and 2 Farfies, just start spamming Command: Attack Lv1-3
Paralyze is needed? Equip Paralyze time + set and Summon 2-3 Farfies and make them use skill 1, you can also use Cait Sith for Cheer buff.
Notices:
1. To gain 100% Leadership It's usually 6-7 Command Areas, and it lasts 50 sec after activation.
2. Exp Gain+% Set is a MUST have on a summoner since you leech from your summons and It's just gonna be useful until you gonna have level and apostolia cap.
3. Drop rate+%/Rare Drop+% Set is a MUST have on a summoner since you leech from your summons and It's useful overall.
4. About tanking with Command: Attack Lv1-3, there's actually no info about it anywhere but I once borrowed my friends Bellow of Order with Provoke ability and was spamming Command: Attack Lv1 and I noticed that I kept stealing hate from tank time to time, this way I started charging leadership in party but I don't recommend stealing hate of another tank unless you're in a raid or something although It was changed how It works for some reason and now It's a bit harder but still doable.

Summons
Summons HP formula:
Baby Wolf: Lv Γ 184 + 1080
Knight Colon: Lv Γ 254 + 1500
Farfy: Lv Γ 114 + 660
Cait Sith: Lv Γ 114 + 660
Summons HP at Lv. 420:
Baby Wolf: 78,360
Colon: 108,180
Farfy: 48,540
Cait Sith: 48,540
Summons Hp at Lv. 422 with Encouragement:
Baby Wolf: 94,472
Colon: 130,424
Farfy: 58,520
Cait Sith: 58,520
All summons have an interval between taking an action.
Baby Wolf - 3sec
Farfy - 3sec
Knight Colon - 3.5sec
Cait Sith - 2.5sec
Summon will mainly use skill that is set for them in Summon Ai settings but skills have delay and if delay is longer than summon interval between action, your summon will use a normal attack until they can use set skill again.
Using Command: Skill 1-4 Lv1-3 can reduce delay for summon skills. For example if I use Command: skill 4 Lv2 then my summon Unit2 will use skill 4 on next action. Command: Skill 1-4 have fixed skill delay 1-4 sec for relative skill. (that means you can use 3 Farfy and make them always use Skill 1 even if it has 6 sec delay).
CRT stat makes delay longer. have no idea on scaling for this one.
Baby Wolf Lv2:
β Skill 1 [Tail Attack] Physical attack. (N/A)
β Skill 2 [Scratch] Physical attack, probability of 9-10 bleeding. (N/A)
β Skill 3 [Ice Spear] Water magic attack, probability of 9-10sec freezing. (6 sec delay)
β Skill 4 [Freezing Claw] Water physical attack, stronger if target is frozen. (6 sec delay)
Farfy Lv2:
β Skill 1 [Lil Thunder] Wind magic attack. (6 sec delay)
β Skill 2 [Gentle Wings]/[Feather of Heal] Single target heal, affects only other summons. (6 sec delay)
β Skill 3 [Gentle Song]/[Healing Song] Area of effect heal. (9 sec delay)
β Skill 4 [Healing and Dry Wind] Wind magic attack and area of effect heal. (9 sec delay)
Knight Colon Lv2:
β Skill 1 [Head-Butt] Physical attack. (3.5 sec delay)
β Skill 2 [Lil Guardian] Physical area of effect attack. (7 sec delay)
β Skill 3 [Photosynthesis] Self heal. 5-15% summons maxHP? (10.5 sec delay)
β Skill 4 [Colon Blade] Physical attack. Ignores defense. (3.5 sec delay)
Cait Sith Lv1:
β Skill 1 [Mini Drain] HP absorption (5 sec delay)
β Skill 2 [Cheer] ATK/MATK buff skill. Lasts 30 sec. (10 sec delay)
If [STR>INT] then +25% ATK
If [INT>STR] then +25% MATK
If [STR=INT] then +10% ATK, +10% MATK
β Skill 3 [Capricious] Random buff. Lasts 20 sec. (10 sec delay)
(after 3 buffs have been applied, cant take another one until another one ends.)

β Skill 4 [Steal Mana] MP absorption. (5 sec delay)
Summon Ai
There's settings under Menu>Character>Summon.
You can use it to make summon use 1 of 4 possible skills on regular based on skill delay. Summons seem to be doing only what's on 1st Al page unless its impossible for them to do like setting 1st page for summons to "Wait" and being in combat then they would use settings from page 2 but its not 100% confirmed... Might be false. (I haven't tried implementing multiple Ai pages to work while other skill is on delay and even if that's possible its way above my paycheck to make it work).
You have 1-4 condition settings for every page.
Condition Target:
Summoned Beast
Summoner
Summon Unit 1
Summon Unit 2
Summon Unit 3
Condition:

Summon Unit 3
Action:

Use Skill 1
Use Skill 2
Use Skill 3
Use Skill 4

Now lets talk about what you need to do to achieve what.
Do damage with Baby Wolves:
Condition Target: Summoner Beast
Condition: Always/Highest HP/Lowest HP / N&W / N&S / F&W / F&S
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill 4
If you need to freeze yourself then I recommend just using Command: Skill 3.
Condition should be set on "Always" pretty much always but if you want to target only 1 target at anniversary teams or multiple boss rooms (you do want) then I recommend using one of mentioned under Condition.
Do damage with Baby Wolf or Knight Colon and having Farfy to heal them:
Baby Wolf
Condition Target: Summoned Beast/Summon Unit X
Condition: Always/Farthest
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill X (I use 2 and use this strat with bleed set)
Farfy 1
Condition Target: Summon Unit X
Condition: Always/Farthest
Action Target: Summon Unit X (Baby Wolf)
Action: Use Skill 2
Farfy 2
Condition Target: Summon Unit X
Condition: Always/Farthest
Action Target: Summon Unit X (Baby Wolf)
Action: Use Skill 2
You can also see a video of Summoner Vs. Flammel Lv400 to see more on how this fighting style works but worth using only on bosses that don't have crazy range.
Grinding:
Farfy 1-2
Condition Target: Summoned Beast
Condition: Always
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill 4
Cait Sith 3
Condition Target: Summoned Beast
Condition: Always
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill 4
Cait Sith helps keeping MP there and Farfy heals everyone with skill 4 so all you need to do is wear mp cost set and charge Leadership.
Buffing:
Cait Sith
Condition Target: Summoned Beast
Condition: Always
Action Target: Summoner
Action: Use Skill 2
Gives you cheer for 30sec so you can unsummon it and summon stronger summons for dmg. (works in cities)
Tanking with Knight Colons:
Condition Target: Summoned Beast
Condition: Always
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill 3
Skill 3 makes them deal with dmg they take a bit and you can just spam Command: Attack Lv1-3 with hate rise +100% set to give hate to your summons. (they lose all hate on death so you can also just have farfies heal them)
For summons to not attack random mobs while you running through maps because that's annoying and unsummoning them makes you go through hell to summon full power:
Summons you have summoned
Condition Target: -
Condition: -
Action Target: -
Action: WAIT
Changing Action Target to Summoner might also stop them.
That would be it from me but I believe that there's interesting ways you can set your summon Ai and looking forward to seeing more of it.

Al/Relic Crystas
Firepower Al:
β² Ouvel
β² Vida
β² Adventurer
β² Enina
β² Oritius
β² Sea Muscle
I recommend using 6 yellow lines and 2 red lines, since ATK affects summons dmg more than it MATK but can also just use 3 yellow 3 cyan 2 red/green or 6 cyan 2 red/green.
Firepower relics:
β‘Aufsea
β‘Horutes
β‘Oswald
β‘Rita
β‘Roy
β‘Uradoom
β‘Vida
Drop relics:
β‘Drop Rate +1/2%
β‘Easter Egg
Must Know
Leadership/Command: Destroy
Your summons will do up to 10% more damage when you have 5-100% leadership and standing in Command Area, after casting Command: Destroy, your summons damage will increase by about 350% and if you standing in Command Area those 10% turns into 30% and damage will be decaying from 380% to 350% while leadership goes from 100% to 0%.If you leave Command Area your damage will be 350% while Command: Destroy is active until you summon another Command Area.
To charge Leadership you will need to have hate of mob/boss on you or your summon and while you or your summon have hate and you stand in Command Area it will give 5-15% of Leadership (based on how many summons you have 1 summon = 5% Leadership, 2 summons = 10% Leadership, 3 summons = 15% Leadership) or you can gain it by using Command Area 5-15% per every use of Command Area.
Soul Bind
You have to use bow for summoning set if you want to reach highest possible firepower otherwise it reduces your summons dmg by like ~50% and you don't want that and can't make up for that with other weapon type but after summoning you can change to anything because stats for summons stay completely the same. Summons stats are all fixed except ATK, MATK and Lv. HP of summon increases only based on Lv.
MP Potions MMMM So tasty
Summons will consume MP in combat even with MP cost -100% set just for staying alive and for some stupid reason they unsummon instead of just stopping to function. MP cost for having summons alive is based on your MaxMP and most skills too so you can try wearing MaxMP -% on your MP cost set
Do NOT go away from your phone
Asobimo decided to wipe summoners from existence so they implemented a feature that makes your summons inactive after 3 kills so, no you can't be afk and farm on summoner. Now for those who just started the game and don't know why your summons stopped attacking and what you have to do. You get skills like Command: Attack, Command: Skill 1-3 and Command: Match on class change. You need to use one of those skills to make them function again and if you get a red message saying "The summoning unit doesn't exist." then you probably don't have 3 summons out trying to save MP. Command: Attack and Command: skill 1-3 all have Skill level and basically Lv1 affects only Summon Unit 1 so use them based on what Units you have out. (personally using Lv1 all the time).
MP Potions suffering
I think I mentioned it somewhere in guide but I will do it again because some people don't know. From Lv260 you unlock a quest "Lacking Nuts" at Oltoga Village that asks you to kill 30 weak monsters and after you do. rewards you with 20 Binal (M). Medical Herb is uncommon from some mobs and you might have them from leveling at Megaroche so keep them. Once you have both of these you can go to Reoctove City and visit a merchant. Merchant lets you do Synthesis for 15 Thick Revita/Remagic (M) and you need to bring 1 of Binal (M), Medical Herb and Revita/Remagic (XL) which are sold by merchant. Thick Revita/Remagic (M) heals I think for 15% of MaxMP/MaxHP. You can also use this method to make spina.
Command Area Lv2
DO NOT ignore this skill when leveling and doing skill quests. yes Lv1 seems to be doing same stuff but I think it adds 10% range cut while standing in it (20% total) which is not that important. You cannot charge Leadership% if you don't have Command Area Lv2 and you really want to charge Leadership% for huge firepower increase which you can read more about above.

Builds

β Skill 2 [Gentle Wings]/[Feather of Heal] Single target heal, affects only other summons. (6 sec delay)
β Skill 3 [Gentle Song]/[Healing Song] Area of effect heal. (9 sec delay)
β Skill 4 [Healing and Dry Wind] Wind magic attack and area of effect heal. (9 sec delay)

β Skill 3 [Capricious] Random buff. Lasts 20 sec. (10 sec delay)

Condition:
Nearest
Farthest
Always
10% or lower HP
20% or lower HP
30% or lower HP
40% or lower HP
50% or lower HP
60% or lower HP
70% or lower HP
80% or lower HP
90% or lower HP
Nearest and Weakest
Farthest and Weakest
Nearest and Strongest
Farthest and Strongest

Action target:

Summoner

Summon Unit 1
Summon Unit 2
Summon Unit 3
Action:
Attack
Approach
Step Away
Use Skill 1
Use Skill 2
Use Skill 3
Use Skill 4
Wait
Now lets talk about what you need to do to achieve what.
Do damage with Baby Wolves:
Condition Target: Summoner Beast
Condition: Always/Highest HP/Lowest HP / N&W / N&S / F&W / F&S
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill 4
If you need to freeze yourself then I recommend just using Command: Skill 3.
Condition should be set on "Always" pretty much always but if you want to target only 1 target at anniversary teams or multiple boss rooms (you do want) then I recommend using one of mentioned under Condition.
Do damage with Baby Wolf or Knight Colon and having Farfy to heal them:
Baby Wolf
Condition Target: Summoned Beast/Summon Unit X
Condition: Always/Farthest
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill X (I use 2 and use this strat with bleed set)
Farfy 1
Condition Target: Summon Unit X
Condition: Always/Farthest
Action Target: Summon Unit X (Baby Wolf)
Action: Use Skill 2
Farfy 2
Condition Target: Summon Unit X
Condition: Always/Farthest
Action Target: Summon Unit X (Baby Wolf)
Action: Use Skill 2
You can also see a video of Summoner Vs. Flammel Lv400 to see more on how this fighting style works but worth using only on bosses that don't have crazy range.
Grinding:
Farfy 1-2
Condition Target: Summoned Beast
Condition: Always
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill 4
Cait Sith 3
Condition Target: Summoned Beast
Condition: Always
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill 4
Cait Sith helps keeping MP there and Farfy heals everyone with skill 4 so all you need to do is wear mp cost set and charge Leadership.
Buffing:
Cait Sith
Condition Target: Summoned Beast
Condition: Always
Action Target: Summoner
Action: Use Skill 2
Gives you cheer for 30sec so you can unsummon it and summon stronger summons for dmg. (works in cities)
Tanking with Knight Colons:
Condition Target: Summoned Beast
Condition: Always
Action Target: Enemy
Action: Use Skill 3
Skill 3 makes them deal with dmg they take a bit and you can just spam Command: Attack Lv1-3 with hate rise +100% set to give hate to your summons. (they lose all hate on death so you can also just have farfies heal them)
For summons to not attack random mobs while you running through maps because that's annoying and unsummoning them makes you go through hell to summon full power:
Summons you have summoned
Condition Target: -
Condition: -
Action Target: -
Action: WAIT
Changing Action Target to Summoner might also stop them.
That would be it from me but I believe that there's interesting ways you can set your summon Ai and looking forward to seeing more of it.

Personally I use multiple sets for all the different stuff so I don't recommend you playing summoner if you're not willing to spend some $ to buy bag space because that means you will be 1 set Andy and you won't go far with just damage set.
Al/Relic Crystas
Firepower Al:
β² Ouvel
β² Vida
β² Adventurer
β² Enina
β² Oritius
β² Sea Muscle
I recommend using 6 yellow lines and 2 red lines, since ATK affects summons dmg more than it MATK but can also just use 3 yellow 3 cyan 2 red/green or 6 cyan 2 red/green.
Firepower relics:
β‘Aufsea
β‘Horutes
β‘Oswald
β‘Rita
β‘Roy
β‘Uradoom
β‘Vida

Must Know
Leadership/Command: Destroy
